Do you know if any of the shake companies offer a variety pack or 'sample packs?' I bought a few single serving packs of nectar and jay somebody shakes... I would like to taste some of these BEFORE I spend $30-50 to find out they are gross and throw it away. Yes I am a little crazy getting ready for my 2 week pre-op diet. Thanks

  3. I was a year post op when I found out my port had flipped, however back in March the NP that does my fills said that to many fills would cause port problems. So....I didn't go back until late June/early July. Found out then my port was flipped. I have three questions.... 1) If the band can only be filled so many times, than why only fill a .5cc at a time? 2) What causes port flips...did I do to much? 3) I have read a lot on the boards and discovered that most people do not have success after revision...please posts any positive results after revision! Thanks of answer my questions!

I always read posts from people talking about "Feeling Full" This morning I read 3-4 posts where people talked about that "Full" feeling.... Everyone who says they feel full....please explain what that feeling is like??? Compare it to what feeling full was like before being banded?? Since being banded, I have NEVER felt full.....but many people here talk about it, leading to many to desire it as a goal....especially those newly banded... Like I said, I never had that "Full" feeling......I have on occasion eaten a little too much, or drank immediately after swallowing foods....but that led to Pain...as though I was stretching the pouch....but never full...... 5. I made my anniversary August 1. In that year I lost 60 lbs... not incredible, but nothing to sneeze at either. Last month I went in and got a fill which brought me to 9.6 cc's in my 14 cc band. The restriction was immediate. I did the liquid diet for the two days, but even at that point I was bubbling up and couldn't drink much at all above a few sips at most. I couldn't keep any food down. But hey.... I WANTED TO LOSE MORE WEIGHT. So, I suffered through the month. That was a mistake. I went in yesterday for a check up. I was honest and told them it was too tight and that I was bringing everything back when I ate. so... they did an xray and saw that I have some dialation …

I have had the band for 2 years. In the past 6 months I have had the worst case of acid reflux. I have had 2 different tests to make sure the band did not slip. My doctor unfilled me completely and said that the pouch above the band is a little distended(I had the test in July) after they unfilled it they said I would have to retest in October to see if it is better(if not the band has to come out). I'm ok during the day but at night I am up all night coughing and spitting up. I am on Prilosec 2 times a day, but that's not helping. the doctor said that there is nothing they can do except wait to see in October. I'm so tired and my whole body huts from coughing all night. …

Hey everyone. I wanted to know what is everyone's daily caloric intake. 4 weeks ago my PA put me on a 1,000 calorie diet. And lets say I didnt do great on it towards the end once my appetite came back. Then when I saw my surgeon two weeks later he put me on a 1400-1500 calorie diet because he said my metabolism rate is higher and I needed to consume more calories and "kick" my body out of starvation mode. So on here I've seen people who eat around 900 cal - 1200 cal. And some who don't count calories at all. Now I don't know how I will consume this much once I've gotten a fill but I guess my body will adjust. I just wanted to see if anyone is eating this many calories …

Hello everyone. Been banded for about 2 1/2 years now. I've done great, dropped 145 pounds. I hit my green zone and stopped getting fills a year and a half ago. Yesterday I went just to have a check up and get a fill just because I stopped losing and wanted to get back on track. I got 1cc that gave me a total of 5cc in my band. Later that night I ate a little bit of salad that had ham and cheese in it. I couldn't tolerate it so I stopped eating after a few bites. (I know, I shouldn't have ate that). And I couldn't keep liquids down. Today at work I got hot and dehydrated since I couldn't keep any liquids down. Had to go to er and get a iv of Water hooked into me. …

So......I am taken college courses and I have decided to add PE to my course work. I spoke with the instructor and let him know I was really just looking for accountability. He agreed to work withmy so for the next 16 weeks I will be under his direction. I want this to get me in gear to continue on. And if not be will sign up for the next semester.

My surgery was nearly 5 months ago, and I've lost 20 pounds. I feel like I can eat anything and I get hungry easily. I've had 4 fills but it seems like I am nowhere near the green zone. I have been gaining and losing the same 5 pounds forever!! I am sure it will change but it seems like I have been stuck for the last 3 months :-( Thanks for letting me vent.

A little gripe to share. So I am sitting at my desk at work this morning and my old boss comes in to say hello. We chat for a few minutes and all is very pleasant and then he says "ohhh you weren’t here last week one day when I came in to see you" "No I wasn’t, I went home ill last Wednesday and didn’t come back till Monday because I had severe food poisoning" "ohhh I bet you have been eating too much McDonalds." and then laughs at me. "Actually no, it wasn’t that at all." REALLY!!!!! What the..... How rude! I am not stressed, I haven't been out in the sun, I haven't exercised, I am not sick, I only have ovaries (sorry, tmi), so what the heck? I am 2.5 years post-op and still can't figure out what is going on?? Anyone have any thoughts? suggestions?

Since then I've learned the errors of my ways so to speak and had two more fills, my last fill on 8/5/13. For the first time I felt restriction, something that's new to me however on Saturday I got stuck and threw up. I went on liquids for 2 days and slowly started mushies on this Tuesday but I can only take little sips of water and have to wait till those go down and the little food I've eaten is only like 2 or 3 bites of my meal and then if I …

Good morning !!! I got banded on April 15 and my first fill on May 28 and lost only 5lbs with the saline but a total of 18lbs after the surgery. I inform my surgeon I had no restriction so he put a total of 3cc, which is now 8cc in my band !! I have restriction and I'm fine!! My situation is that I'm having a lot of stomach pains and its to the point That i can barely walk!! I saw my primary doctor and believes I'm not use to the adjustment or maybe it's too tight ? I love my restriction, and I lost 6lbs in a week =] but I don't know what to do because the pain is unbearable !!!

I had my surgery 5/30/13, the first couple weeks while I was healing I had no problems eating the suggested food quantity amounts. My doctor told me last week that at this point, I should be eating no more than 6-8oz per meal. Unfortunately, I know I eat more than that. I don't eat as much as I used to prior to my surgery, but not as little as I should. I'm already on my second fill 6.5cc on a 14cc band. I was hoping this last fill would make portion control a bit easier on me. Is this something I should realistically hope will get better down the road with more fills? Aimee

Do you ever get overwhelmed by how far you have to go? In my case, I've lost 40 lbs in six months (which is great, don't get me wrong!) but I still have about 75 lbs to go to get to the top of my healthy BMI range. It seems like an awfully big mountain to climb, and I'm prone to self doubt. I'm not talking about quitting or giving up, but I frequently ask myself if I can really pull this off... I've lost and regained this same 40-50 pounds so many times before, and I've never been able to crack 230. The last time I was under 230 was my sophomore year of high school, 17 years ago. Also, I just had to have a little bit of fluid taken out of my band because I was having hear…

I live in a tiny town 4 hours away from where I had surgery. no nut. here. now I am going to say I have been studying on how to eat better and we (my family have changed how we eat) even my husband has lost 22 lbs. and not by dieting but because we changed our life style. but books are conflicting on peanut butter one uses it as a good example the other as bad so whats your opinion or what has your nut. told you? Thanks in advance I really do appreciate it!

Banded April 4th, 2012 and had lost about 75lbs on my one year bandaversary. My wife and I went to meet up with some friends and I get a phone call. My sister had passed away. Complications from a surgery she had. It rocked me, and bad. 4 months of grief eating and cheating, I had gained 19lbs back. I went in to get my band filled a bit and in one week, I've lost 23lbs!! 4oz each meal, no cheating, no drinking anything an hour before or after, and a lot of motivation. I want my sister to know I loved her and that I was proud of her. My weight loss is now dedicated to her memory. RIP, Katie. I love ya!

I get maybe a week of feeling some slight restriction but then it disappears. Last week, 10 days after geting filled, we were grabbing a quick supper and I got a chicken sub sandwich thinking it would be a few meals. I ate the entire sandwich with no problems, not feeling stuffed.. I am so frustrated. Could my band be leaking and not holding the Fluid? Bonnie

Hi Friends. As many of you know, I had lapband surgery to get ready for knee replacement. I did so well that I am 6 months ahead of schedule. I saw the surgeon yesterday and was given a diagnosis that I never planned for. It seems my hips are just as bad as both knees and I have to get a bilateral hip replacement before getting my knees done. So...I went from one knee to both hips and both knees needing to be replaced. Obviously I am very upset and devastated to hear that I've got so much damage. The surgeon insisted I did nothing to bring this on...it's just arthritis and it happens but I know better. If I hadn't gotten so heavy, and hadn't futzed around for thr…
