tell me about peanut butter

So I am wondering about Peanut Butter is it healthy or not and in what amounts.

And before anyone says ask your nut. I can't... I live in a tiny town 4 hours away from where I had surgery. no nut. here.

now I am going to say I have been studying on how to eat better and we (my family have changed how we eat) even my husband has lost 22 lbs. and not by dieting but because we changed our life style. but books are conflicting on peanut butter one uses it as a good example the other as bad so whats your opinion or what has your nut. told you?

Thanks in advance I really do appreciate it!

I use peanut butter but just put it in yogurt or on apple slices. But I use PB2 which is powdered peanut butter without the fat. It's great in protein shakes and yogurt or sprinkled on bananas or apples. you can add water and make it like peanut butter. It tastes great.

Where do you find PB2? On the internet?

You can also try almond butter. It has great protein and better fat than peanut butter. I alternate, I like them both. I have a whole grain cracker with a little peanut butter at bedtime with my meds and vitamins.

IF you like Peanut Butter.....it can be difficult to control portion size, like any other food.

I learned to like a spoon of it mixed in with LF yogurt as a special item now & then.

I prefer the chunky Adams style. No added crap & the little bits of nut remind me to restrain my enthusiasm.

Yeah - peanut butter is a controlled substance in my house - LOL! 1T isn't going to satisfy my craving for it, so I'm better leaving it alone. Although, I did pick up some of the PB2 powdered peanut butter, and get 2T for 45 calories. It's really good in Protein shakes and yogurt, but wasn't that great when I mixed it with Water to make actual butter. Maybe I needed to add some Splenda, because it was kind of bitter.

wish someone had told me about the jif to go packs when i was having trouble that's for cluing me in now

I like the pb2... I add it to my vanilla protein shake with a few diced frozen bananas....really good!

I've been hearing a lot about PB2. Has anyone tried it?

I love it! 2 tbsp has only 45 calories, 1.5g fat, and 7g of Protein...I often mix it in FF Cherry Greek yogurt. YUMMY!

I count it in my daily calories if I am having it and my NUT says it is a healthy snack (good fat). I also limit my intake to 1T at a time. I have never cared for Greek yogurt but if you take 2 packets of splenda, 4 ounces (1/2 cup) of vanilla or plain Greek yogurt and 1T of Peanut Butter it is a great (high protein) snack and is YUMMY (Thanks AJTexas for sharing her recipe)! Otherwise, I sometimes put a T of it in my chocolate Protein shake in the blender.

Yes, aj has us all addicted. When I can find it, I use PB2 in my greek yogurt or reduced fat PB. But PB and yogurt is a daily treat for me.

I use PB2 in my shakes gives it a great BP taste. I also mix it with a little water and stevia and will eat it right off the spoon, love the chocolate PB2.

Another powdered peanut butter is called Just Great Stuff. Available in the gluten free section at Wegmans. Not cheap but tastes good in shakes.comes in regular and choc.

I've been hearing a lot about PB2. Has anyone tried it?

I use in in shakes

banana PB 2 almond milk and some ice

But I saw a post about sprinkling it on apples and bananas

PB 2 comes in chocolate flavor as well

I ordered some PB2 and it's pretty good stuff!

I actually ordered pb2 and received it in the mail today and immediately tried it...definitely highly recommended...it's just like an all natural peanut butter except not nearly as much fat and calories!! It's awesome to get your pb fix..next I'm gonna try chocolate pb2 since it tastes like reeses!! Omg like obviously why wouldn't I lol...but i bought mine on Amazon for like $8
