Flipped port and pain
My surgery was Oct 2012 and by Jan2013 my port had flipped completely over. Never had any pain. Had a port revision and no more problems.

What do you like?
Love shopping for regular clothes, not 1x,2x3x. Love being able to walk. Love not worrying the table is too close to the bench seat in a restaurant. Love the fact I no longer need any b/p medications. Love the fact, God willing, will be around to see my grandchildren grow. Love the friends I made coming here. Like Floridays said "this lust is endless". Love that girl!

Been A Little While Since I Have Been Around...
I feel we are kindred spirits. I've been banded 13mths and down 103 lbs. I too reached my most important goal, double knee replacements. It's been 3mths on lt knee & 2mths on rt knee. I'm walking close to 3 miles every day, was unable to walk 60' before banding & replacements. Still a bit tender, but have to keep moving. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I did it.....

Banded 11/4- Major Complications :(
Sorry for your ordeal, glad things are ok now.IMO, your surgeon must have been high.No one gets that much fluid, some get approx 4cc. Where did you have your surgery, so I can avoid that crap?

What does PB stand for?
ps. I carry plastic grocery bags in my car, when I'm forced to eat and drive. I try very hard not to get into the situation of driving and eating. Not pretty, lol

What does PB stand for?
Being stuck can lead to a productive burp. When I'm stuck, I get PB a few times before getting relief. Its like when a baby spits up, can't control it, it comes up whether you want it to or not. If you get stuck in a restaurant, be prepared to run to the restroom or have a few napkins.

anniversary
Happy Bandiversary! Can you please share some of your ups and downs. Everyone's journey is different and I think it could help us to understand what it takes to be a success. Thanks & congratulations!

I have always sucked at diets but...
I think I can speak for about everyone here, we have all been there and done that.lol Tried every diet in the book, failed every diet in the book. LBS is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Let me make one thing clear though, it is not a miracle device. It does take work and it does seem like another diet at first ( until you have enough fills). You can work with this tool, or you can find away around it. Live by the LB rules and you'll do great. The best thing you can do is research and educate yourself on what the band does and does not do. Best of luck!

Firsr tightening
Welcome to LBT! You will find a lot of support here and I hope no one passes judgement on you. Just be prepared that if you ask a question, everyone has an opinion and not afraid to give it, lol. I do hope you are able to find a Dr. who can give you any fills you may need, without causing unnecessary stress. Good luck!

New here - just banded yesterday
First couple of days are rough as far as getting liquids down. I too, felt like you. It was Jean McMillan, author of Bandwagon who told me 1 oz every 15mins and that helped. Small sips slowly.Warm Fluid helps too. It will get easier as swelling subsides. One year later, I still have to start my day off with ff hot chocolate to loosen the band up in the morning. Congratulations & Best wishes!

Only 3 more sleeps til surgery!
I was able to sleep on my side immediately after surgery. I just used a pillow to support my stomach. Everyone is different. I just recently had 2 knee replacements, 4wks apart. That was a different story. I found placing pillows on each side of my body, where my arms layed up on top of them and having a couple pillows under my head, keeping me elevated helped a lot. You can see a lot of trial and error went into this.lol Good luck!

I Broke out of the 2's
Congratulations on getting back to where you were! Failure is only failure when you give up. Keep up the good work! I too have had 4 surgeries in one year, LBS, port revision and 2 total knee replacements 4wks apart. Its been a challenge, but I see things getting better and better everyday. Best wishes for continued success!

Homie Dont Play That
when I get a fill, I'm really tight for a few weeks and I just persevere. But if you can't even get liquids down, you need a Dr. You can go weeks with no food, but only a few days without liquid. You gotta do, what you gotta do. Good luck & feel better soon!

November 20th 2013

Day 1 post op- problems with water?
you have a lot of swelling so at first you do have to sip, sip, sip. I think its like 1oz every 15mins. What you're describing sounds to me like getting to full to quick. If taking smaller sips doesn't help, you should talk with your Dr. It possible they gave you a fill during surgery, that was a bit to much. Best of luck!

St. Pete/Bradenton/Sarasota area?
You'll do well with Dr. Stevens group. I'd really like to attend the LB support group, but the office keeps referring me to a combo group with by pass patient. They are so LB judgmental, like you won't do as well as gastric, blah blah blah. Well I still have my whole stomach and I'm happy with my band.lol Good luck on your journey!
