Does anyone have any info on Doctor Colleen Kennedy, with offices in both Rockwall and Plano? She's the one that my insurance told me is an approved provider but before I visit her I want to be sure I check here and see if anyone has any positive/negative vibes they want to share. I did a search and the forum shows one member listed her as a Doctor, but that person has been offline since May. I did send them a private message, so hopefully I will hear something back. Thanks

I'm in North East Texas (the Mt. Pleasant area)...how do I FIND a doctor? I'm willing to travel to Longview or Tyler , travel west to the Rockwall area or travel east to Texarkana...anyone have any suggestions?!?! How often do you visit the Doctor before your surgery (i.e. consultations, tests, etc) and then how often do you visit after the surgery? Thanks

im looking in to using dr. hargroder in baton rouge, he does the spider technique which is very appealing to me..the only thing is that he is 4 hours away and there is a great surgeon here, dr. merriman, but he doesnt do the spider surgery..also i have heard of hargroder because apparently he has alot of patients from allover who sing his praises but im having a hard time finding these reviews..so if anyone has used or knows someone that has used either dr. hargroder or merriman i would really appreciate hearing about your experience with them...thanks, jennifer

Hello EVERYONE!!!! I am needing to know if any of you have ever heard of Dr. Keith Wright,MD at True Results in San Antonio,Tx. He has been appointed to be my surgeon for my lapband in April of 2013.I'm just trying to see how he does things&if his bedside manners are excellent in what he does.

Guys sombody help me please. I have another account under Nayelli that I use to log in through my facebooc account but Lapbandtalk.com wont let me do it anymore it tells me error.... this has been hapening since yesterday. Dr. Cohen did my Lap-Band surgery and he is simply amazing. He makes you feel at ease and explains the ins and outs of what to expect after surgery. He is very accessible should you have any questions. The office staff are also great! They are very accommodating and they are willing to go the extra mile to help you. I also like the pre-operative and post-operative support that was provided. I went into surgery will prepared with the right info to help me succeed.

My lap band doctor is Stephen Watson, of murdoch, St john of god. I am nervous first time, having an operation. Buy maybe i should feel easy as this is a guy thats done about 4500 lap band operations.

Hi, Since Dr Spivak moved back to Israel, I was wondering what Dr. his former patients are now using? And any experiences (good or bad) that you are having with them. I felt so lucky to land on Dr Spivak's doorstep and now I feel lost. I am having some small issues and want to get this checked out. Also do you know where they left our medical charts? He was awesome! The office staff was great and on their jobs to get me approved! I was sleeved Oct 5th. Dr.Baptista gave me his personal cell phone number and told my husband to call if he had any questions or if I had any problems. I am walking around doing great haven't had any pain medicine since I been home. Memorial hospital was awesome. Joni was my nurse both nights she was really nice and willing to help. Anyway she could. If they had to call Dr.Baptista he responded very quickly!!!! Much <3

This is my first post. I've been lurking for a while now. I'm Michael and I live in the DFW metroplex. I initially saw Dr. Kim in Colleyville. I was impressed by his staff and record, but not so much the Dr himself. I would also have to go to Wise medical center for surgery. I wasn't to happy about that either. I had my surgery in Birmingham and Dr. Pennington was my Doctor that helped me change my life! His staff is very professional and his office has a wonderful Christian atmosphere. Has anyone had any experiences with Dr. Herron? My friend was referred to him by other friends but I don't know anything about him and can't find anything on these boards. I used Dr. Fielding for my own banding, but I guess she has a more personal connection to Herron so wants to check him out. Any info would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, I am currently trying to find a new Dr in Virginia. I was going to Dr. Halmi at Blue Point Surgical but due to his unconventional treatment with me I am looking into Dr. Schroder in Richmond. Does anyone have any experience with him? I go to my PCM this friday for a referral to go down to Richmond. I guess my question is, is he stingy with fills or will he give me the substantial fill I truly need? Dr. Halmi removed all but 3 cc's in my band a year ago and has refused to give me another one. I have gained 16lbs since that fill was removed and I need to regain restriction. Is Dr. Schroder the Dr. to go to for help? Thanks

Every thing is done but my Band office say the sleep study doctor is out again. So they can't submit my stuff to insurance company! It's been a month and I have done everything! Can I switch OBand offices? Will they give me all of my test and studies.? They should since they can't get their stuff together!

finally got appointments and a surgery date. I almost had to take the classes over again. I'm not nervous at this point but that's what makes me nervous. I like Dr Fadorka, he spent a lot of time with me and answered all my daughters questions, but I'd like to know more about his reputation. my surgery is on oct 11.

If my band has been either too tight or to loose he or his staff have always been there to lend a helping hand. Hi all, I just moved to Boynton Beach from Kansas City, and while I have a surgeon picked out to help with my progress, I need to find a primary care doctor who is Lap-Band friendly. Do any of you have a recommendation for your primary care dr? I basically want to find someone who won't sneer at me as a Lap Band patient, and I know some PCPs are prejudiced (or just jerks). But I'm a Pre-Op looking at a surgery date some time in Nov I guess since my last office visit will be in mid Oct. I have contacted three surgeons so far in my search for a surgeon. The first office charges a $210 program fee that has to be paid upfront before they do their group meeting and get you started. They were unable to tell me exactly how much the surgery would cost with my insruace. They also said that I won't get to meet the surgeon until I have been approved for the surgey through my insurance. The second office has taken over a month to contact me. They charge a $2500 program fee. This is supposedly one of the most reputable surgeons in the area. This fee is on top of the surgery cost. They did not say when I could meet the surgeon. I had my LB surgery 4/22/08 and Dr. Johnell was my surgeon. I was an outpatient case and went home the same day. I love this practice and this doctor is wonderful. He is thoughtful, caring and his staff is incredible. I love my band (still struggle some days) but this was the best decision I ever made. His team taught me so much and took extra extra care to make sure I was healthy pre-surgery, tested, prepared and ready. I have had fills/unfills/fills and then unfills and everytime they are so nice. I have gained/lost/gained etc.. and never once did I feel they were judging me. I saw Dr. minkin 2 years ago about the lap band but was denied by insurance b/c i had not jumped through all the hoops. Two year later i go in And see him about the sleeve and realize once again i i do ot meet the requirements so my office visit was not that fruitful. Today i got a call that my insurance has approved me. I feel like this is a gift! So has anyone used him for a sleeve? I know he has been doing lap bands for years but not sure about the sleeve.

Has anyone had surgery performed by him or know someone who has? I have tried to look up information on him, and his complication rates. But I am not having any luck. I go to meet with his PA Winter on Sept. 26 and am scheduled for the sleeve on the 10th of October. The scariest part of this for me is actually being put to sleep, not the surgery itself. Dr. Kipnis, I am honored to make the first entry to your forum. For those seeking Lapband surgery in Burlington or Camden counties I would like to suggest that Dr. Kipnis is an excellent surgeon. He requires participation in the New Beginning Program that actually prepares you for the surgery and life afterwards. In the beginning I did not want to participate in the program because of the cost, but mostly because of the 2 hour drive round trip each time I went for an appointment or for the weekly classes. Hi everyone! I had my band placed January 19,2012. Since then I have only lost 50 pounds. I had my first fill at 5cc, a second at 7cc, a third at 8cc then had it taken out to 7.5 because of issues. Yesterday I went back up to 8cc to give it another try. I lost the entire 50 pounds by May and haven't really lost since then. I exercise but not enough so now I bike ride or walk 2x or more a week. I hope this helps. Long story short, I kind of feel like a failure for only losing 50 lbs when my goal is 100lbs. Any suggestions?! Thanks fellow Lap Bandits! (You know you laughed at the bandits!!
