Hi everyone, Does anyone know if you have a sleeve done at Duke University Hospital, do you get a private room or semi-private room? Thanks!

I need a new surgeon, my old Dr moved to a new location and I'm unable to travel to his new office, and I really want to go to someone outside of the 1-800-get-thin circut after hearing about their legal issues...I was wondering if anyone knew of any surgeons who are taking new paicents in the Lancaster, Palmdale, or Bakersfield areas. I need to see someone really soon. Last time I saw my old doctor he filled me to 9ccs, but Everytime I eat something gets stuck.... and I'm always hungry 3 hours after I eat anything.

Anyone have VGS with Dr Perez in Cancun with Ready4AChange??? Or having surgery with him? How was your experience???

Im still waiting for my sleeve but love the people at The Oregon Bariatric Center,they located at Sacred heart medical center Riverbend in Springfield Oregon, they treat you like family still waiting to finish the 6 month dietion meetings required by my insurance, they run great support groups and almost everyone seems to be doing great they will answer any question you have and take there time with your needs they are very experienced, doing the sleeve,rny,and band surgery My surgeon Colin MacColl, MD has a lap band so he knows what it is like to be a wls patient hope to get my sleeve in may http://www.peaceheal...ariatric-center

Has anyone used dr sanborn in Chattanooga. I have originally been planning on using dr. Ponce but they charge a $1000 program fee that you must pay out of pocket along with your portion left from insurance. I find that a little much. But have wondered if anyone has used Dr. Sanborn.

I'm wondering if any one has Dr. Darrin F. Hansen from Utah? what did you think of him and his staff? What should I expect? I don't know any one that has him as a dr. and just want an opinion. this will be my dr. Hi everyone, Im thinking of switching from emory hospital with dr scott davis to northside hospital to have my vertical sleeve gastrectomy. Reason being emory has a $600 program fee which is very expensive for me right now. Has anyone encountered a program fee at the hospitals they went to? Has anyone decided to switch their doctor and hospital? If so, what was the process? Was it difficult to do. Any and all information would be appreciated!

Had my surgery 3/7/13 the dr n nurses there were great had crying moments at home wishing i never did this the pain hurt alot and not knowing if what i am intaking is enough. Hopefully this is all worth it

IF you are thinking about Lap Band in the San Antonio area I strongly recommend Dr. Ramiro "Sonny" Cavasos with the Texas Bariatric. The professionalism of his office is OUTSTANDING! So I had my preop appt today and asked my doctor a few questions and here was his responses. What is his complication rate, where there are problems? About 1%, but they are not necessarily related to the sleeve; it could be pneumonia, infection, spleen. But they count that as part of the 1%. He does not remember any problems with the sleeve, but an incident with a bypass that they thought there was a leak and went back in to check and could find none. Is it just him doing the surgery? Hello! I am looking for anyone who can provide suggestions for experienced surgeons in Washington or Oregon with excellent stats. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts/advice as I search out the right surgeon for me! (Because of not having weight records with my PCP (as required for insurance coverage), this could be a LONG wait for me, but after giving up because of that, I have come to the conclusion that it is better to go ahead and, if it takes two years, that is better than just remaining like this for the rest of my (probably shortened) life.) Hi, I have my first consultation with Surgical Weight Loss Centers tomorrow. I am super nervous and very excited. I am just wondering if there is anyone on here who has dealt with SWLC? About 2 years ago I went to my primary care physician for help with my weight and I was absolutely humiliated and put on anti-depressants instead of receiving help for my weight issues. I took the pills for a while and decided that was not the way I wanted to handle things. I need help not medication. So I stopped taking the pills and have not gone back to the DR. I am hoping that going to an office that specializes in weight loss, I may be treated with respect. One can hope, right??

I did my measurements today since its unlikely I will lose inches by tomorrow..... I "only" lost 9 pounds this month....disappointing but expected because of the 24 potential workouts, I only did 10....the only cardio I got was swimming, the rest StrongLifts.....thats horrible considering Im supposed to be training for a triathlon... I started night shift the 1st of February and I just cannot adjust...my workouts ( and eating) have suffered.... I have one more month of this shift and I MUST do better... Despite, I lost some inches... minus 2 on both hips and waist...down another 1 at bust ( down to 34 B, I cant afford to lose anymore but I seem to lose here first)...…

Hi, I am new at posting. In March I have an appt with Dr Charles Finley in Atlanta. Has anyone been to him? Is there a long waiting period for the surgery? Also, I am on disability and was wondering if he will offer a discount. I have Medicare. Another thing is I live in South Georgia and am concerned about having to travel 3 hours to Atlanta if there is a problem. Surgeons in Macon and Albany do not take Medicare. So does anybody else live far from their surgeon? Thank you.

Has anyone used Dr. Borland in New Iberia, Louisiana? I had been researching going to Mexico for surgery as I am self-pay. But I came across his name on this forum and looked up his website. For only about $1000 more than the surgery I was getting done in Mexico, I can have it done in a neighboring state only 4 hours away rather than 13 hours away. I've only seen one reference about him on this forum, but he is the Chief of Surgery at the hospital he performs the surgery at and has been a bariatric surgeon since 1982. I have scheduled by surgery for Jan 29th, 2012. Dr. Shayani and his team at St. James have been nothing but helpful and kind!! They made sure I made it to this point and was approved by my insurance. Dr. Shayani is so personable, by giving out his personal e-mail and cell phone number in case I have any questions at any time. His success rate is amazing and he even teaches this surgical procedure to other physicians in the area. I can't wait to have my surgery and start a whole new life!! I would recommend Dr. Shayani and his team to the fullest!!

Has anyone used him as a surgeon for the Sleeve? I had a consult with him and seemed pleased so far. His stats however concern me. He's done over 900 Bypasses, 300 Bands, but ONLY 30 sleeves.

Michigan Barix Clinics Dr. Jamokay Taylor in Ypsilanti is awesome. He and his staff are extremely professional and he has wonderful bedside manners. I'm 4 months post opp and feel this was the best decision I made going with Dr. Taylor.
