Miss Undastood

Hey everyone...especially smashing pumpkins. I had surgery 2 weeks ago on the 3rd. The surgery went well. But now I need 2 get my stitches out and i can't get the ones by the port out. It looks like skin grew over it. Idk what to do. Also, the skin above the port looks like those water filled boils you get on your skin. Whenever I press on it, liquid comes out. And the skin feels numb. I don't think its infected. But the stupid thing is hard to take care of. Any suggestions? Thanx

Hey everyone...I just touchdown from the plane about 5 hours ago. I had surgery on Friday(1o-o3-o8) and I must say that I feel like sh*t. I don't wanna sound like a big baby.. But my shoulders ache and idk why, my throat hurt the first day(from the tube) terrible gas(that's expected but uncomfortable) The biggest shocker for me is not actually having pain from the incisions...more from the problems above. They put an incision on my bra line(how stupid) and it makes getting in and out of bed a real pain in my ass. Ok I just had to vent...now that's done...im so happy to be a bandster and im so shocked by the restriction im having already...cud be gas tho. I think I have a 1mm fill but I still have a hard time drinking water. Tea goes down just fine. Good luck to all of you future bandsters and all smashing pumpkins already banded.

Hey everyone...I just got home from the airport. Omg im in so much pain. I didn't think I wud be this gassy, have this much shoulder pain and walk like a have rubber legs..ugh

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. Im Starting to freak out now. Its like 6:30am rite now and im about to leave my home for the airport. Ahhhhh!!!!! Its really happening. In about 10 hours I will be a new bandster. Lata everyone.

Hey everyone...im didn't know that so many people wud write on this thread when I started it. Im having surgery on friday (1o-o3-2oo8) and im so excited and nervous but im so ready. Good luck to all smashing pumpkins. Ps...The Dr made me do an enema...so, im currently on my way 2 the toilet. lol

Omg!!!! Im so excited, and yet so nervous. Im surviving my pre op with no problems except the occasional headache. I went to get my passport to because im going to Mexico. I wish everyone good luck and yay smashing pumpkins...our month is here!!!

Hey Everyone!!! My surgery date is Oct 3rd. Im going to Mexico to Dr. Verboonen. I was told to start my diet 7-14 days before. I chose to do it for 20 just to be safe. I was told to do 2 baricuetical shakes: 1 for breakfast and lunch and then protein (chicken, fish) and salad for dinner and then a huger control thingy(metamucil) if needed. My problem: I won't be able to get my pre op diet stuff until friday and even though I've been substituting the baricuetical with slimfast, I haven't lost any weight!!! Any help on what im doin wrong?? Thanx

Hey everyone. I never had surgery before and im not sure of these kinds of policies. Do I need to have a my piercings removed for surgery? Also, I normally have my nails done. Should I remove the tips and polish or is it ok. I was told to take everything off my body but I wanted other opinions. Im getting banded on Oct 3rd in Mexico by dr. verboonen and dr. Ponce de leon. Thanx

Did anyone use these things before. They're both prescriptions and its made just for bariatric patients. Im having my surgery done on Oct 3rd with Dr. Verboonen & Dr. Jaime Ponce De Leon in mexico. I was told to take these products. Any help?? Please and thank u.

I am also being banded by Dr.Verboonen and Dr. Jaime Ponce De Leon. My surgery date is Oct 3rd. There are some negative things that I've heard about him. Appearently he was involved and charged for insurance fraud. At first,this made me a bit hesitant about going to him. But I don't think that fraud in this sense affects his ability to place the band correctly. Im still going to continue with Dr. Verboonen. This is the only negative thing I've ever heard about him. If u hear about anymore...please let me know. Good Luck With Your Choice.

Im doing fine. Im not as excited as I thought I would be. I've been through this process before. I had my date twice before and never actually did it due to scheduling conflicts. So I think I exhausted all my "cloud 9-ness".

There was a bit of a mixup. They have my weight recorded as 10lbs less than I am. At the weight they have me as, my diet is for 10 days but with my real weight it would be a longer diet.

I have a question everybody. I am going to start my preop diet a bit earlier but im not sure if im doing it right. I was told wat I should eat but I can only get in about 600 cal daily. Today I had 2 slim fast, broth and a nutrigrain bar. I can't eat anything else because im just not hungry. Is it a good or bad thing? What should I do?

I start today. I was told yogurt, protein shakes, jello, broth, apple, grape, & cranberry juice. I think some of the things I was told are dumb. So im just gonna do slim fast strawberry shakes for breakfast, and homemade beef or chicken broth. I can just buy some bouillon cubes and dissolve it it boiling water with oregano and call it a day. It tastes awesome.
