  2. I am thinking of going to Dr. Hollis, but I have read some things about his staff. Has anyone used Dr. Hollis? If so, what was your experience with his support staff? The surgeon is very important, but I feel like his staff is as important since I will have the most interaction with them.

  5. Dr. Erbella was my Lapband surgeon. He has such a wonderful bed side manner. He also did my tummy tuck 2 years after my Lapband. I still see him for my fills. He is in Bradenton Florida. I travel 2 hours one way to see him, that's how great he is. I have already sent 2 of my friends to see him, they love him too.

I was a patient of Dr. Rowitz at Anmed. I went to see him one day with an appt. and he told me that he was leaving. I had no idea that he was going to leave nor did I know why he was leaving. Does anyone have an idea as to why?

My sister is getting her sleeve on June 1st, 2012 with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. I was wondering if there is anyone else who is having theirs that day or weekend. I live in San Antonio so she is coming here from Mississippi and we are traveling together to Eagle Pass, Tx. I want to find some buddies that will be there at the same time! Please let me know if you had Dr. Alvarez as your surgeon, your experience, but especially if you are going to be sleeved on June 1! Would love to have a buddy to visit with while we are there and share experiences with.

  9. I was banded by Dr. Singh March 24, 2008. Dr. Singh was the third WLS surgeon that I investigated. I chose his practice for a few reasons: 1) I felt comfortable with Dr. Singh; his “bedside manner” put me at ease. He likes to make jokes – corny but funny ones, 2) I was confident in his ability to get me through the surgery alive – trust me I read everything I could about his practice. I wanted to know the statistics on patients lost, infection, and anything else I could find out. One thing I really liked was that Dr. Singh actually trained other doctors to perform this surgery AND (and this is important people) he likes working through the smallest incision possible. I h…

  11. Hi, Since Dr Spivak moved back to Israel, I was wondering what Dr. his former patients are now using? And any experiences (good or bad) that you are having with them. I felt so lucky to land on Dr Spivak's doorstep and now I feel lost. I am having some small issues and want to get this checked out. Also do you know where they left our medical charts? Thanks for your input Josie

  14. This is a letter I wrote to the practice administrator for Dr. Cywes and Dr. Pinnar outlining the many reasons I decided to go with another surgeon even though it will cost me more money and time. I wasn't going to post it publicly, but since they seem inclined to ignore my repeated requests for my medical records, I feel justified in doing so. For what it's worth I do like Dr. Pinnar, but the accumulation of all the issues below finally motivated me to make the change. Dear ******, I am contacting you as the practice administrator to request that all claims submitted to my insurance provider be withdrawn and to outline the reasons for my decision to go with another…

I would have my surgery date right now...I have to wait through the weekend! I can't take it lol. I was shocked he was the one actually calling me to schedule the surgery, and I was shocked that he was calling to schedule the surgery and not the pre-op appointment???? I'm so glad I was assigned to Dr. Zane :-) he seemed very nice at the seminar. ...

  20. I went through an entire process to have my surgery with Dr. McEwen. I found him to be a really wonderful person and doctor and he answered every question I had, as well as being very patient and understanding. He's a very peaceful personality and was felt good about my original choice in having him do the surgery. Unfortunately I had a very horrible experience with his office manager / executive manager. I had a very hard time getting through to this office most of the time getting a voice mail or answering service. I would leave messages and never receive return calls. I was told by the executive director that if I called multiple times in a day that my file wou…

  26. Found a 2 places I am interested in here in the US. Louisana has Dr. Thomas A. Borland which is now my 1st choice. He has some good reviews but on here they seem to be older ones. But his cash price is outstanding. Also Need info on Dr. Philip Gachassin and his partner Dr. Dennis Eschete Jr. They have a reasonable cash price good reviews but they leave a drain in for an entire WEEK? I really want to stay in the US. But If not the Aceves or Kelly will do my procedure. Opinions on the Drain also please. Thanks

  28. This is the doctor I've chosen. He seems like he really knows what he's talking about and speaks to his patients like they are real people. He says that obesity is a disease and should be treated as such. After my seminar, for the first time, I actually felt like I had hope. Has anyone else had experience with Dr. Gorjala?

  29. Hi all...Newbie here so please be gentle. :scared0: I am seriously considering a revision from a lapband to the sleeve and in the process of looking for a surgeon. I called Dr. Nicholson's office today to ask about a consultation and they told me that I needed a current Upper GI and EGB before I could even come in. Is that standard for any Dr. or is this just his office? Any advice/insight is greatly appreciated or any recommendations for a Dallas/Plano area surgeon. Beth

Hey all, my insurance doesnt cover bariatric surgery so I started looking else where, i didn't want to travel to Mexico. I wanted to stay in the US. I found dr. morris washington. I have my surgery date set for september 12th. Everyones questioning why its so cheap so i asked. Here was the reply: Ok ....why it's so cheap. Our bariatric program here at Conway Medical Center with Dr. Washington is new. Our former bariatric surgeon left this area about 1.5 years ago. The hospital recruited Dr. Washington from his practice in NJ (Freehold I think). Our facility was previously a Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery with the former surgeon. When he left, we lost that …

  36. Dr. George Woodman is my surgeon and he is the best. He has taken great care of me and I couldn't be happier. I recommend to anyone in our area that is considering having surgery to call Dr. Woodman. He and his staff are the most experienced of anyone in this part of the country and everyone that I know goes to him. He will not tell you what surgery to have he leaves it up to you and makes sure that you know everything you can before surgery. It still takes work to lose weight but it's nice to know that Dr. Woodman is there whenever I need him. Thank you Dr. Woodman!

I had my consultation, psych eval, and nutritional consultation all yesterday. I really liked everyone in the office, including Dr. Cavazos. He was just awesome! We got along really well. He's super down-to-earth and realistic. He thinks I am a great candidate for lap-band, and since I am self-pay, we can do my surgery as soon as I am given the O.K.--but the surgery day will most likely be after October 1 since I won't have the total amount until then. Very excited about this journey. Can't wait to start.

I was just banded may 22. I had not only the very best experience with the dr himself, but his office staff are phenomenal! They are extremely nice, quick, and so very well experienced that they know and are very sure if you follow their steps you will be approved. I already saw him for my post op visit, nd I must say I was very impressed by him and his very helpful RN who sat down with me for a while talking about food and nutrition! She was amazing !! I have to go back on the 27 for my first fill... Very excited I've lost 13 lbs so far!!!

  44. I got banded by him six years ago and lost 80 pounds (don't pay any attention to the numbers on my profile. They're very old and I haven't changed them yet). I chose Dr. Spivak because at the time he had the most experience and the best recommendations for Houston. He is very knoweldgeable and compassionate and has a great bedside manner. His staff is also very nice and that's almost as important.

I had my surgery done with Dr Feiz in May 2010 at his Encino Office. I never really went to check out any other Dr but him. I was referred to him from Family so I just trusted them and went to him. Because I wasn't too overweight to get qualified by Insurance I had to pay cash. So after the seminar I went to within one week I had my surgery and paid CASH for it as well. It's been almost a year and I've lost 40 pounds. Very happy for that I can say. Since my surgery I've had adjustments done by Larry his Assistant which I Love going to because he is very caring for his patients unlike the Dr himself which I've seen once after my surgery to this date. When I was researching where to go I did alot of watching YouTube videos , obisity help.com you name it I was reading. I knew that I had a doctor in fort Wayne IN an hour south of me to preform the surgery so I went to the semiar and filled out all the insurance info.
