Dr. George Woodman - Dr. George Woodman is my surgeon

Dr. George Woodman is my surgeon and he is the best. He has taken great care of me and I couldn't be happier. I recommend to anyone in our area that is considering having surgery to call Dr. Woodman. He and his staff are the most experienced of anyone in this part of the country and everyone that I know goes to him. He will not tell you what surgery to have he leaves it up to you and makes sure that you know everything you can before surgery. It still takes work to lose weight but it's nice to know that Dr. Woodman is there whenever I need him. Thank you Dr. Woodman!

I have to disagree. This man is an ego maniac. You can't even ask questions because he has to do the talking. Seriously, I had a successful surgery and lost a lot of weight but when you gain 5 pounds he will get ugly. He's overloaded now, working week-ends, starting up other locations. He's the only surgeon/doctor there. It is going to catch up w/him. Very arrogant man. Some of his patients believe his whole intent is to make you strong, but IMO a doctor does not treat patients this way. It's not just me. There are plenty of upset patients & spouses because of his rudeness.

I'm with you RobbieGirl! If he is the one I'm thinking of [ Memphis ], I went with Dr. Weaver and couldn't be happier. From what I heard....he has no bed side manner.

I have to agree with RobbieGirl.... I just had my surgery a week ago and I only met the man one time before surgery. I did extensive pre-op tests (as I am sure everyone did) but he refused to go over any of my test results because there were irrelevant to the surgery. IF they were so irrelevant to the surgery why did I have to do them? And its not because of insurance, I paid everything out of pocket, and those extensive tests cost me over one thousand dollars.

He refuses to see patients after their surgery for six weeks. I have called with problems twice, and Kelly, who is wonderful, said Dr. Woodman was too busy to help and she was sure what I was going through was normal, just stick it out! There is no doubt he is the best SURGEON in the TN/AR/MS area, but when it comes to every other piece of this process besides the actual surgery, he could use some work.
