Dr P is absolutely awesome! He has a great sense of humor. He explains everything so that the patient really understands. He is kind and truly made me feel that he cared about me. His office staff is equally as impressive. They are always available to answer questions. I was banded on 12/15/10 and would recommend him to anyone considering Wls.

This is my surgeon. I had to travel to Delano, Calif., to have my surgery by Dr. K. My insurance didn't approve of any surgeons in Bakersfield because Dr. K is an approved provider with better skills than any in Bakersfield. I also go to his L.A. office for my fills since I have to take a day off anyways. I love his bedside manner and he truly cares about his patients.

I've heard good things about Dr Abdulsalman Al Taie who is Dubai based, and have met some people who have had successful ops with him. Anyone want to chime in about him and their experience or let us know about any other surgeons in this area?

I'm hoping to be sleeved middle of June. I'm from MS but plan on using Dr Redmann in Slidell. If anyone knows anything about this group please share. Also if you've been a pt of Dr Redmann I'd like to hear from you as well. I've met with the nurse practitioner and really liked her. I'll have a meeting with the surgeon once I'm all cleared for surgery from my PCP. I'm a self pay patient and from what I understand I don't have to jump through a zillion hoops to have this surgery (Thank God). Any info would be wonderful!!! Thanks!

If anyone in the Harrisburg, PA area is looking for a surgeon, Dr. Matthew Davidson did mine on March 9. When I met him in the office weeks before surgery, I felt very comfortable. He answered all my questions. He met with me in pre-op to see how i was doing and to answer any questions I had before going into surgery. I felt confident going into the procedure. Weight Loss Clinic in Harrisburg is great! All of the doctors that I have met there are wonderful. Dr. Davidson gets 5 stars from me!

Has anyone else out there been banded by Dr. Wellborn? I love him and his staff! They are the key in my success. They always listen and treat me like a person not just another patient. I was banded October 2008. Weighed 200 lbs. Down to 137 with a BMI of 26. YEAH! Best decision I ever made both choosing Dr Wellborn and getting the band!

Can anyone recommend a primary care physician in Vegas? I am approved for surgery on 4-13 ((yeah)) but my PCP doesn't agree with WLS and said to rejoin WW. Needless to say I would like to find a PCP that supports WLS to do my follow ups with as I am going thru with the surgery on 4/13. The surgery center does some follow ups I know but I still need a new PCP. Thank u in advance!!!

Is anyone else having the same troubles I am? I go in and get my fill and he tells me to come back in 4 weeks. Then when I go to schedule my next appointment I can't get in for 8 weeks. Then two weeks after making my appointment they call to reschedule me and can't get me until 7 weeks after that appointment. This is the second or possibly 3rd time this is happened. I went through the roof and asked why they do this to me every time and they said Dr. Snow only does fills 2 days a week and only does 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. The doctor has surgeries twice a week. How are all of us that have had the surgery supposed to get our fills if he is only doing 6 …

I get emails all the time asking for these credentials so I am posting them for anyone to read: According to MSNBC.com last year 240,000 US citizens traveled to Mexico for some type of surgery. Anything from Lasik to joint replacement to Weight Loss Surgery. If that many people are crossing the border for surgery, and if there were that many bad outcomes we would be hearing about it on the news left and right. Instead the media has a tendency to exploit the horrors instead of the positives. We have good doctors and bad doctors in the US but when a bad US doctor does something to harm a patient we do not typically warn people not to …

I was scheduled to have surgery with Dr. Kelly in Tijuana in March, and the Medical Tourism company called me today and told me they are no longer placing patients with him for surgery, and offered to have my surgery done by Dr. Garcia instead. I am wondering if anyone has had surgery with him or has any additional information on him? His credentials look fine but it's a little unnerving to have read a little bit about Dr. Kelly's troubles on the board yesterday, and then have this happen today where they change my surgeon. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

I went for my first consult with Dr. Nguyen at UC Irvine. Everything I read says UCI is one of the best places to go in southern California. My PCP, although very much against WLS, said that should be the place to go. I also like the fact that it is isn't a private business. The aftercare and support programs seem to be pretty well established as well. However, it is a learning hospital. I forgot to ask if he would be doing the surgery. I am on the fence whether or not I want a resident working on me even if he is watching every move. When I was researching for the band last year, I was finding so many of the private doctors want $4k program fees and the like o…

I had my surgery May 14, 2010- Everything went great, and Dr. Groves was WONDERFUL- I really appreciated him coming in and praying before the surgery and being so supportive- I went in for my post-op 2 weeks after that. Up to that point, my weight-loss had been great. Dr. Groves said to come back in a months time. I go and check out, and get my appointment. Well, when I got home and looked, they had made it for 6 weeks instead. I called (thinking it was just an honest mistake) and they offered to move it up a week. Okay... But that is still longer that a month- So... As time went on, I could eat whatever I wanted, and was having to fight myself every day …

While attending a seminar given by Norton Bariatric Clinic in Feb 09 I meet Dr. Tanner. Off the bat I knew he was the surgeon I would chose to do my surgery. Dr. Tanner is very personable and made me feel at ease immediately. Dr. Tanner performed my surgery on 30 Jul 09 and within 30 min of leaving the recovery room I was already up and walking around. I highly recommend this surgeon!

Anyone banded by Dr. Bour or Dr. Rowitz? If so, Lets get together and form a lapband club or group. I think we could help each other. We could try to meet at least once a month, share stories, dine out(healthely) discuss whether or not we had any weight loss. If so, you could help us. If not, We could help you. We'll never know if we dont try it. Of course everyone's ideas would help. Please post back if you think this is a good idea. Lets try to keep one another motivated. I really need the help and don't want to give up.

Hi, I live in Australia and was banded in November 2011. I did a lot of research before I made the decision to get banded. But one thing I really really failed on is picking a decent surgeon. I found him on the Australia Lap Band website and thought 'Hey, he'll do. His closer than any of the others.' I didnt get a referral from my GP because I didnt actually have a regular GP until after my surgery. Anyway, my surgery went well, very painful but nothing too bad happened. But since then I have realised that my surgeon is a complete A-hole. I have asked him about a list of good nutritious foods for post-op and he said that Ill figure it out. I called him a few days a…
