Dr. Sidney Rohrscheib - Any others on here?

I met with Dr. Rohrscheib monday (feb. 22) he is very nice and answered all of my questions! I am really looking forward to my lap band experience with him.

Any other patients of Dr. Rohscheib on here?

I meet with him on March 8th. My surgery is scheduled for April 13th.

I won lap band surgery on the radio station and he is the one doing the surgery.

I am so excited.

Hi Chele.

Nice to meet you. I love your blog. I am just beginning all this so I really enjoy readings others tale of their bands.

His staff is the best. They are so welcoming and nice. Couldn't ask for better care. I wish all doctors' offices ran that way.

Hello! I met him on May 7th for my 1st visit in this hopefully not that long process. I go back on May 22 for my 3 in 1 Dr's visit (psych, nutrition, physical) and it can't come fast enough! Trying to read as much info as I can to help prepare for what's to come. I know they then send all that info in for approval, does anyone know what happens after that...I mean test wise, if approved? He was great to talk to, he spent like 45 minutes with me, what doctor does that? lol I have to even pay my deductable & 30% because he's a ppo under my BCBSIL but I think that will be worth it as apposed to being totally covered by a general surgeon that is under my insurance. I think it's best to have a specialist, they can explain more and understand our specific needs and questions. Any advice/tips/suggestions is much appreciated, new to IL and don't really know anyone....new friends always welcome! ;-)

Hi everyone ~ Dr Sid banded me on 5/4 and I've lost 18# since my "3-in-1" visit 2 weeks before that. My 6 week checkup is 6/18, and I am already feeling pretty good about this journey! I'm in Bloomington/Normal, if anybody is nearby!

Wow, you had your 3 in 1 visit then got banded 2 weeks later, I want your insurance!!! Tell me your secret! lol I had my 3 in 1 on May 22 and just waiting for the Psych Eval to be signed off on & the paperwork to be send it, they said it will take 2-3 weeks just for it to be signed off on before sent for approval, Ughhh

I'm near bloomington and Dr. Sid did my band on 5/29/12. Struggling a lot, thinking i should be doing better than i am. Post op visit is 6/5 and I think I'll attend the support group meeting on Thursday. Nice to have found this site though and hear from others out there that have been there done it and i' not alone!

thanks.

Oh gosh, it hasn't even been a week, how are you struggling? The first week is the worst, but it does get better as you see progress. Where is the support group?

Maria, I work for a BIG company and we do have good insurance. However, I started this journey in 2011, had to have my family physician follow my diet for at least six months, and he did NOT support me. So I switched doctors. Just at the end of the diet program, my insurance dropped that requirement and I was immediately approved. I was to have the surger in April, but it was scheduled a day before a wedding for a very close friend, so I postponed it until May. So, actually my "journey" was 15 months!!

Ahhh I see, our Dr. is a PPO for me so if it ends up costing too much, I might have to go to the only general surgeon that does lap bands under my insurance. Which is what I was trying Not to do...but we will see in the next few weeks!
