I had my consultation, psych eval, and nutritional consultation all yesterday. I really liked everyone in the office, including Dr. Cavazos. He was just awesome! We got along really well. He's super down-to-earth and realistic. He thinks I am a great candidate for lap-band, and since I am self-pay, we can do my surgery as soon as I am given the O.K.--but the surgery day will most likely be after October 1 since I won't have the total amount until then.

Very excited about this journey. Can't wait to start.

Okay, so here it is 7 months later and I have most of my $$ for the surgery. It is $12.5K and I have $8K. The other $4.5K will be put on my recently-paid off credit card--but it's a lower interest rate than CareCredit so that's why I'm doing it.

I've notified Dr. Cavazos' office and they've sent all the paperwork. Now I wait for their scheduler to call me. Very exciting!

Dr. Cavasos is a awesome guy. I wish I could chat with him more because he is so down to earth.

I really like his staff too.

By the way, they charged my insurance $63,000.
