  1. My ban removal is set for Nov. 6th and since I already bought my wedding dress, I'm thinking of doing the sleeve in July after school is out and I can recover and get used to the sleeve at home without rushing back to work. But, then again I can do the sleeve when my school is closed for Christmas break. I'm a teacher and we only get two personal days a year and I need them for the wedding. I'm just afraid if I loose too much, it will make my dress look weird if it's taken in too much. Any suggestions on what you would do?
  2. I just want it out... Too many bad things with it and it can't be guaranteed it won't happen again anyways. My friend had her surgery in Freehold. I was in New Brunswick. Now I'll be in Princeton.
  3. *saline not Dailey... Thank you auto correct
  4. When I got all the Dailey out, it actually felt like a release and my new surgeon said some people feel that. I'm still amazed I didn't have complications earlier but she also said that sometimes this happens.
  5. I went to a new surgeon today and hope to get de-banded 11/6/14, pending approval! Then I may revert to the sleeve.
  6. I didn't even know there was that much! I asked the new surgeon how much when she took it out and was just as surprised as you! LOL I'm in Mercer County. I see your an fellow NJ member too! Where about?
  7. Hi everyone! So I was banded on 1/19/12 and everything was going great. Then, I stopped loosing weight and after a few more months, I started to gain again. I am currently in the process to get the band out due to complications that seem more common than not in many patients. - Constantly vomiting, things getting stuck, can't lay on my stomach, random pains in band site (some severe, but only occasionally). Today I got all the saline out (my previous surgeon put over 9cc in and I thought it was 5!) Now I am planning on getting the band out on 11/6/14 and then the sleeve a few weeks later, although I am still contemplating that. Has anyone gone through this and can help me with what to expect. I didn't have much pain getting it in and was back to work 5 days later. (I'm a teacher.). How was removing it different for you?
  8. Definitely hate mine too... Just realizing it's not for me but I agree about learning about about yourself in the process!
  9. Ok so to be honest with you all, I had a complete break down today and I know I need my band out. There are days when i can't even have water or a piece of fruit without something getting "stuck." I hate this. I really do! I have a family friend who got the band and it worked great for her and here I am getting so much slack for wanting it out. I've cried numerous times over this but I know my best decision is getting it taken out, pending insurance approval when I find a new surgeon. I want to get a sleeve, maybe even in the same surgery and hope that can be done. How did you all decide that band wasn't for you anymore?
  10. Hi! I am in the process now of trying to get the band out! I am so uncomfortable (the last few months) and was banded in January 2012. My old surgeon didn't care once he got his paycheck so I am currently looking for a new one. I hope I can get it out. Honestly, I regret getting it and hope the sleeve will work out better for me! Best of luck to you!
  11. It was def easy to get down on myself! Its like everyone "knows best" because they had it done. I say now that everyone is different! We will do it on our own!! Just because I am younger doesn't mean I don't know anything!! New attitude this year!
  12. Thank you!! I know I ate and could have said no but that a disgrace in my family! We are traditionally set in many ways. Less macaroni is killing me!! LOL
  13. Thanks! Sometimes you need that drink for yourself! Def changed my attitude now! Its for me in the end!!

  16. I just bought a Groupon for 10 kick boxing classes!! So excited to start kicking fat off my own ass! LOL
  17. Hi everyone! So I started changing habits and I lost 2lbs this week! Its not much but its a new start! My bff lost 100 now and I have to say, knowing 3 people who had the band it is VERY difficult to not compare yourself to them. Especially when you see them on a daily basis! But, I did this for me, not anyone else! I am proud to have got this far and I hope these new habits help! I'm not eating until I'm hungry not just because eating small meals every 3-4 hours is supposed to happen. That wasn't really working anymore for and I guess my body just needed an adjustment. Even though the Jersey Shore is gone, I will have a beach ready body by July! I promise myself!! 2012 was a crazy year and I hope 2013 brings everyone nothing short of the best along with our own weight loss goals!!
