My Surgery is Oct 2nd. When is yours? Have you received your pre-op diet info yet?

My surgery won't take place until December. I was just going to follow the information that was given in the binder from the first visit. However, when I meet with Lori next month I will ask if I will get something else or just follow that.

O I C. Time will fly by for you. They are very good there. The book just says protein shakes n water but I noticed others r eating things like sf jello etc.. I guess I will wait and see. Well if you have any questions feel free to ask me.

You are absolutely correct. It also says 1 week, but I was told he gives 2 weeks. I hope it is only 1 week of the pre-op diet.

Let me get my book. I thought there was more to it...not really sure. Yeah, I'm only waiting because I'm in school. I finished my 6 mos. in June!

June?!? Ouch! Now I know why you are "patientlywtng"

I'm currently going thru the diet requirement, my last visit will be in october, i'm hoping for surgery in november. I'm really really hoping for smooth sailing.

Hello Juny. Did you finish all of your other testing and red tape?

Working on a bit of it still. I've got the treadmill test and the eh GI test. Once the last visit is done in October, they're going to submit. I'm hoping a month isn't too optimistic for approval. I'm still trying to find a shake for me. I really liked muscle milk but the light version isnt' sitting well at all. Right now I"m most worried about that.

Hi Juny,

Have you tried Atkins, Pure Protein, Designer Whey...any of these? I have tried them all. I usually drink an Atkins Advantage in the morning and the evening.

The pure protein was great. Meijer has it on sale this week in the powder form.

I use Muscletech Whey Protein Elite Series from Walgreens. Its the only one I ever used so I guess Im just used to it.

I'm going to probably try the stuff meijer has, I checked gnc and they seem to have relatively expensive protein. I think i'm going to try the designer whey next. I'm worried about trying the pure protein because it's expensive and if i dont like it there's still 2lbs left that i have to eat.... Are you drinking yours w/ water? I can tolerate the body fortress stuff from walmart just fine w/ milk but w/o it's just icky.

Ok, I went to my pre-op visit with the Nurse for 1hour then with Lori for 1hour. The pre-op diet is for 1 week and you can only have protien shakes mixed with water and water.
