I am curious if while loosing a tremendous amount of weight will also have you loose fat in your chest? I have a bigger chest size and I want to know if I will be able to loose weight from there during this transformation.

Last night I start to get pains all over my body. It's hard to describe, its like muscle spasms all over. I can't sit up or ill feel like my muscles are being pulled In opposite directions. I sat completely up and was nauseous so I laid back down. I'm so weak I keep moving from side to side, I went to sleep for like 30 min got up to throbbing In my arms and legs and I'm freezing. The heat is on 85 and I'm just hurting. I'm 10 days out has anyone else had this feeling.

I was banded in 2009. The day of surgery I was tipping the scales at 287lbs. The first six months was heaven and 70lbs gone. I decided to quit smoking at that point and my weight loss stalled. I got my first fill a year later and still was not losing weight. I started putting weight back on after smoking not because I was eating the wrong things but because my no metabolism body, really had none now. I went and got a second fill and still lost no weight. This year I was determined that I was getting below 200lbs if it killed me. My doctor suggested I try the ideal Protein diet to get my body in quick ketosis and she promised I would lose weight. In two months I l…

  12. I haven't been on here for a while - just been really busy with life (work, school, boyfriend - yes, I actually have one now!). I had my VSG surgery on July 12, 2011. On Wednesday, October 4, 2012 I had a checkup and just got my blood test results back from it and had to share with you. Every single blood test result they were monitoring is now 100% NORMAL - without medication! Prior to my surgery I was diabetic with an A1C of 8.8 - that is now 6.0 with no medication since surgery. My cholesterol is the best it has ever been. My Vitamin D has always been very low - is now in the normal range. No, I'm not taking the supplements like I'm supposed to - but it is still in the…

I finish my insurance required 16 week weight management program the last week of October and should be sleeved by the beginning of November. I'd like to have all of us support each other like people that were sleeved in other months did. Let's have fun! Where are you at in your approval process, any issues thus far? Tell us about you!!

...and I don't mean the temperature! OK, this will sound like bragging, and it IS a little, but remember where I'm coming from: I had been obese my WHOLE LIFE. I first had to wear size 38 jeans in junior high school. And now I'm wearing size 34, bordering on size 33. I was at the gym this morning -- it was arms day, biceps, forearms, trapezius, and deltoids (shoulders) -- and was working out HARD. I was looking in the mirror to check my form, and suddenly I thought -- who IS this guy? I realized that I'm looking... well... A-MAZ-ING! I mean I'm 42, so I don't look like a kid; I have laugh lines on my face, and (when I don't shave my head) a little gray around my tem…

I was getting dressed today and bent down to tie my sneakers. Legs perfectly straight. Bent over and tied my shoes. Didn't squat. Didn't bend my knees. Not sitting on the bed. Just bent over. Leaned a little further. I can almost put my palms flat in the floor. Not yet. But almost. With my legs straight. Made me realize that last night when I was out, I bent over the same way to pick up the darts I dropped. It the little things in life. Happy Saturday! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Is anyone dealing with pain post op? I'm 2 months out & I know there will be readjustment pains. What I'm wondering is if anyone is dealing with other issues. Everytime I stand up from a sitting position it feels like a little painful electric.shock going down my legs. I've never experienced this in my life. I've only been doing it a few days. I do have scoliosis and losing weight has irritated my spine but still, its so weird. The scoliosis is higher so it affects my shoulders and neck, not so much hips or legs. New Life Started 07/24/12

  27. Ok, so here I am posting one day early because I won't be able to do it tomorrow. I have lost 103# since April 3rd. I post my picture with a mix of emotions. I feel embarassed, ashamed, sadden, and disgusted that I didn't realize just how bad I let myself go. Here I am the day before surgery. In looking at myself, I want to seriously cry. I feel sorry for myself, my husband, and my daughter. All those wasted years. And here I am ...the old, new me...103# lighter, full of life! A proper mother, a proper wife, a human being begining to live again...I am thankful for my journey. I have more to go, but I am on my way. A caterpillar still in my cocoon. One day…

Can even get away with an extrA large from some places. I blame that on the girls. Lol. I think I still have fat eyes tho. Lol. I try to see the new me but sometimes I still see the old me. Ok, so I have been feeling really down over the last couple of weeks... still not at goal, and I have lost a pound in a YEAR! Yep, that is right... 12mths! No matter what I do, the scale is not moving - but, and this is a big but... my body is changing... not sure how, but it is! So, I was clearing out my wardrobe, putting summer things away and having a general 'get rid of that' type session, when I found some old big clothes. I couldn't believe how big they are - and these are not in my biggest size either (I threw those out in a fit of rage, cos they looked so ugly... so much material!) Anyway, to cut a long story short, I tried them on, for a laugh like! The…

Ok so I was sleeved on 8/27 so I'm 4 weeks post-op. I am down 34 lbs and can tell it's really working it's way inward. For a while now it's hurt to prop my feet up on the couch and cross my ankles (bone on bone) and my wedding band is loose. I usually take a shower but last night I decided on a bath. As I was propping up my legs to shave I discovered a long lost body part! No... not that.... I have a butt bone! LOL. I have lost a lot of my weight from this area and didn't realize just how much until I tilted back just a little in the tub and ouch! So I measured... I've lost 3 inches there!

So what now that I have reached one whole size goal, went into maintenance and decided to lose some more? I have become a nerd. It is true. I have entered the ranks of geekdom - but I am a proud spaz! I embrace it wholly. With that said, I wanted to take a moment and urge everyone to get out there and start doing the things you left behind - it was, to me, a most important thing. It reminded me of why this was all so important in the first place. Every Sunday, I dress up like a mideval warrior of some vague "Mordor"ish kind, and get out in a park in the middle of Houston and fight with foam-padded swords...and I do it for hours. I fight, I am good actually - I am …

I was 309lbs when I went to have a consultation appointment with my surgeon back in September 2011. I always considered myself as healthy except for my weight because I didn't have any comorbideties. What really got me wanting to do something about my weight was when my husband was in a motorcycle accident (June 2011) and he was diagnosed with diabetes. While in the hospital and dealing with his diagnosis, he turned to me and said "if any one should have diabetes, it should be you, not me". He's 6'1" and weighs…

So I stayed positive and had a great support team by my side. So after x-rays, a CT scan and a MRI. Along with multiple neurological tests. NO STROKE!! Praise God. Official diagnosis is Thorasic outlet syndrome. I can live with that. So now focus is back on eating right and taking care of myself. Three weeks post-op 23 pounds down .
