After almost two months of bouncing between 161 - 163 I finally made it to 159. I'm.so close to my 145 goal I can almost taste it. My ultimate goal is 140 to give myself some wiggle room. I'm a slow loser so evey lb. has been a struggle. I had to start exercising 2 hrs a day to get the scale moving again. I know I will start bouncing between 159-161 before I lose again because that's my pattern but I happy to see 150's. Hopefully it won't be to long before I see the 140's. Then the real struggle will begin. Learning how to maintain which I never been able to do for more than 5 mins before.

Hi all! I am 7 weeks post op and had an appointment with my metabolic physician today. I have lost a total of 37 pounds , I'm down one size in shirts, and 2 sizes in pants, I've actually been able to wear regular shoes (not wide-widths) that are comfy and stylish, and I'm also wearing rings and bracelets that I haven't been able to wear in years. I've had a lot of NSVs and I think they feel better than seeing the numbers going down on the scale (I'm also not weighing myself except for when I go to the doctor every 4 weeks or so). I hired a personal trainer to work out with and help me develop a good exercise regimen. I still have some discomfort every now and then w…

Hi VST Family, it's been awhile since I've posted on here and have finally gotten around to getting new pictures taken. It's been 7 months since surgery and I have lost 95 pounds. I feel so much better and have actually shopped in a regular women's clothing store for the first time in 19 years. This has been such an amazing journey and can't wait for it to continue down into onederland. Thanks to everyone on here for their amazing support and advice. I could not have done this without all of you.

I am not sure how to detail this but looking back I remember how difficult it was to get down on to the floor and tons worse to get back up again, without rolling on to my knees and struggling to get up. My knees would be hurting, my back would be killing me and I hated it and it was embarassing. OK that said here is my NSV~ Last Thursday I was running a group at my work. A patient had a seizure and I had to run over and help hold him into place on his chair so he would not fall on to the floor and hurt himself. Then we had to lower him to the floor and I sat on the ground next to him to reassure him and to check on him while help arrived. I had to hop up undo the…

Haven't been here in a while! I still keep getting PMs through my email, so I figured I'd drop by. Been pretty busy with school/work lately (I'm a few months away from finishing medical school). I remember how few people still stick around the boards once they've maintained their weightloss for a few months, and how much the newbies love to see people who are a few years out. For those who are not familiar with me, I joined these boards in June 2010 and had my VSG with Dr. Aceves on Aug 9, 2010 at 208 lbs. I reached my original goal weight of 150 lbs within 5 months; my lowest weight to date has been 135. I'm maintaining around 140 now (I'm 5'5" and have a large frame).…

And I am so thankful! I have lost 75 lbs so far and I would like to lose another 30 but I'm not pressuring myself.... I went from a 22/24 to a 14/16. I never thought I would get down to this size and there are some 16 jeans that are already too big! I workout 2-3 times per week and I mix my workouts up between kickboxing and the elliptical. The support between family and friends is unbelievable. My favorite is when people Who I've known for a long time walk by me and don't know who I am.... dde00 My biggest piece of advice is don't pressure yourself... If you've been cleared to eat regular food and you're craving something... Like pizza or ice cream or chocolate, …

Howdy! School and 4H has kept me so busy - I have to try and remind myself to post here once in awhile! I am so glad to be posting on the "success Stories" forum.... Want to hear of a great NSV (nonscale victory!)? - kids went on a canoe and kayak event with 4H, my eldest didn't have a partner...so I did it! I climbed in both a canoe and kayak - and didn't drown us! I paddled and had a blast! I NEVER would have attempted that at 300 pounds!!! I am continuing to slowly lose weight - I still weigh every morning, and I really shouldn't. I know the long tern will be in a down direction!! I live life 100% normal, the only difference is I eat a LOT smaller portions than I use to. I have a friend who had bypass about 8 weeks before my surgery and he has had nothing but problems. So happy I choose the sleeve. If your thinking about the sleeve do it! So glad I did!

I would get on the scale and it would say 220.2 or 219.8 or something like that for two whole weeks. I wasn't too stressed because my 1X stretch pants seem to be about to fall off and I put on a pair of Medium stretch pants and they fit just right (although they are probably already stretched out from last I was able to wear them and gained weight - but of course the 1X is probably stretched out to 2X. so, here's the deal. I work with kids in my church and have for years. I started at 5'6" and 373 pounds. So far I've dropped 142 pounds and am down to 231. Today, after service there was a boy around 7 years old that I've known for most of his life. He was just staring at me, so I went over to talk to him. He got this great big smile and said "Dude, you used to be REALLY FAT, but now you're just a little bit fat"..... I don't know what was funnier. His completely honest heartfelt compliment, or the look of absolute mortification on the face of his older sister as she tried to correct his 'tact'. But, that totally made my whole day. I never thought I'd be posting these photos, but here I am! These past 6 months have been amazing. I'm down 76lbs since my surgery day, and 83lbs total. Ive gone from a size 22 to a size 12... and I'm still going strong! The only hard thing at this point, is that I'm working out so much, and weight lifting, etc. that the numbers on the scale dont move as fast as I'd like. For instance, I've only lost 4 lbs in the last 3 weeks. But, my clothes are fitting better, and I can see a change with my eyes, just not as much on the scale. I met with my dr on Friday for my 6 month post-op follow-up, and he told me to pull back on the carbs... I admit, I've been eating more bread…

The theatre in my home town is so old that the seats are tiny and you can't move the arm rests for more room. To get into the seats I would have to squeeze in and it was painful to squeeze past the armrests much less sit comfortably. These seats are so small that my fiancé who is not overweight is not comfortable in the chairs. We went to this theatre yesterday because we didn't have time to get to the bigger theatre before the movie started. Well, I was not only able to get into and out of the chair without rubbing against the armrests I was able to watch the movie semi-comfortably!! Granted I don't think anyone can sit in those chairs comfortably. But I actually h…

So I went to Wal-Mart (cause that's how I roll) and found several pair of pants, went to pay for them, and started putting them on the counter. It occured to me that I actually wasn't trying to hide the size when i put them up there. Pre-weight loss, I'd turn the pants over to make sure NOBODY could see what size it was because it was embarrassing. But tonight I was like, YEAH, THATS RIGHT! I'm just curious how you all chose your goal weights. I'm doing a little bit of bouncing on this one, as I've never been below 182#, in my post-puberty body. The charts & formulas all put me around 135-147#, with a minimum low of 121#. Lately, though, I've found some "success stories" both WLS & non-WLS, who were about the same height & start weight as me... One is now 125# & frankly, looks skeletal to me. Another is 175 & still going but looks really good. And there's another that's abt 155 & looks good but has lumps of skin. I guess maybe I won't know until I get there...? 347*294/285/135 (*347HW/294SSW)
