I had my sleeve surgery on June 12. I lost 30 pound pre-op and have lost another 50 post-op. I am thrilled, thankful... and now seem to be stuck. It's been about 2-3 weeks with very little movement weight wise. I have increased my exercise. I still have 100 pounds to go so I sure don't want to stay at this weight. Any tips on helping my body move forward with my weight loss? Thanks!

I saw my surgeon for a fill this evening and he declared me a lap band success! He said he regards a successful bandster as someone who loses between 50 and 75% of their excess weight. I've exceeded the 75% mark so I definitely qualify in his calculations. He was also pretty impressed that I turned up on my bicycle for my appointment. He lives in the same small town as I do but practices in another town, about 30 minutes freeway drive away, so he knew exactly how far I had ridden to get there and how far I had to get home - well, not exactly because I don't ride on the freeway, which adds a few more kilometres. I cycle commute to work (30km each way), twice a week, …

I have lost 95 lb from 335 lb on july 2nd and have gone from a size 48 to a size 38 pant size. It has been a lot of work to eat cleanly, take supplements, drink enough and get the daily exercise in. Weight loss is definitely slowing down, but that just means I need to up the workout intensity. Goal is 60 more lbs to go and also to have a muscular body. Feels good to be back in the 38s...

Need to know if Medicare covers the sleeve in the Cinti area for people over 61 years old. Please step up because my surgery is in 2 weeks. My BCBS will not give me a pre-cert because I have Medicare and it is primary. If Medicare does not pay , BCBS will not pay either. I can not afford to pay for this surgery. HELP

Today is my 16 week surgiversary. I've lost a total of 65 pounds. This has been a week of reaching milestones in my weight loss journey. This morning, I weighed the very lowest amount since 2004. My weight this morning was 199.6!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I originally set this as my goal weight for December 31. I’ve lost an average of 3.73 pound per week or just slightly over ½ pound per day!!! At the three month post op mark, they project that 35% of excess body weight should have been lost. I lost 48.4%!!! I realized that I’ve now lost more than ½ of the amount of the weight recommended to be within a healthy body weight index (bmi). These are just the recent victories…

Hi guys. It's been weird here in NYC because my doctors have DISAPPEARED post Sandy. I didn't get to have my post op appointment at NYU or my esophogram. I call all the time and the say they will call back but don't. I called to see if I should advance my diet, no one called back. So I'm just winging it. But it's going ok. The weight loss is encouraging of course but eating is weird. Dies this sound normal to you? I am never hungry because I always feel stuffed. Yes, stuffed. Food goes down fine... I'm on mushies. No stuck episodes. But I can't eat much at all, I know that's the point, but I'm on mfp and every day it tells me I'm eating too few calories. Yester…

So I need to clarify that it is not 84 lbs since surgery, it is 35 before the 2 week pre-op Optifast diet, 20 lbs in the two weeks of Optifast, and then 29 in the 6 weeks since the surgery. Either way it is 84 lbs since the end of Feb/beginning of March. I feel great and am about 45-50 lbs from goal at this point, 185 was my HS athletics and military weight (6 ft tall). I keep thinking to myself that I took the easy way out becaue I have worked my butt off in the past to lose weight, and always have, just could never keep it off. Now I am losing with only basic gym time and I never feel hungry. Although I am only down 4 inches on my jeans, it is deceiving becasue I …

My name is Robyn, I had the lap band put on on Dec 26, 2010. It is the best decision I made in my life. My top weight was about 320lbs. My family doctor has it at 314lb, but when I had an appointment I would not eat for a couple days so I know the 314lb was wrong. The day or my surgery I weighed 295lbs. I just got weighed the other day and it was 157lbs. I lost a whole person I am the strongest, thinest, healthest, and the happiest I have ever been. I thank God everyday for this medical miracle they call the lap band. I tried for years to lose weight with all kinds of diets I lost and gained I felt like a yo yo. It was easy to change my life style when the help of the b…

My BMI at 29 no longer qualifies me as OBESE! I am just overweight... what an amazing feeling. Just being able to drop that label of obese is crazy and something I never thought I would accomplish before I had this surgery. Just wanted to share!

I have avoided this forum for so long. I had RNY in June 2008 and have gained back weight. I started out at 328 lbs. and lost down to 175 lbs. I was doing well and had continued to lose. In December of 2010, my oldest son passed away suddenly as a result of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (Cirrhosis) due to meds he had been on since a brain tumor in 2001. That completely threw me off track and it has taken a year and a half to get myself together. I had gained back up to 246 by not following the food plan recommended by my surgeon. When Brandon died, I really had no appetite but people kept saying "you have to eat, you'll get sick". I take full responsibility th…

It might not have been a long ways to go to get to onderland but it came so fast. 2 weeks post op exactly. Havent been here for years and I don't plan on leaving still holding my breath to get over the 6 week leak scare (I know they can happen anytime but 6 weeks is my magic number tip I can put it in the back of my mind). Recovery has been a breeze thus far. Seeing everyone's posts and pics are such a great help and inspiration to a newbie like myself.

Well, for the last couple months I'd been having serious problems convincing people my driver's license was really mine. I looked absolutely nothing like the picture on it anymore. I have to fly in a couple weeks so I thought I'd better get a new one before then for fear security wouldn't let me pass because my ID didn't even look like me. So.. here is my old and new driver's license pics. On left taken November 2011. On the right October 2012. Almost 160 pounds lost

Love reading all these posts of successful weightloss, I can't wait to join in (surgery date dec 10) Before wls, how many of you guys EVER used the phrase "it's been so easy" or "I dont even workout" when it came to weightloss? I love it! Did you ever think in your wildest dreams that it could be done, let alone by you?

I was banded July 2009. I statred out at 252 lbs and lost over 100 lbs. I got down to 147 lbs.. I was on top of the world. Until my band had slipped. I had gotten some fluid taken out to help it fall back into place. I was able to eat more comfortably. Then I had decided to get even healthier by quitting smoking. I quit in January of this year and have put back on 30 lbs. I'm so afraid this is just the start of a downfall.. so of course with the weight gain my self loathing is back and the depression is starting to set in again.... HELP, What do I do?????

U was sleeved in Sept. 12 of this year and I have had my up and downs. I have been on this journey for a year and I am happy with my small success. Today @work I had my yearly physical. When I walked in the nurse said that it looked like I had lost some weight. I told her I had surgery. When I got on the scale it said 408.6. Last year it said 477. I couldn't believe it. That's almost 70 lbs that I hope never to see again. I know that if I hadn't gotten my sleeve I would still be weighing 477 maybe even more!! Just wanted to share.

This morning I got out of the shower to my 2 year old awake and needing to potty. I normally put my bathrobe on but was too lazy so I wrapped the towel around myself. To my amazement the towel actually wrapped around enough to be tucked on and it stayed on!! I love all these small reminders that I am changing :-)

So I had to gain 5 more pounds to have a body mass index of 40 to be a candidate for VSG I have no health problems what so ever (thank god) but now I have to diet for about 21 days prior to surgery. My health insurance is fidelis. Does any one think I will be accepted by this health insurance please I néed some sort of opinions regarding low bmi then gaining extra pounds to be a candidate for surgery then dieting once again thanks.
