I was sleeved in May of this year. No doubt, the best decision I have ever made for my health and happiness. Getting the results I wanted for my weight and fitness took more work than I expected. I had an idea that it would happen very naturally as the result of having a smaller stomach... silly girl! VST was a major source of information for me in the early days, and without some of the information I learned here I would have been lost. MyFitnessPal is an important part of my daily life, both the community and the weight loss and fitness tracking. I started at 255 on my pre-op diet, May 3. Had surgery May 10 at 245. Currently at 145. (I am 5' 6").

So I attempted Walmart today. I really just wanted to get out of the house. It's only been what 5 days so I have this tendency to hold my stomach w my hand when i walk on that one incision that your stomach came out of. Anyway... As I'm shopping, I notice another lady holding her stomach in the same way. We kinda caught each others glances and she says have u had surgery? I laughed and said yes and u? She says yes I had the sleeve... I was like me too!!! How funny... We exchanged stories and I told her about this app. Hope she was able to find it. So Lizzie let me know if u did... And good luck

I'm usually a 10, but have been able fit into some 8s depending on the fit. These were pretty comfy. Not bad for still being considered over weight by 6 lbs. Go figure...

I know this might sound crazy, but I am so thankful for gaining 3 pounds. Just think about it for a minute and I'm sure most of you will agree with me. I have NEVER gotten thru the holidays having gained ONLY 3 pounds. Before the sleeve I could easily have gained 3 pounds in just one day and now, since Thanksgiving I have gained 3 pounds. Every day at the office there are tamales, baked goods, chocolates, etc., and then just this week we have had three different Christmas luncheons. Now don't get me wrong, these 3 pounds are NOT STAYING! I have already signed up for a pilates class that starts after the 1st, and when I leave work today I will throw any/all food/good…

When I chose my screen name last year, I knew that I would live up to the name. I am literally a new person since my vsg on 12/2/11. The girl I was (i say girl, but im 33) was 266 lbs, unhappy, and beginning to go downhill healthwise. I started the process and it saved my life. If I had not, I would never have discovered and conquered severe sleep apnea and high blood pressure. This has been a complete life style change. I am down to 163 lbs. I hit exactly 166 on my surgiversary, which was amazing to me that I lost 100 lbs! I went from a tight 22 to an 8, 3xl to medium, heck my shoes even went from 8 1/2 to 7 1/2!! I will say that this wasn't always an easy road. I…

Hello anyone else having this, I had the flu two weeks ago and I'm not complaining or anything really I'm not but just curious, I can't eat like I used too. It seems like i am back where i was when i was three months out. I can't even drink a 8oz protein shake without being in full force tummy pain. And I'm almost six months out my calorie intake went from 750 back down to 400 on good days. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this after they had gotten sick. Sincerely Linda

Am four weeks out of my gastric bypass. I was 250 and now I'm 227. I'm in the third stage but even with my shakes I'm not getting in more than 500 calories a day. Is something wrong with me? Why does it seem like everyone else has lost way more than me at 4 weeks?

Can't help but wonder aren't we just doctor controlled Anorexic? Been thinking that we will be living on minimal food to produce weight loss? My husband was confused how this is any different then starving myself. Reality I didn't have much of an answer on the differences. Can anyone help me answer that question?

I went in to my appointment. They said i was doing good. I am a total of 58.5 lbs down. Feelin good. They cleared me for full workout(weights) as well as fruits and veggies raw/cooked. Im aiming for 75 in the next 3 months. Hoping to complete a 5k. 58-lbs gone... Gone for good. See ya It was funny one of the other nurses asked how i was doin she said she could see the difference. Fam and friends have said the same. Good to hear.

Well yesterday marked my 6 weeks post sleeved and all I can say is yippee! I am down 38lbs I did lose a few before surgery, and I'm not really sure if those count or not. I guess in the big picture, its just a number that I will not let control me any longer. I have not been the best at doing all the "right" things, but reading other posts, I can see no one really is. I can only try to do the best that I can. Thanks everyone who post encouragement to others, it is truely appreciated by all who read them. I am so looking forward to seeing my extended family this weekend and finally feel good about being just me. Merry Christmas to all and bring on the New Year! I will…

I was sleeved 2 1/2 weeks ago..lost 10lbs on pre op diet..then 12 lbs since Dec. 3rd surgery. 22lbs altogether..haven't lost anymore..its been a week of no loss..eating 1ounce of tuna and a piece of cheese for lunch. A 1/2 a hard boiled egg and a quarter of banana for breakfast...for dinner 1/4 cup of fat free refried beans and another 1/2 of egg or another piece of cheese. 1 cup of fat free milk and a scoop of protein powder..lots of water all day...that is it..Why am I not seeing more of a steady loss?

I accidently uploaded my current progress photo to facebook. My friends and family wrote such nice things about how I look, it made my day! I decided to print it out so when I have a bad day I can read about what a hot smoking mama I am...hahaha. It is like taking the compliments you get while losing weight and bottling them up to use when I need them.

So I started at 199. My highest non-pregnant weight of my life. The only time in my life when I didn't feel fat was when I was at 135. I am 5 feet 5 inches. So I am now down 20lbs and weight is 179 (big yay to that). But to me, I am still terribly obese. I see these photos of other women who are at the same weight as me and they look fantastic. I just don't understand how two people the same height and weight can look so different. This road is both harder and easier than I expected. Maybe I am just frustrated because I am in the dreaded 3 week stall and feel like 20 pounds is all I am going to get out of this. Ugh

After 10 months of battling every lb and working my butt off. My Mom finally said now it really does look like you've lost weight. At least she's honest. Plus my size 12 jeans fit me way to big. I think size12 is fine but it won't hurt my feelings to have single digit size jeans.

Today I ran a 5km race. I had my sleeve on Aug 1. If you told me earlier this year that I would be running again, I would say you were nuts. It felt great running this race and it will not be the last.

Hi All, I havent been here for a while but thought I would come back in and share some things with you all. I am now 15 months post op and living a normal life. Ihave lost close to 160 pounds and while I am still classified as overweight for my height, I couldnt be happier with my body and shape...I have the curves I always wanted...now just to clear up the skin issues. I look great in clothes And it feels good to be able to say that. None of this didnt come without hard work and committment, the surgery is just a tool, the rest is pure determination. My friends recently did a video of my journey and the changes, motivations for doing it..a bit of a doco so to spe…

I'm Rh negative and the surgeon kind of, while reading my medical history, pointed it out. I asked if that was an issue and he said that I might lose a lot of blood because of it. :/ just wondering if anyone else has this and has gone through surgery. How did the surgery go? My WLS date is Nov. 28th.

Went to Knott's berry Farm last night and was able to get on all of the coasters! Admittedly, a couple of the belts were tight, but I could have never done this six months ago! This is a huge milestone of many and many more to come. I know I sound like a cliché infomercial, but the sleeve is the best thing that's ever happened to me. C'est bon la vie!
