First pic 6/18/12....second pic 12/14/12. Down 140 lbs
-
Well its been 2 years since I was banded. I have changed my goal weight a few times, but at this time I have it set at 140lbs...I am currently at 155 lbs. I haven't been this weight since highschool and I can't believe I am in a size 10...down from a 26! I am very happy with my results, but I think i do need to get some body sculpting, or body lift proceedures. My arms and thighs are a bit loose. I am thrilled with my results....I feel healthy, and and lighter, other than the hair loss and vitamin issues ( those issues are being remedied) I haven't had any huge problems with my band. I am so greatful and happier than I have been in a long time. I wish everyone who is star…

The past two weeks have been like living in a dream! Yet, I have to pinch myself and say, "No! This is really happening!" This gonna be a long thread, can't help it. I, need to share with others the joy that is in my heart, the tears that begin to well up in my eyes, and the laughter that floods my soul! Today, it has been 4 months and 16 days since I was sleeved! My journey started April 9, 2012, my first appointment. My sleeve date was July 30th. I've lost a total of 97lbs, since April, 81 of which since sleeved. This time last year, I couldn't stand more than 5 minutes without my back and knees hurting and would have to sit down. My blood pressure was through the …

For me this is somewhere that I have not been in 29 years!!!! THIS MORNING................ 199.8!!!!!!! Thank you so much Sleeve, I could not have done it without you!!!
-
A friend of mine just got fired for drinking on the job. He had the sleeve done last winter. I think what has happened he was a drinker but once he got the sleeve, the alcohol was no longer absorbed in the stomach. It passed through to the intestines & had a faster & stronger affect. It became a problem before he knew it. Does any one know about this? This should be a warning for the drinkers out there.

Hello all, tommorrow December 13th is my 1 year anniversary ! If you had told me a year ago i would be this happy with my body i wouldnt of believed you . My surgery and recovery was a breeze, i follow the Dr. s food rules 95% of the time, swim 3x a week and walk when i can. I was 5'3 weighing 225 lbs, tired ,out of of shape, wearing a frumpy size 18 old lady clothes. Now i weigh 163 with a goal of 140. i have lots more energy, feel great and my sleep apnea is gone ! I wear attractive size 14 clothes, get nice compliments and like what i see in the mirror. This was by far a good decision, so if you have any doubts, just imagine how good you'll look and feel in a ye…

so something silly to share.... This morning I was shaving my legs and for the first time in months it wasn't a big struggle. But as I looked down I realized that my leg shape and tone are changing. Haven't really paid any attention to them, never really did because my big belly was always in the way, lol. But since I have been exercising, walking and strength training it seems they have become shapely! Who would have guessed? The simple joys I find along on this journey are amazing to me! Feels great to be going down in size for a change!!

Just wanted to share a small NSV that is only one of many I have experienced.... Yesterday I caught a glimpse if myself side view in the mirror and actually thought to myself....damn I'm getting skinny! So today I put on a pair of jeans that I loved so much but could only wear unbuttoned with a belt to hold them closed and a long shirt.... Today... Buttoned and belted but to hold them up!!!! I have never regretted this surgery for one second and doubt I ever will...40 pounds, 5 months and feelings years younger. 58 to go!!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

After not getting sleeved on November 6 due to a spike in my heart rate in the middle of my gallbladder/sleeve surgery, I was finally sleeved yesterday and feeling fine. Surgery was picture perfect, I was up walking around a few hours later and broke up the one gas bubble I had. Woke this morning and had my swallow test, no leaks and everything was perfect. Got started on my 1oz at a time Water sips and found if I could tolerate 8oz. In 4 hours I could go home.... So here I sit, warm and comfy at home. Just sipped 4oz of unjury chicken Soup over the course of an hour and still doing really well. After my bumpy start, I had a text book finish. WHEW!!!! Pai…

I was hoping for some feedback...I'm undecided on whether to have the lap band or gastric bypass. I hear that with the band you still feel very hungry, is this true? I was told that with the bypass you do not feel as hungry? My biggest fear is feeling hunger! Can someone please advise me?

Today after a great therapy session, I got up and left. Halfway out the door I stopped dead. I realized that for the first time EVER I was able go get up and walk away without having to pull up my pants from rolling under my belly. Very good feeling.

So I ate a large dinner (no sleeve yet) and told h about how I was going to have more self control later on life and he said "that's not self control." It kindof upset me (but not much) because this is the only way I CAN accomplish self control. and I think putting my SELF on that operating table so I can gain control IS self control. Thoughts?

When my husband and I were married in late 2010, he gifted me with a beautiful diamond cross necklace. The accompanying chain is very fine and expensive. I immediately knew that the necklace was not long enough and would be more like a choker. I bought a magnetic extender for the necklace so I could wear it comfortably. I hate the extender because the necklace is so lightweight that the extender works its way to the front all of the time. Each time I wear it, my husband is always commenting that the bulky extender is showing. So....yesterday, I put on the necklace and I realized that it is longer than I like. I took off the extender and put the necklace back on me and Vio…

That I was chain smoking last night. This dream was better than the food dreams I have. Lol. I have been smoke free for 7 months and cigarettes are still the first thing I think of when stressed. I wonder if this ever goes away? On a better note, I'm 6 months post op, down 81lbs, wearing size 12 pants, and feeling better than I ever have. And I'm enjoying my newly single & sleeved status.

I have a million things to say, but this has been both a very hard but also the very best year of my recent life. Wow, I am just thrilled! When I see that before photo, I remember and still love her. I love how brave she was to keep trying, no matter how many failures at getting the weight off. I think she looks hideous on the outside but I know she was beautiful and strong on the inside, it was just so hard to see under the fatsuit. So - starting weight size 308/ size 26W stuffed Current 175/size 12 loose - can wear most size 10s and even a size 8 skirt the other day! NSV - a million of them!

This mornings weigh in gave me such motivaton to keep on going! I now weigh 299 for the first time in at least 16 years. I simply could not hold back the tears!! It has been a journey, but I must say a very easy one so far. I have had no sickness, I am feeling great and have really started to embrace this new lifestyle with joy. I look forward to my morning workouts, I actually look for extra walking to do around work too! Never in my life would I have thought I'd look for ways to exercise! I just cannot express how over joyed I am this morning!!

These are photos that I took with my fiancee this year. One way pre Lap band for a party we went to in May. The other was taken on 12/9 when we went out and celebrated our 9 year anniversery. It's nice to stand next to the man you love and enjoy seeing the 2 of you together rather then thinking how fat you are next to them!

I have lost 85 lbs from my highest weight of 302. I am now 217. I went from a size 22-24 to 14-16. I feel so much better mentally and physically. I started training for a 5K run last week. It is going to be at the end of January. I am very excited. I have had a lot of support from you folks on this forum and I'd like to thank you. I have 40 lbs to goal. I will be hanging around here for a while longer.

Today I weighed in at 151 pounds. This is 62ish pounds from where I started 4 months ago. As I was filling my bath I noticed it takes a LOT longer. So, in the peace and quiet of my bath I tried to visualize what 62 looks like. Wow! 9 average size newborn babies The weight of 8 gallons of milk This is 12 pounds, so this times 5! Or...12 of these! WOW!

Is anyone willing to post pictures in a bathing suit or something that shows some skin? I'm paranoid that my skin is going to be saggy and ugly when I lose a lot of weight. I'm 267 and 19 and I'm wanting to get down to 125...does anyone have any thoughts or pictures? I know working out will help so I'm planning on doing a lot of that. Will my skin be yucky or will I be able to wear 2 pieces?

NSV #1 - So I am at the dog park today walking with one of my male dog park friends. As we are walking, one moment we are talking away, the next moment I am on the ground!! I was knocked over from behind by a dog. Needless to say I was in shock and a little embarrassed, but here is the good part. My male friend offers me his had to help me up; the first thing running through my mind is OMG he is not going to be able to pull me up!! WELL pull me up he did, I actually felt "light" if you ladies know what I mean, he didn't have to grunt or bend over!! Thinking of this now it was an amazing moment, I haven't felt like a "light" woman in a very, very long time. NSV #2 - I wa…

Hi All....I feel like a new person and LOVE my new body. I have lost 70 pounds and am truly enjoying yoga classes and power walking and weight lifting. I am almost a size 10.....a little snug yet....but 12 fits beautifully. I feel that at the rate I have lost this weight I will be a size 8 before I know it! That is of course unless I let food interfere with my plans to be healthy and happy again........as I am a little afraid of what is happening...and what could happen in the next few weeks. There are soooooooooooo many bad things to eat around at work....... I am tired after work and have grabbed a burger too in the past few weeks......of course I can only eat half…

Today, I am able to say I've lost 80 pounds. I am not yet at goal, but I do want to get into a normal BMI, which means losing another 14 pounds. It has been 16 months since my surgery. I lost pretty quickly at first, but I went into a LONG stall where I didn't really lose anything but did maintain pretty well. I was eating well and exercising like a fiend, but it wasn't coming off. I was changing my body fat though. In September, I upped my Water intake and lowered my calories, and the scale started moving down again. The losses aren't as fast as they were in the beginning, but they are moving down. Water intake really seems to be the key to me -- I have to drink lot…

Hello everyone, I am so glad that I have joined the losers bench as of Dec 3. When i first came out of surgery I was in so much pain, I had a H hernia repaired and with that and the surgery I was in severe pain. It ses like it ook forever for them to hook up the morphine pump. I had woke up before they got me to recovery. I was screaming and saying what have I done, I should have never done this, will somebodyplease help me. I can look back on it and laugh now but in the beginning it was not funny at all. When we got in the recovery room, there was about ten more people out of whatever type of surgery they had but they laid there quietly. Finally one nurse said, Your room…

Since having my surgery last year on Nov 9th I have noticed several changes in my body but just recently I have noticed a MAJOR change. Now I know it's Sunday so I am going to try my best to say this as tastefully as I can. But it seems as I continue to lose more weight another part of my body is growing. I guess I can add that to the pros of having weight loss surgery..atleast from a man's point of view!!!!

Well tomorrow will be one year to the day and I have to say that I am a new gal, I was not expecting the results that I have had. I feel wonderful and would not change anything that I have done. i waited a while to have this done debating on if this was right for me. I deliberated would this be right and I now which I had not waited on this. I started out over 300 lbs. when I got the process started. I had my surgery and started loosing. I have changed lifestyle choices on food and exercise. I have not been one to count all the protein and calories etc. but I have made choice on how I eat and this is the best way I have done this. I exercise on a regular bases no…

I haven't posted in a while, but thought I would post before and after pics. I was sleeved on 12/31/11 and hit my goal weight of 200 lbs in a little more than 9 months. I have been maintaining my weight now for 3 months. My wonderful wife, and support system, has lost 35 lbs by just watching what she eats while supporting me. She has been a great help and is at her ideal weight. The sleeve was a life saver for me and I am more active now than ever. This site has been a great help for me and I appreciate everyone's encouragement. Thank you!!

I finally did it - I finally hit the 200's! So excited to be under 300 and be living in Twoterville. I have worked really hard to get under 300 pounds and finally made it at 9 1/2 weeks post-op. (Starting weight was 333 and now officially 299) Not sure what I will make my next goal but I am excited about the journey I am on thanks to my vertical sleeve surgery!

I must confess that today do to extreme stress I let the old me back and eat like crazy all day long. In my 9 th month out and have not eaten like this for about a year. 4 people shoot outside my home my car drenched in bullets, had I been in it I wouldn't be writing this post and the beast in my belly and brain was released stressed and sick to my stomach, is this a bad sign is stress going to destroy my hard work. Always been an emotional eater but I was sure I had beaten that battle, slain on the weight battlefield today, but happy to be alive. Sorry for the rant

I was being wheeled into the operating room for the most life changing surgery I have ever had - my VSG. I've lost over 170 pounds form my highest weight - that I know of, the last "official" weigh in I was 375 pounds and I KNOW I weighed more for a while after that, I was spiraling out of control and eating like a cow. I dreaded the scale so much I refused to weigh in, till I arranged off my VSG and started my self imposed 2 week pre-op diet. Would I do it again? YOU BET! It's not been easy, it's not been pleasant at times but it HAS been WORTH IT. If you have not had WLS surgery and are thinking about it, as I always state it's YOUR decision, but PLEASE, PLEASE …

We were at a lovely "Candy Cane Tea" at a local hotel today - reviewing the photos it hit me that how I am holding my daughter in the latter photo was similar to one from when we were on vacation this summer, when I was at my highest weight, so I thought I would compare. VSG 2.5 months ago, down 68 pounds total (18 pre-op diet) down 2 sizes - no signs of sleep apnea, off 1 diabetes med, soon to be off another. In general feeling wonderful for this gift of health. Looking forward to continued success!

Ok so i recently went to victoria secret , i wanted to see if the clothing would fit me. I go in and pick out cute sweatpants in a size Large, the sales girl looks at me and says " these sweatpants are boyfriend cut , meaning they run a little big, you should get a medium" , i look at her in utter shock! Could you imagine, she thought i should get a smaller size?! In December i was a size 24 or 2xl..... Now a large!!! Unreal..... ( my surgery was 10/3/12)

so today I had to go to a wedding .... needed some pantyhose...went to Lane Bryant. But was told Lane Bryant doesnt sell pantyhose any longer, just tights...control top tights... I havent worn tights in 40 years! But in a rush bought them anyway. Got home started getting dressed and this is how it goes..... The skirt I planned to wear was too big...had to change to a black dress I have, it was ok...but kinda baggy. Picked out a "sexy" kind of bra thats always been "tight"...it isnt anymore!! Put on the tights, without a problem!! My black dress shoes were too big too!! had to wear a flat pair! Dont get me wrong, I love the fact that everything is getting bigger...…
