  3. Follow your doctor's orders. Sip water until you feel like you can't drink anymore and then get another glass. Walk around as much as possible, but get plenty of rest too!
  4. What an injustice. You are the patient/customer. You need to stand up for yourself and your rights. You should report this incidence to the doctor and if there's no change then report it to his/her boss. I bet the administration would not tolerate this PA treating you that way. They want your money or your insurance's money Good luck and hang in there!

  7. Hang in there everyone. By day 4 or 5 you'll feel sooo much better!!!
  8. I was Jan. 17 too. Seeing and smelling food will never taste as good as it feels to be thin Keep up the good work!
  9. I hope you both are doing well. I'm still trying to figure out how to use this darn group I've created. Today is 4 weeks since I started my preop diet and I'm one week postop and down 30 lbs. Yeah. Still a long way to go though!
  10. My port hurt for about 3 days and is now just uncomfortable. I'm 6 days post op. As for gas, chewable gas x worked a little for me but mostly walking helped the best.
  11. Oooops I meant pain is NOT the right word for me
  12. Pain is the right word for me. I was in a great deal of discomfort, mostly from being blown up with CO2 for the surgery. My first three days post op were not fun, but on my 5th day now, I'm feeling soooo much better. I did and will continue to walk walk walk!

  17. I'm not going to lie. It's one of the hardest things you'll ever do. I'm 5 days post op. Once you're in your second week pre op and you see yourself losing weight, it will give you the strength to keep going. I lost 17 lbs on the pre op diet. You need to stick to the diet because mentally after the surgery you need to be able to cope with not eating (drinking liquids) as much. You'll have a couple days of "bandster hell" and then you'll start feeling better and stronger each day. Hang in there. It's all worth it! Oh, and exercise...don't overdo it...just walk walk walk walk walk
  18. I'm being told 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks mushies and then solids. On day 4 post opt and am so not interested in solids yet anyway...still working hard to get the liquids down.
  19. 3 days post opt for me...today is by far the best I have felt. Still am very bloated though. Food is very powerful and you must control it. I, too, am stuck at home right now and every damn commercial is about food. Remember just cuz you cant eat cookies doesn't mean you cant give a donation
  20. Yeah I was bad at first too. I caved in to have soup and crackers but it gets easier --- just hang in there!!!

  23. Hi...the preopt diet is hard for the first few days, but don't give in! I've lost 17 lbs so far and surgery isn't until Thursday. The first couple of days I did have soup for dinner as I couldn't stand not having any 'substance' but I've weaned myself off that. I recenlty discovered powder peanut butter and mix it with my chocolate protein shake. Remember you can have popsicles and drink lots and lots of water or crystal light. Keep in touch!
