I'm just curious if anybody else has the same situation. I'm 5'6 but when I'm sitting I'm actually taller than my husband who's 6'! I'm wondering how this affects my sleeve size and my "goal" in the end? Anyone else?

So I had my first follow-up appointment yesterday with my surgeon since being sleeved on 9/5. I feeling pretty good so far and he said I'm having a picture perfect recovery. I was shocked, though very excited, to learn that I've lost 18.5 pounds since my surgery just over a week ago. I've been cleared to move on to the next stage of my diet to pureed foods. I'll be on that for 3 weeks before I graduate to soft solids. I'm not looking forward to the next 3 weeks of trying to come up with things to eat that satisfy me, but I am looking forward to continuing to see the positive results of getting my VSG.

This is the most I have ever lost in one shot. I am a big fan of before and afters but I have decided that I will post pics when I reach my ultimate goal - the difference even now is ridiculous and quite shocking actually lol. Only 19 lbs to go for Onederland, and 88 for my personal goal - yipee My husband is down 115 lbs and it virtually unrecognizable - one afternoon I was driving home with our daighter and saw a man …

  7. The title says it all. I hit 50 pounds lost in 3 months since starting the pre-op diet on 6/12/12. I had surgery on 6/26 and haven't looked back! I thank all of you for your stories and support during this process. I may not post much, but I so enjoy reading everyone's questions and comments and after my husband's support, it's been the next best thing I can imagine. I still struggle with feeling fat and not seeing the loss when I look in the mirror. Then I see these pictures and freak out! I've lost a ton! Congrats to everyone! I finally hit onederland today!!! As of this morning i've lost 90 pounds since I was banded on March 1st. The last few months have been a struggle, but this last fill i recieved a few weeks ago really did the trick. Now i know what everybody has been talking about when they mention the green zone. What a great feeling. The only regret I have about this whole experience is not getting it done 10 years ago.

  9. I haven't been posting lately because honestly.. im not sure what else to say.. I have had one hell of a journey these past 6 months.. and I feel terrific.. I just want to let anyone out there that worried know.. if you work your sleeve it will work for you!!!!! I couldn't be happier.. Im not even sure that I want to hit goal because im really happy with where i am at right now.. i always said that around 160 would be good for me because i have a lot more muscle than most so at a heavier weight I think I look ok.. So instead of waiting to hit goal I am officially posting my before and after pic. Again a huge thank u too all of you for your support during my journey I hop…

I was obese for over 20 years and it took me exactly 13 months to.. not only get to a normal weight but my dream weight!!!!! I use the word finally because these last 15 pounds have been S L O W compared to the rest of it. I lost an average of three pounds per month for May and June....then I kicked it up a notch and cut my carbs back and lost a whopping 7 in July.. stall for most of August, then bam! Lost the last 3 pounds this weekend! Lordy, I hope it stays off. Here at the end, I tend to lose 2 or 3 pounds then gain 2 back and it takes me 2 more weeks to lose it again. So I am …

Down 105 pounds and finding more comfortable sitting positions at work. I can cross my legs under my desk, almost indian-style too. Today I had slipped my shoes off under my desk and crossed my leg underneath me. Then BAM! I slammed my toe into my desk drawer! My toenail ripped halfway off and started bleeding. Hurts like ___! Some might not see this as an NSV but before I only had one position I could sit in at work. It just made me laugh and think about how many little things we don't realize are affected when we lose weight! And, an awesome one... took the trainer at my gym up on her offer of one free session. I REALLY need to learn how to tone more. We did upper bod…

But it took doing this collage to realize that I am living my dream! I am happy and healthier than I have ever been. I'm marrying the man of my dreams and family members I dearly care about have decided to seek surgical options for weight loss after watching my struggles and finanlly my success.

I am just thrilled with my weight loss progress. I was camping this weekend with my horse and some other horse friends. One of the ladies only met me a few months ago and didn't know i used to be so heavy. We were talking about getting back to the gym now that fall is here, etc and she said to me "but you don't have much to lose" - I considered that a big NSV as I am still nearly 40# over my goal. Even my goal is still technically "overweight" but it made me feel good to be seen as "normal" range. After I got home, I was lugging stuff from my rig back up to the house. There is a small hill up the driveway, no big deal - I often jog or run up this little hill if I a…

And I am down 27 lbs! But my loss has been really strange. I won't lose anything for 5 days then I'll drop 3 lbs overnight... and I can't stop weighting myself everyday. gah. Good news: I have been cleared for all foods and I was told by my doctor to start with chicken. Bad news: the two times I have tried chicken it came back up... I only tried it twice (on different days) because I thought maybe I didn't chew it up so well the first time. Found out it just doesn't sit well with me at all. I hope it is temporary but we'll see.

In April, when i stepped on the scale, that I had been avoiding all winter, I weighed 287 lb. I knew that I had to do something drastic. I had tried and tried and failed and backslid, for the last 10yrs. I decided on lap band, as it seemed less invasive than the other types of bariatric surgery. I found a wonderful surgeon, Dr. Chris Coburn, in Mississauga, Ontario. The day of my consult, June, 21st, I weighed 284lb. My surgery was scheduled for July 27th, because I was a self pay, I didn't have a lot of preliminaries to take care of , besides a general medical check up and a two week full liquid protein diet. I think the liquid diet was very beneficial for me. Besides …

So excited to have made it to what is 1/3 of the journey down for me. Survived a 10 day stall and am currently 4 days from regular foods. For me these first 6 weeks, that seemed like they would take so long with the recovery and special foods, seemed to fly by. Thanks to all of you and the support you have given me, and thank you Jesus for the hope and freedom that I have.
