I just want to see what others felt have been there biggest OMG moments after surgery. Mine was this summer....we went on a family vacation this summer to SoCal. First OMG...the plane ride. I FIT!!! Last time I flew I overflowed out the seat and had to use a seat belt extender....this time, fit comfortably between the arm rests and no extension. I even had slack left over once I cinched the seat belt down!!! Second, we went to six flags....and again I FIT!!!! Last time I went to six flags I had rides I embarrassingly had to get off because I couldn't fit........this time, FIT ON EVERY FREAKING ONE OF THEM!!!! And the final OMG, I'm not ashamed to say the sex wi…

It is my 6 mo surgiversary and although I have lost 93% of my excess weight I am not feeling so great. Despite going from size 18/20 to 6/8 I can still see that huge obese woman in my reflection and it scares me. Some days I fall back into old habits and get lazy to go to the gym so I've found myself purposefuly throwing up. I know this is not a good thing and I am fighting hard not to do this. Yes i probably need to see a therapist but i thought maybe some of you can help in sharing your experience.

I'm starting tomorrow despite my doc only requiring the 48 hours. Oh boy- need positive vibes because I can talk myself out of just about anything unless a doctor tells me I "have to" do something. When that happens I don't ever stray. Ugh- here we go! Good bye my sweet olive garden!

I celebrated my one year surgiversary on August 9th, I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. What a wonderful year it has been. When I started this process it seemed that 6 month class schedule that my insurance company required was the worst torture of time for me. Then the big day got here and I was on my way to becoming the new improved me. Now a year has gone by since that wonderful day and I am not only new and improved but the best me I have ever been. I am so happy with the results of my Sleeve. I have lost 47 pounds and am working on another 10 for my final goal. My doctor is so happy with my results and said I am actually 12 pounds below the …

I have developed a new love for drawstrings as a measurement of my success. I have several pairs of "stretchy" pants with drawstrings from before surgery. I love putting them on now and seeing how loosely the knot is tied. So much fun, makes me smile every time I see it.

So I do everything right at work and apply for my short term disability through their contracted peeps and I get a letter denying me FMLA as I haven't been there for a year. I must add that despite this letter I'm moving forward. This can only mean they don't have to hold my job. According to our policy (I work for government) I qualify for STD after six months. I've surpassed that. So. I really am not reading too much Into this other than its yet another thorn in my side that isn't needed. . I'm trying to battle this bronchitis before surgery and I certainly don't want to be running around figuring all this out. I have calls in to both the contracted person as…

My first goal was to lose 10% of my body weight. I was 293 the night before surgery. I hit the 29 lb (10%) loss mark during the 1st month after surgery. I am now 6 weeks out and almost at my 2nd goal which is to weight LESS than my boyfriend for the first time in 4 years. I was always SO embarrassed that I weighed more than my boyfriend who at 5'10"/250 lbs is no lightweight. I don't think any woman could ever be comfortable with that. Men are supposed to be bigger. Period. Then in the last couple years I started to realize that I weighed more than many professional football players! That blew my mind and made me feel soooo bad. I love watching the Green Bay Packers, but,…

Start weight 265 on August 31st, Friday. I wasn't going to weigh in til next weekend, but they threw me on the scale today at my follow up appointment. Drumroll please.... 252! Really, 252?! Now I understand this is mostly Water weight, but 13 pounds in 4 days is simply exciting any way you look at it! Yay!

If I EVER say I regret this- you all have permission to come slap me. I'll give your address. Counting the days to surgey. I HATE the way I feel right now and unless I have some life threatening complications- I am ready for what's after surgery. I'm so thankful for every single thread on here because I feel so much more prepared for what I can expect and things that may come up. That doesn't mean I won't repeat because I can truly appreciate the need for validation happy sleevin' folks!

I am 2 1/2 weeks short of 6 months, i go in for my 6month check up tomorrow and I am 89lbs down, I really hope my doctor is as happy with that number as i am. But i do just want those 11lbs to go to put me at 100 lbs and them 8 more pounds to put me at 299. I am just so happy with the weight i am losing.

TO THE CENTURY CLUB???!!!!!!!!!! I ranted on here a little bit the other day about not hitting 100 pounds before I went back to school... well it finally happened 2 days later! I waited out the 2+ week stall before taking pictures and now I attached some below. Before is February 2012, 4 1/2 months before surgery. I should be over the moon but it's just so surreal to me... I guess I'm just a pessimist and still see myself as fat (which I am). I had a bit of a breakdown this morning when I posted one of these pics on Facebook because I was embarrassed and humiliated of my before picture. Don't get me wrong, I know I'm gorgeous and I was quite confident 100 pounds ago b…

When I started this journey, I set in my mind that I would consider the sleeve a success if I got under, and maintained under 200# within the first year of surgery. Well, I am just over 8 months out, and am now seeing "1" as the first number on the scale. I have not been under 200# since the late 1980s!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, it is hard to believe I am finally here. I never got under 200# when I was banded - and I had that band for 10 years!!! The sleeve really does work. I attached a photo from 2 days ago - and one from a month or two preop. When I showed my son the before photo, he was shocked, he didn't remember me being so big. It shocks me too, so I get it. Bef…

The first number on my scale this morning was a 1, yay!!!! It has not been a 1 in five years so I'm super happy today! My weight loss hasn't been as quick as some others but I am so happy with the progress I have made. I love my sleeve! I weighed 260lbs 1 week before my surgery, 251 on the day of surgery, and 199 today. My weight loss slowed after the 2nd month, I now lose about 8 pounds a month (which I will gladly take!!!) I did have a ton of hairloss but it has stopped or at least slowed greatly. I do take my Vitamins everyday along with Biotin and Iron. I feel like my weight loss is coming off differently than in the past when I've slimmed down before having kids. I…

I'm just about 10 weeks or so since my surgery (6/18) and in down about 66 pounds as of this past Monday. I know I've listing the weight. I see the scale moving. I know my clothes are too big. I know people are telling me I lost weight. There are little NSV that tell me I lost weight like ankle strap shoes fitting and my heels not hurting and driving my mothers car without moving the seat back to fit. But why when I look in the mirror do I see the same body I saw before surgery? Does anyone else feel this way? When did it go away? Does it go away? I can kinda see it in pics but I don't feel like its me weighing less so much as just the clothes that I'm wearing. I at…

Today I'm a month and a day out. I'm off my bp meds and my cholesterol meds. I'm down a pants size and feeling pretty good. I started off at 222 and this morning I was 200. I'm so close to onederland I can taste it! I'm so glad I did this. There have been rough days and I still struggle, but the benefits outweigh the drawbacks for me. Oh, the pic where it's the m ost obvious to me is the one from behind. I never realized I was that wide.

Well after sweating it out for a few weeks with no loss at all I seemed to have gone from 203 last week to 196 this morning. Not sure what happened unless I am retaining fluids bad. It is hot and humid down here and I have always retained in the summer, my feet have been killing me for weeks now, seems they feel the fluid overload the worse even if they don't look that bad. Anyway I am FINALLY in the hundreds now. 55 down and hopefully 71 to go to 125 and even if I don't get that far I will settle for the 130's to 140's. Woot!!!!

Hello fellow sleevers! Its my 3rd day out of surgery ( Aug 22 sleever) and I am feeling better. Some background info on me because I am not sure where to even start! I am 30 years old from NJ/NYC. Around Feb I weighed a staggering 517lbs. I was walking around disney world in FL thinking, hey, where are all the people my size? I'd like to think Im the type of person who doesnt even know hes fat, until its too late. ( what do u mean this bar on the haunted mansion ride doesnt go down???). Around that time when I came home from FL I realized that while on my vacation I slept noticably better. I blamed me no longer drinking coffee and sugar as the reason I felt so great on …

OM Goodness!!! I had a stellar day out on the lake. When I was younger, I loved to tube. For those who don't know what that is..you have a boat, some rope, and a tube like air inflated raft or other device....attach rope to tube and boat, hold on for your life..and go! I haven't tubed since I was a normal sized athletic teenager! I thought.."can I even hold myself up because you have to hang on while this boat is pulling you" well..then I thought..this is the mentality that got you fat in the first place..just try". I lasted 30 minutes...amazing!!! It was just like riding a bike... I remembered how manuver my body to swing the tube out and I was parallel with the bo…

My mom sent me a cute new top from Chicos, just as a really nice thing to do for me. I was thrilled that if fit because I could NEVER shop there. The clothes have always been too small for me. So I had my daughter take a picture so I could send it to her with my thank you. It was the first time in years that I actually wanted my picture taken and the first time, in as long as I can remember, that I actually liked what I saw. Below is a picture taken of me a few weeks before surgery and the picture of me today. I guess its time to start documenting my progress in photos. It has been exactly two months since my surgery. I have lost 52 pounds since that photo was tak…

At the start of my journey on 4/9/12, my weight was 366lbs and my BMI was 61. It was my first clinic visit. I was sleeved on 7/30. At my 2nd post op visit, I'm down to 314lbs and my BMI is 52. I still had to use my walker because of my knees, arthritis, but, I didn't get short of breath or break out drenched in sweat. I know this is just the beginning, but, I had to pat myself on the back because I can't believe I'm really doing this! My only regret is, I WANT TO CHUG DOWN A BOTTLE OF ICE WATER!!! If only, lol!!! My fear is, Lord please don't let me turn into a cougar!!! Ok, I'm cracking up over here!

Hi All, I'm new to this app and thought that I might share my story with you all. This month marks the 2 year anniversary of being banded. My life has changed in more ways than just the weightloss. I managed to lose 51kg (approx 112 pounds) and over 2 metres from my body. The weightloss encouraged me to leave an unhappy marriage and try my hand at a career that I didn't think I was smart enough to do. 2 years later and I am in a relationship with my soulmate ( who I might add is 10 years my junior) and am getting paid to do my dream job. I am still trying to get my head around the weightloss and to see myself in a new light. I love shopping for new clothes, knowing that…

I am having to drop my daughter off at school this week. Normally, my husband does it because I have a 30 mile drive to work and he works in the town we live, therefore if I take her, we leave extra early! My daughter doesn't mind because usually I will get drive-thru Breakfast which is a rare treat for her. Anyway..she loves to eat a sausage patty sans the biscuit and a 1/2 of a hashbrown and a small sweet tea. (hence why it's considered a treat). Granted ..it smelled really, REALLY glorious, and deliciously breakfasty! She finishes her normal amounts, hops out the car, we say our goodbyes, have a good day, etc, & I drive away...my thoughts start to focus on tha…

(No pictures this time. I HATE photos; I'm so damned pale and washed out that I always look corpse-like and OLD in my photos, whereas in real life I'm looking pretty damned HOT! ) So I was sleeved in May 2010. It's about two and a quarter years out. I started at 338 lbs. At that weight, I was miserable. I was sick all the time, everything hurt all the time. No clothes fit properly, unless I just bought everything in tent-like proportions. I had multiple chins, moobs (man-boobs), rolls and rolls of fat around my waist, a fat ass, fat legs, everything. I felt awful. I couldn't walk very far without becoming winded and my feet hurting. I couldn't stand upright for very l…
