I'm eleven days post - op and having all of these insane cravings. Especially , for foods I can't have at this stage or maybe ever .like chorizo with sour cream. I'm still in the liquid stage and know this is more a head game. What do I do to stop it?

I am 3 months out as of yesterday. I have lost 69 pounds! I am delighted with my sleeve! I have more energy, I eat better, I exercise 3-5 times per week, and I don't regret it for a minute. My skin is loose everywhere. My husband says it is like I have a fat suit. I am sure that this will tighten up as the weight loss slows down. I know that I will have to have a tummy tuck as I have had two pregnancies and one of those was twins and I went full term. I am able to eat everything (though I don't) and have not found anything that I can not tolerate. I watch my protien, and keep carbs low, though I am not a fanatic about it. I can't wait to see how much I loose and…

I am officially 6 days post-op and weighed myself for the first time since surgery this morning. I really wanted to wait until I lost most of the swelling. I was in a lot of pain and I didn't want to add depression if I hadn't lost anything yet. Well, I have lost 15 pounds in 6 days! I cannot express how excited I am. I have had a rough few days, but I am feeling so encouraged and ready to take on the world! I am so thankful that there is a procedure like the sleeve that can give me my life back! Praise God!

More than any of the good things that have come out of my surgery, I take great pride in the fact that now I've inspired three people to have weight loss surgery based on my success (the most recent had hers on Monday). Two of them had VSG (I talked both out of lap-band), and one had bypass. I hope that they inspire others to do the same. It truly feels great to have that kind of impact on the lives of others.

I have been doing Zumba 2 nights a week since June and 2 nights of weight training/cardio. I went to my Zumba class last night and after class my instructor Robyn said to me...in front of the whole class how good I looked. She touched my waist and hips and said how much of a difference she sees. I felt soooo good for the rest of the night...a natural high for sure! Yaaaaay me!!!

Last night I had a meeting for my son's high school football team. I had not seen many of my friends from football since before the summer. It's only been 10 weeks since my surgery, but I got so many compliments on how great I looked. I have not felt pretty in YEARS! Last night I felt like Miss America! I also felt confident and happy. I am amazed at the psychological change losing weight brings on. For those of you experiencing stalls early out and stressing over them.... I have had two so far (am currently in one now) that have lasted a few weeks. Trust me when I tell you, your body is still changing for the good!

So I have seen a ton of women's before and after photos, but not of men..I am trying to gain some inspiration. Is it because more women have than men? Is there a reason for that? If you dont mind share some. I love seeing all of your results and makes me less scared of surgery.

The number on the scale started with a two this morning for the first time in decades. That leaves 99 to onederland. Do we have a term for this milestone? Twoderland sounds dumb but I'm not coming up with anything better.

Hi, I was just reading a topic on head hunger and I ran across this in my email section so I thought that I would just post it here. I struggle with eating when stressed out and emotional eating. I haven't read the info yet but am afraid it might just be an advertisement. If it is, there's still no harm in sharing this. Please enjoy.

This must be the night for "Booth or Table" NSVs!! Hooray!! 7 months ago, I went to this pizza place here in Albuquerque, and the only place to sit was a teeny tiny booth for 2. I reluctantly sat there with my husband, and I had to SQUUUEEEEEEZE myself into it, and then it was hard to eat because the table was pressing me in half and I was hanging out in the aisle. I cried in frustration and embarrassment. I told him at the time I was going to come back in six months and make that booth my B***H!! Well, here's my B***H: Take THAT booth!!

I've lost over 120 lbs in a year and finally have a couple pictures to show the difference. The after shots are from my recent bike trip to Sturgis, South Dakota and the Black Hills. All I can say is I feel great!!

Yesterday it was in high 80's and now today it's dropped down to the high 60's. I was actually cold so I went into my closet to pull out my once favorite black cardigan. The cardigan I wore the day I had surgery and I haven't worn in many months. Holy cow, I couldn't believe how huge it was on me! I mean, I guess I should've known because I've dropped 5-6 sizes since then, but putting that sweater on was a "wow" moment. It really put into perspective how far I've come. Especially considering the day of surgery, I couldn't button it because it was too tight across the tummy if I did. So, I thought I'd share the difference. Here is me in the now massive sweater

I am soooo glad I had my sleeve done! I am like so many others - my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!! I am LOVING my food - shrimp, salmon patties and crab are my favorites - but have also enjoyed baked chicken and taco meat! I love how my clothes are fitting me and how I fit in the theater and stadium seats without my butt touching the sides! My dimples (on my face) are more pronounced, my jaw line and chin are more defined...and I have my cheek bones again. I can definitely tell I am losing from the top down!! My sleeve puts up with my love of spicy stuff - haven't puked once or been in pain. I know my breakfasts are small, but I can get 3-4oz at …

I Am sharing my Facebook post to my friends: Well, today was my 6 month post-surgical visit with Dr. Pinson and here is the run down: I am down 111# and 100 some-odd inches. I have went from a size 28 to a 16. I am off the walker, cane, and 21 medicines. I no longer suffer in continual, crippling pain from the Fibromyalgia, but can walk, without even a limp, a 20 minute mile. A VSG patient is considered a success if they have lost 60% of their excess body weight by 18 months post-surgery. I have lost 75% already, so today I was "pinned". I received my gold pin of success. I asked him if he thought I would be able to get another 40# off in the next 6 months. He said, "OH…

Well I told myself I'd put an update every 20 pounds, which will happen 5 times hopefully so here is number one:) I have lost 20 pounds in a little over a month!!!! WOW WOW WOW! I know that weightloss is going to slow down but im cool with that. My goal is to lose about 12 a month, I think that is reasonable. Surgery was offically 5 1/2 weeks out and it feels like it has been way longer than that. I am down from an 18 to a 16, i am on full foods no problem and I am trying to walk everyday. I really need to start weight training because I do not want saggy arms and i have a feeling I am going to. I know my stomach and boobs are going to sag because they all ready do now...…

I am going to try this, hopefully it works! I had my sleeve surgery November 29th, 2010. The first pictures are at my highest when I got married (I love my husband, he has loved me no matter what size!), around 260ish lbs. The second are the day of my surgery, 220ish lbs. The last pictures are at my current weight, 135-137lbs (I LOVE my hormones, I LOVE my hormones). There are 2 standing in my old jeans and I fit in 1 leg (1 is me AND my daughter in my jeans). There is also a picture of my biggest jeans (size 22), and my new jeans (size 4..I wear a size 4-6). I never dreamed I would ever be this size or weigh in the 130's. I honestly never thought I would even rea…

Well I am at 5 1/2 months out and doing great!! No problems so far, no vomiting so far!! scale is moving at the pace I wanted so as to not have too much loose skin! I have a little bit but I am old - lol - well not really old, just turned 51 Thursday!! Feeling so fabulous, almost like I am 35 again!! I would do this again and have no regrets other than of course I didn't do it 10 years ago! My favorite part of my whole journey is that I have kicked all diabetes and blood pressure meds and no longer use a sleep apnea device!! My diabetes A1C has been 5.7% the last two checks!! I am not a work out freak but I do exercise everyday by walking. Sometimes I am frolicking (l…

I went for my third fill today, and was very pleased when I stepped on the scale. 37 pounds gone in almost 3 months! I also used to wear a size 22/24 pant before surgery... This week I went to buy new pants, and was able to fit in a size 18 slim fit.... I just had to share.... Please share your success stories to help inspire me more!

One year ago today I was banded and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. I have lost 85 pounds and still have 80 to go. I have learned so much and have a new lifestyle now. I am social, happier and healthier. I work out 4 to 5 times a week I watch my calories with myfitnesspal.com It took me 2 years to finally make up my mind about getting the band I wish I would have done it earlier. This week I had an appointment with lap band office and even have good restriction and weight loss I want my band tighter. I was telling my PA I feel like an addict asking for drugs obviously they did not give me a fill. My lap band office is conservative when it comes to fills. I h…

So now that I've lost 120lbs, (and still have 80 more to go!), I've noticed a huge thing. Before, where ever I went, I used to always see people's eyes gravitating to my stomach. That's where I've always carried most of my weight. This made me so self conscious. It was so obvious the way people would look. I mean I was 400lbs. How could they NOT look? Now, I've noticed it's stopped? When I go to a store, nobody looks at me like OMG LOOK HOW FAT SHE IS! What an amazing feeling. I'm starting to blend in now. While I am still fat, I'm NOT the fattest person in the place now. I always was. There's plenty of people out there that are more my size now. I can't believe where…

The scale vistory is that I weighed 229 this morning - which means I am now simply 'obese' - no longer morbidly obese, no longer super morbidly obese either Overweight here I come! Non scale victory - Sunday night the family was sitting on the sofa all watching Breaking Bad and I realized that my legs were crossed - I dont think I have been able to do that in at least 15 years. Slowly the big stomach is going away - when we would go to restaurants I was too big to fit in a booth, now there is plenty of room, plenty of room with the steering wheel in the car as well. The clothes are starting to get really big - so big that my husband tells me that I cant go out of the…

Why at 5 weeks out, all of a sudden, would I get nauseated? I haven't had that the whole time! And how in the world do you force yourself to eat when you feel this way? Nothing sounds good! Ugh!

Hi, It has been 3 months (12 weeks) today since surgery. May 18th was my day!! I am 32 and 5 ft 3 in. My starting weight was 246. As of Today I have lost 41 pounds and am halfway to goal. I went from size 18 jeans to 14. This has been the best decision of my life!! I have had a few stalls but never lasting over a 2 weeks. I eat at least 70-90 grams of protein each day. If I don't get enough protein I feel real hungry all day. I usually eat 600-800 calories each day. I have taken vitamins and extra biotin every day since surgery. But I still have had some hair loss that started around 2 months. It is not noticeable and I think it may be slowing. My favorite protein supplem…
