I can't believe how quickly time flies! I honestly can't believe it's been two years since my surgery already. I'm pretty easily maintaining at goal, though I've found there is some truth to the "bounce-back" theory. Staying at 135 isn't always easy as my body seems happier just three pounds heavier and likes to stay there. However, I'm usually within 134-138 on the scale and I'm very happy with that. I eat like a normal person now. I've been able to increase my calories substantially since 18 months post op. I'm now consuming 1,400+ calories a day and it's not really affecting my weight. I like to stick around 90+ grams of Protein a day and I think this helps…

I've come crashing down to earth with a miserable head cold that has turned bacterial and resulted in ear infections this week. Already had three days off work, haven't been able to ride or go dancing But I've just realised I have also had a massive NSV! I track my food and exercise on myfitnesspal.com which helps keep me on track with both. But it has taken several days of this head cold for me to realise that I automatically adjusted my food down because I wasn't exercising. Normally I would have continued eating "normally" and wondered why my weight was always going up. Finally it seems as though my head is understanding the relationship between food, exercise and w…

I have been feeling like the weight isn't coming off as fast as others. But now that I actually sit down and look at the fact that its only been 5 months since my surgery and I'm down 92 lbs maybe it is! I think its because it feels like soooo long ago that I was sleeved. I feel like its been at least a year, but its only been 5 months. The weight loss is starting to slow down a bit. But the first almost 100 in 5 months is not too bad. Yay! I'm halfway done!

I have been so busy with life that I haven't made the time to get on this forum for a long time. I'm down 94 pounds now and I'm loving it. I've recently had some more trouble with my stomach and GERD, but its just something I will have to deal with. Now for the NSV part...I put in a pair of my husbands jeans last night and they fit me! I have no idea why I tried them on-I'm not going to wear them-I just had the silly curiosity to see if they fit lol. Going from a snug size 22 to being able to fit into a mans size 32 jeans is amazing to me. This sleeve has been a life saver and its worth all of the trouble in the beginning to get to things like this!

I had surgery on Feb. 27, 2012 I have now lost 65 lbs.I am now in onderland!! It's been a roller coaster ride a lot of the time but I am so glad that I took this journey. I feel so much better about myself, my self esteem is higher and I can look in the mirror without feeling discussed. I am really hoping that my daughter can see my success and do this for herself. I know that there are skeptics out there that think this is not a good thing to but they have not lived in my shoes to see the looks on peoples faces, to hear the silent remarks, to sit in a chair gentlely and hope it holds you. I knew that it was time for me to take control of my destiny......And I did, now…

Well, long time no see! I haven't had much to report on the sleeve front, so I haven't been online much, but I've had a few notable notables lately, so I'll summarize. First, I hit my new goal of 210, and passed it! Today's weigh-in was 205.9, which is amazing. I might actually break the 200 lbs barrier! At 6'1", that's a pretty good weight for a 42 year old, especially considering that my muscle mass percentage according to body fat analyzers is quite high. I'm working out a LOT, and I just signed up for a new gym for 9 months, for a 15 week session with a personal trainer (spendy, but that's part of the motivation), and I'm carefully controlling my food intake. …

I had surgery on April 18 and I am feeling really good. I have attached three pictures, the first being before my surgery on 4-8-12, the second was 6-6-12 and the last one was yesterday 7-25-12. I can't really tell how much weight I have lost until I see myself in these pictures. The weight is coming off slowly but all in all I feel good and am keeping it off. My exercise routine has been stopped due to a trip to the emergency room and a stay in the hospital. I was short of breath and I ended up having blood clots in my lungs. VERY scary when three different doctors tell you that you are lucky you went into the hospital when you did. I have been really thanking God f…

I was able to "resume sexual activity" yesterday, after my 2 week post op appt. And with 24 lbs gone, it was like a whole new world, felt like a new person. Just wanted to give you pre-surgery people something to look forward to! And I guess I could all that a Non-scale Victory also! heehee

Hello Bandsters! Pondering in some deep thought here. Wondering when you all actually FELT like you had lost weight? I was banded 10 weeks ago and am down just under 50 lbs. Inside, I don't feel like I've lost anything. The scale proves me wrong every morning, and I'm down two pants sizes (and a bra cup size - ugh!). I visited my Mom last weekend for the first time since March and she was shocked. Her coworkers (whom I've known for about 10 years) were commenting on how "skinny" I was. I felt VERY uncomfortable with that word. I am skinnier than I was three months ago, but skinny? Not this girl. I thought maybe when I went shopping for new pants I would feel…

OMG people! I just busted my lip raising up my knee to tie my shoe. I am in my office chair and I leaned forward slightly raised my foot off the ground to be able to reach my foot to tie my lace, and I raised my knee so high I smashed my lip! No belly in the way, so it just kinda "wham"...sooo happy no one saw it here, yet had to share...I take them where I can get them!

I just hit Onederland this morning and now I'm faced with making a final goal. To those who are now on maintenance, how did you pick your final goal? Did you pick a final number and worked to hit that? Or did you just let your body do what it was going to do and once it stopped that was it? My goal was 175 but the weight loss has been so quick with no stalls or slow downs that I'm starting to think maybe I should go lower. But I can't imagine my body at less than 175. It seems so weird and foreign to me. So what do you think? What should I do? What did you do or what do you plan to do? Thanks!

I had my surgery on July 9th and I feel great....except I cannot sleep at night because I get a very sharp cramp in my lower left back. I don't move and all of a sudden its like someone stabbed me with a knife and it goes away. Is this normal? Do you think this is a CO2 gas pain? It has moved all over my body but now it is stuck in my back. I walk, chew gum, take gas ex...etc. I find myself doing laps around the house at 2am, 4am and 6am. Should I be concerned? If you had this problem, how long did it last? Please Help Kellee

Today is six months from surgery. I started at 234.5 pounds and, including pre-op weightloss (beginning January 3), have now lost 57.3 lbs. I feel like I should have done more!! I don't want to waste this and I expected to be proud and happy today, but now I am just sort of freaked out. Am I on the right track? HELP!

I don't normally post NSV for myself, but I thought I would post this one today. Especially since I really struggle with recognizing myself and my weight loss and not seeing a fat person staring back at me in the mirror. Today helped me put in perspective that I really do see myself differently than the rest of the world. I take my daughter to swimming lessons and have to be in the pool with her because she is not yet 3 years old and all the classes are parented. Today was life jacket day and I decided to put one one for my daughter as a good example. The first one I grabbed, the instructor said "Oh, I think that will be too big for you", so I grabbed another one an…

I can finally say i'm in the 100lbs club. Never in my dreams would I have imagined being this small. I went from 230 to 130lbs. I have been a little discouraged due too the fact that I hadn't lost any weight in the past four months. I went on vacation this weekend and when I got home I ran straight to the scale and it read 130lbs how awesome it feels to finally be in the century club. I don't really care if I don't lose another ound I'm content with where I am now. The strange thing that I have found while shopping it's hard to find a small top. lol never thought that would be a problem. Those on the fence get off and do it; it can only get better from here I will never …

I shared this on FB and thought you guys might enjoy it as well... Onderland is that chick at the party that flirts with you all night, makes out with you in the laundry room, and then at the end of the night says shes not that kind of girl... Right now were making out in the laundry room but I have a feeling the next time I step on the scale she'll tell me she's not that kind of girl... Weighing in at 199.8 today but we'll see what Saturday brings!

I don't consider myself a "success story" yet, because I have a long way to go until my goal, and a lot to learn. But I wanted to share one way in which my life has completely changed since my weight loss. I stopped going to theme parks about 4 years ago due to being repeatedly turned away from rides because of my size. However, yesterday I went to a theme park for the first time in years and was able to fit on EVERY SINGLE RIDE! I rode a rollercoaster!!! No more panic attack waiting to see if the bar would fit over my stomach or if I could squeeze into the seats. It was a dream come true for me. Here I am yesterday: Little things like this make the hard work wort…

Okay..so I was working with a patient I had for years with one of our nurses in the lab...I notice she kept looking at me and I had made a reply to the nurse I was working with and I then feel a slap on my shoulder ..scared me a little and I turn..and the patient said.."it's you!!!!!! I didn't know until you spoke..you look great!!!!". So..that just made my day..lol!

I'm down about 70 pounds. And I just realized not only was I abusing my body, but damn my poor clothes took a beating. Trying to squeeze into something that is tight as he!!, stretching shirts out, trying not to dry my jeans so they wouldn't shrink, and forget about the chub rub on my pants. I'm just now going down a size, it's not because I haven't lost enough weight, it's because I was always in denial trying to wear clothes that didn't fit properly. Needless to say I am enjoying wearing my clothes, especially now that they fit appropriately.

Hey everyone! I like to give myself little rewards when I achieve my weekly goals that I set myself! Eg: go to the movies, go out for dinner, buy an item of clothing, buy a new handbag etc... Is there anyone else who does this?? And what type of things do you reward your self with? How will/did you reward yourself BIG when you get/got to goal weight? I plan on getting a tattoo that I've wanted for yearrrrrrs... :-D but I have never had the balls to get it... So I made it my reward! <3 Anniie Noelle

Two years and ten months after I first broached the idea of lapband surgery to my doctor and two years and five months after surgery, I am one pound BELOW my goal of 148. Color me delighted. Now comes the hard part- maintenance. I go see my surgeon for a slight unfill on Thursday and then I find out how the band helps with eating to maintain. Wish me luck.

I had a NSV today. Weighed in at 168. Down a 103 lbs from my high weight of 272. Went shopping and bought a size 12 bathing suit and size 12 Bermuda shorts. Still can't believe it. Had surgery oct. 13th. Tried on some size 12 jeans one pair fit perfect and the other pair were a little snug in. The belly I'm getting that droopy belly and forget about the boobs will need a reducation and lift someday . Good luck to all future sleeves it's been a ride for sure.

My bandiversary was 7/1 - as some of you have requested, here is the link to my video that summarizes my first year (data and pictures). I'm happy to be able to post in the Sucess Stories post. There's still work to be done - but I don't want to lose sight of where I was just a year ago. http://lifeisjustbeg...year-video.html

Hey guys, Its been awhile since I've posted until today, but I wanted to share something with the group that has really helped me. I have been feeling very discouraged with my surgery progress so far. I started at about 192 lbs, and am currently sitting at about 155 (give or take up and down a few lbs). Its REALLY hard for me to get down below this weight (this was my old skinny weight), as I now have to start trying extra hard, and pushing myself to exercise more. I also love my wine. Anyway, I have really been getting down on myself, and today I decided to listen to a support podcast that the company I had VSG through gives to their clients. The entire topic was abo…

So, I finally broke down today and went shopping for some clothes. Specifically, I was looking for jeans, work pants, undies, and a couple of tops. I've floated through six different Goodwill stores, but hadn't found anything in an 18 I even wanted to try on, much less buy, even at discount prices. So, today I went to the Outlet Mall near my house. I tried on several pairs of size 18 pants and jeans, but they all fit way too loose in the seat area, although they were comfortable at the waist. Finally, the saleslady suggested that I go down a size to 16s... and they fit. The waist is a hair tight, but they fit perfectly in the butt/thighs. That was the jeans! For work pa…

I will be 4 months out on July 29th. I am down 84lbs and still losing steady. My starting weight was 330 and Im at 246. I feel great! My life has improved so much! My confidence level has gone up and I have so much more energy. If anyone is considering having this surgery my opinion is "GO FOR IT". I have had no complications and I have not stalled. (yet, Im sure it's coming) I had a hard time in the beginning up until a month or so out because I missed my food, but that has all changed now. I am changing mentally as well as physically. Something that I have realized that is kinda sad is that people treat me differently. When I am out in public(shopping or wh…

Sleeved May 1st and I have already lost 75 pounds. SW 315 CW 240 GW 215. I have started getting the comments " dude you need to stop loosing weight" never thought I would ever here those words. Sometimes it feels good to hear, and sometimes I feel like saying " how could you say something like that?" it is amazing to me how some people don't understand how difficult this journey is to start and how hard it is to reach your goals. I would like to encourage everyone to keep fighting and reach your goals regardless of what everyone else is telling you. Live healthy.
