I know in one of our other threads everyone was talking about their spouses. Anyone out there single? For me I look forward to meeting someone who will love and support me in my weight loss efforts. Wondering maybe a can find a sweet guy who maybe even had surgery himself. Onyx

I have been in an intense Biotechnology course and preparing for job interviews and stuff.. So much so, that I haven't been stressing about eating, instead I've been living!! Working out 3/4 times a week... not snacking.... I find that when I eat until I'm satisfied at meal time, I don't need any additional food... my Water and meals keep me satisfied all day!!!... I dropped 3 pounds this week!! The scale didn't fluctuate much... Hallelujah!!! Have you guys ever paid attention to the amount of sugar in the fruity shots and cocktails we consume?? Got a reality check!! So, I'm limiting my "social libation consumption" to once a week when I DJ.. LOL.. Just wanted to say…

If I lose no more weight (which I feel like I will, if I want, but just, still...) would I consider this sucess? I have been thinking about it alot. I think the answer is actually not really a 'yes' or 'no' for this size, or weight. I think it is a need to be comfortable with the choices I have made, and the ability to recognize the tremendous changes I have gone through, and understand that at any given point, somewhere, the weight loss stops. I have not set a goal. I don't think it is a good idea to set a goal based on size or weight - anything really, until I can begin to "see" myself. I literally cannot look at myself in a mirror and see the changes. Somewhere in …

Yesterday was my stepson's 9th birthday, so we took some pics and video of the festivities. I was nervous to check them out, but when I looked at the pictures and video, I still thought I looked "big," but I didn't feel like I looked "sloppy" and I wasn't disgusted and sad after looking. That's a pretty big deal for me--so yay!

I want us all to be very prowd of ourselves, and feel really good! yay! Yay for US! For those coming our way, you will see this too! You will have this NSV too! Hugs to all in a really feel-good moment I had to share!

I went to the mall today to return an item, and while I was there I thought I would browse the ladies section and see if anything was on sale. I found a cute shirt, but it was an XL in the regular ladies section. I've been in the women's 16-28 section for quite a few years. Just for sh*ts and giggles, I tried it on and low and behold that sucker fit!! It wasn't until I was on my way home that I realized today is the 26th and I'm exactly three months out. So when I got home I decided to weigh myself to see where I am and I'm down exactly 40 lbs! My eyes nearly popped out of my head, because I am just getting out of a 6 week stall. For six weeks I bounced around the…

Its me... : ' )

As of today, I have lost a total of 102 lbs!!!!! I am down from 325 to 223. I still have a ways to go, but my next goal is to get under 200lbs. It is falling off much quicker than I expected. I was just sleeved 4.5 months ago. Since the surgery, I have lost 87lbs. I have gone from a size 30 in jeans to a size 16/18 and a 4x in tops to a XL. I feel so much better, but can't wait to lose the next 50-65 lbs. I hope to be at goal by Christmas. Just wanted to share my excitement with you all.

I bought a really nice pair of size 16 jeans in Dillards the month before I had my surgery as I thought when I get into them I will truly believe I have made a real change in my life post Gastric sleeve. I tried them on 2 weeks ago... still to tight to button up...this morning I saw them hanging in my closet and thought I would give them another try...I was thrilled and frustrated that they not only buttoned but were now too big! I really had thought these jeans would be a pair I would wear at least a few weeks or months. I honestly cannot believe they are too big, especailly in the legs and butt! Not complaining just shocked at how much our bodies can change in such a sh…

Okay... I can hardly believe that it's been 6 months already!!! Seems like only yesterday I couldn't fit into a booth at Texas Roadhouse, but it's actually been over 17 months... Feels like I was just complaining about how my dumb insurance company requires 6 month medically supervised diet... but that's been 12 months ago.. and then I met my Sleevina... The past 6 months have been the most mentally engaging 26 and a half weeks of my life!!! It's been a challenge to get up each day and not be consumed by the RULES, but respecting them and not looking at them as BAD... but as parameters and boundaries that keep my Sleevina working optimally.... So, this journey is defini…

I am so excited and scared. Tomorrow at 11AM I go to the hospital for my sleeve. I have never had surgery before. My new life begins on June 27th. I have to say that I cannot wait to be able to actually chew food again. I feel like soft foods are just around the corner. I have done pretty well on my pre-op diet. I have not stepped on a scale, but I will find out how I did tomorrow. 306 pounds is a thing of the past. I am ready to be a huge loser. Thank you to everyone on the hundreds of posts that I have read. You all have inspired me and helped me know that this tool is what I need to do for myself. I love hearing what everyone else has been through. I real…

Today I finished my 3rd half marathon..... With an injury!!! During my 2nd, I injured my IT band (fancy name for runners knee). I've been with a physio to help resolve it and together ( with my pushing), we agreed that I could try today's half marathon if I was careful. The old me would have given up. The old me would have said if I couldn't do the whole thing, it wasn't worth trying. My thought process now is sooo positive! Yes, I'm going to try. Yes, I may get taken off the course. But I at least was going to TRY!!!! And try I did!!!!! The first 5km (3.1miles) was amazing!!! I came in under 30 min for the first time ever!!!! Then my left knee blew out again …

I have been having anxiety about gaining weight. I would be fine if I stayed where I'm at. I'm a size 8. But I even have bad dreams about gaining it all back. I think it's because all my other attempts have failed at weightloss. Is anyone else having these same dreams/ anxiety/ fears???

I stood there at the mall (which I rarely grace) and was looking at this very very cute miniskirt. . but hell it was only in a 16 R. . . errrr why don't they make these for us fatties! I, of course, wear a 18W. . . errrr!!!! so i walked away thinking whatever. . . something kept nittering in my brain though, "go try it on, what will it hurt, it will either fit or it won't" Good Lord OK brain shut up! So i went back, took the little cute skirt and went to the fitting room! WELL SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! The dang thing fit! And with some room to boot! I was so in shock! I looked at myself in that 20" skirt and said out loud "Well good for me!" I'm 3 years out and thought …

Had another exceptional eating out experience. My server, was VERY helpful. I explained that I had bariatric surgery and could only eat about 4 ounces of food. She said that it was possible to order a Protein (I chose broiled flounder) as a side, with nothing with it as I can only eat protein. It was the perfect size and delicious. At other places I have asked for a 1/2 portion of the protein (if it is a large serving), with no sides. I have a card, from my doctor, that explains the situation with having surgery and only being able to eat tiny portions, but I've never had to show it!

Last week I hit my 3 month post op mark. I'm down 64lbs and I can't believe it!! I have my rough days still and I'm just trying to do me - the best way I know how right now! Last night I bought a pair of size 14 capris. I cried in the dressing room. The last time I wore this size was 8th grade - 16 years ago!!!! Here are my 3 month pics. The back photo amazes me most!! Thanks for the support along the way.

Hello, I just came across this sight. I'm totally new. Went for my seminor on Thursday. I've been thinking about this for years! I want a new life. Divorced for 19 years and now an empty nester, so I have to find myself again. Depressed because I'm so over weight. I don't go out, or buy clothes, etc. Basically I hide from life. I am so unhappy and I need a change. I know this is a lot of work. After researching this seems like it is a good tool. I need a jump start. Fortunately, my insurance does pay for this. It almost sounds too good to be true but I'm still not sure. I guess it's a little scary since I've hid behind my fat for some many years. What if t…

Will the day finally came. This morning at 10AM I was sleeved. I woke up with pain around a 6 and they quickly got that down to a 3. Rested in my room most of the day and started walking around 4:30. I have been on 4 walks so far, each one farther than the last. Pain is down to a 1 - 2 and thats with only using my morphine pain pump every 45 minutes to an hour. Walking is getting easier too, that first walk was horrible but now it's not bad.

Hi! I had a Lap to RNY conversion on Wednesday. The surgery was scheduled for Tuesday, but the anesthesiologist pumped me up with too much gas & they had to try to do the surgery the following day. I was an add on patient for Wednesday. The procedure was supposed to be strictly a laparoscopic surgery. I noticed when I came home that I have 10 lap sites & 1 open incision on my left side. The site is puckered in VERY deep & looks like a huge/wide/ scary roll with sores inside of it. The "sinkhole" is completely disproportionate to my body. I didn't know if this was normal. It's extremely painful & I am so upset. I'm not trying to complain. I am …

Yes I know...I'm a little late on posting...I was out of town on my 5 month surgiversary so I am posting now...I will admit, this has been one heck of a ride..Expecially the first month or two...That was the hardest. But it has all been well worth it..I have a ton of NSV's. I feel SOOO much better and my confidence has sky rocketed. I had the worst self esteem ever prior to surgery and I wouldn't say it is great now but it is a heck of a lot better. I am getting frustrated with the hair loss and can't wait for it to stop. My nutritionist says it is the worst between months 3-6. So I am hoping it will slow down soon as I have lost over half. I am currently down 8…

I always use the same "before" picture because I never really photographed myself when I was at my heaviest weights; which at times fluctuated up and down between 313 lbs. and 295 lbs. I never thought I would get out of that slump and thanks to my sleeve I have been able to accomplish so much in a little over a year. Last year, before my surgery, I wondered if I would ever get out of the 200's. My surgeon told me that the sleeve surgery didn't guarantee 100% weight loss of my excess weight, and I was o.k with that because I figured any weight loss is better than none!. However, I did wonder if I would even make it below 200 lbs. It's finally happened for me!!!!!!!!!…

Wow I'm currently 2.5 months out, I've just been amazed that now I can tell my face shape. Before my face was just fat I was never able to see the structure in my cheek bones. I'm loving every second of my sleeve.
