So, my last NSV was being able to wrap a towel around my body...still lovin that! My new NSVs....... I WAS ABLE TO RIDE THE MINI ROLLERCOASTER WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER ON SATURDAY!! I was not asked if I was pregnant, and the lap bar went all the way down to my new lovely lap! BTW...I HAVE A LAP!! It felt sooo good to be able to ride with my honey and not be embarassed that I was too big to ride. 2nd NSV, I NEED A BELT!! I have NEVER needed a belt, my pants were always plenty tight enough. Now, My pants sag on me and I really can't keep investing in clothes that won't fit in a couple months...it IS fun having to shop for all the cutest styles though! 3rd NSV, I…

So today I took my Experimental Psych final and was kind of nervous about climbing into the seats. Our lecture halls have smallish seats and no space to crawl over people if you come in late. A year ago, in the same hall, I actually had to stay and wait for everyone to finish in my row so I could crawl out without literally squishing someone. Not to mention that I couldn't put the desk down all the way - my thighs were too big -- and it dug into my tummy and I was squeezed on both sides from teh arm rests. WELL! Today, I fit nicely in the seats, WITH EXTRA SPACE! My desk went down all the way and I was able to slither my way out of the row when I finished my exam with…

Ok ..so I went to a store for the first time..not just digging through my closet and yes..I am finally down one pant size. Now that may no seem like much BUT I haven't seen this size for 11 years much less even squeezed myself into it! They slipped right now and zipped effortlessly with room to spare! (sorry gentlemen..this next part you can disregard!) I also had a change in bra size ..when down a full 2 inches and went up a cup size! LoL ..maybe things just shifted in that aspect! But still who ever heard of going up a cup size wild!!! I am proud of me and my sleeve! I am on a journey and I hope it continues to go well! 9 w and 5 d out and down 49# and I guess that is…

  6. In a few days I'll have been sleeved for 4 months. It really doesn't even feel like it. Some days are bad but most are good. I do have moments when I want to eat a lot of junk but for the most part I am comfortable with what I can eat. food no longer consumes my day. I would plan everything around food before and none of it was healthy. I am so happy with my sleeve. I feel very lucky to have someone who loves me unconditionally. He supports me 100% and it makes me love him even more. My blood pressure is now normal 124/66 usually from 168/92!!! I have lost 58 lbs. I lost a lot in the beginning but then slowed way down. I even stalled for about a month...lol but I knew I …

I had severly bad athma I was on advair 500/50 plus another steroid inhaler plus nasonex plus rescue inhaler plus my nebulizer. I also had really bad sleep apnia. since surgery I have not used any of my athma medication. I've gone from 217 to 197 in two weeks. When I first started using the eliptical I could only use it for 5 mins and the other day I was on for a whole hour. I love this tool and it has not been easy but am following doctors orders. I still have along way to go but for the first time their light at the other end of the tunnel. I no longer live on my nebulizer and am so excited for this j…

  9. I've been stalled hovering just over 200 for what feels like forever but I figured I'd try a few things on. Almost all of my old (10+ years) work dresses fit well enough that I can wear them for work again! Most are size large or 14. I ended up pulling down a box of clothes I'd stored away and so many things fit. It sure felt good. I might not be seeing big results on the scale but clothes fitting sure makes me feel good! I actually wore shorts out in public! Woo-hoo!

I just has surgery last Tuesday. I got out of the hospital on Thursday and have been staying with my parents until today when my dad brought me home. When I went to get dressed, I put on my bra for the first time since surgery and it just wasn't fitting right. There were these little gaps in the front. Ya know, like I wasn't filling it out. I didn't give it much thought though. I just kinda figured it wasn't on just right. After all, it didn't go on as smoothly as preop since I was trying to make sure I didn't mess with any of my incision areas. Anyway, when I got home I weighed and found I'm down 21 pounds since my preop diet. It all the sudden occurred to me that is w…

I have lost between 65-70 lbs, depending on the day. My goal was to get to 150, which is still twenty lbs to go. I was stalled at sixty lbs for a long time, then started working out at a gym. I lost ten lbs. Within a month and now stay at that weight. I plan to hire a trainer in august, which should help with ten of this lbs. I have a big event in September that I want to look fab for...I havent seen my siblings in four yrs and the weight loss should set them back...they made some pretty ugly c…

I'm only a little over 6 weeks along, but feeling awesome so far. Another cool thing...my GP says I'm not high risk! I have perfect blood pressure and great pulse...something I never would have had without the surgery. Anyway, a lot can still happen (go wrong) so I'm not telling EVERYONE yet, but yeah. I consider that a success.. Would have been a lot harder trying to conceive before I lost the weight. This was only our second try. Good I completed my three months of nut visits on Thursday and Friday got my sleep apnea paperwork sent to the surgeon. Bad news -- I also saw a cardiologist on Friday I need a stress test before I can be cleared. Between that and the card's follow up appt which isn't until mid July. I cannot schedule my surgeon appt nor the surgery until after mid-July! Which means no surgery until late August or even september ! Arrggh. I know the surgery needs to be safe but I am so disappointed by the delay.

Never EVER thought I would actually enjoy going to the gym. I've started going though and today even took my son. My program through my surgeon gives me a 6 month free membership to the healthplex at the hospital and its a really great gym. Theres so many classes and activities to do, and it has something called KidFit, where you can bring your kid while you work out. My son LOVED it. I had 2 hours of peace to get my cardio in today and I have to say, I rocked it. Considering I sold a treadmill a couple yrs ago that I used maybe 5 time, lol. I'm actually looking forward to going back tomorrow night to do some weights with my trainer!

So I had my 18 month post-op checkup this week (it's a smidge late due to scheduling conflicts, and now I"m actually closer to 19 months post-op, but hey better late than never) and was very happy with everything. From my stellar labs, to being -100lbs lighter, there is nothing bad I can say about the sleeve. It has given me hope in the never-ending weight battle. Never before would I have stayed the course through so many stalls (and for me personally there have been plenty!) I'm starting to see my body change even though the pounds are NOT melting away the way they did when I was a few months post-op. Just thought I would share some photos since that was my biggest in…

I plan to only weigh on fill appt days in the beginning. However, I had my third NSV. I am usually a size 20. I went to Target to look for swim suit tops b/c in 6 weeks we have a big trip planned. I was going to buy one a size smaller. However, as I began to try the plus size tops on, none fit. I went to the regular sizes and picked up a few tops. The one suite that I liked the most was only in a size LARGE. I tried it on and it FIT! Not plus size, not XXL, not XL, but LARGE! WOW, only one mon…

I am almost 3 months post-op (06/05) and so far I have lost 40lbs (including pre-op lost), including 2 stalls. I can't see the difference but I know the difference in the way that my clothes fit. So yesterday I went shopping for some black slacks & a top for an upcoming job interview @ work. I started this journey wearing a size 20 or 22 on a good day, I do own a few 18's but in the past couple of weeks they are too big in the waist. I was banded April 10, 2008, and I have had great success with the Realize band. I had lost 166 pounds up until a few months ago. My weight started to creep back on because I know I got "relaxed" about my band. I was eating and doing things I KNOW I wasnt supposed to be doing, yet I still allowed myself to do it. Like the saying goes, old habits die hard. After I got married in 2010 the pressure of being in the beautiful wedding gown was gone, and well I got comfortable and let myself "slide" on things here and there. When I got married in October of 2010 I weight 195, and felt so GOOD about myself. Today as I type this my weight has gone back up to 250 pounds. For the la…

I am sure many of you that are further along on our journey have had a friend or family member call you "skinny" as a sweet compliment to your weight loss. It has happened to me a couple of times over the past year. Well, I knew I was far from it still but I just smiled and said "Thank you". Well, yesterday morning on the way to church, I was riding in the back seat with my 4 yr old (not normal) and commented how much room there was back there now. My son, as with most kids at this age, is brutally honest. He stated that I fit so well because I was SKINNY. Skinny? Me? Really? Wow, it is so awesome that my son sees me like that way. 50. Started by skintyprincess,

Hi there! Anyone successful have a slow start? I was banded 12/19/11 and I've only lost 35lbs. I know, I know, I know I'm so happy to be 35lbs thinner but I wanted to be 50lbs by now. Anyone have a slow start and now is successful? Just need some motivation.
