I weighed 199.8 this morning! I know a glass of water could basically put me back at 200 but, I am going to celebrate my re-arrival into the magical Onederland for the first time in at least 17 years today!!! Have a fantastic weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

My best friend of 20 years came to visit me, and I let her take my photo. That is a HUGE NSV for me. I know I am not where I want to be yet, but I was so happy to see my friend, and also I was wearing a size medium top and size 12 jeans.

After a SIX Month stall that turned into me slightly giving up and gaining three pounds, I have lost five pounds. So I can add two pounds to my overall weightloss. The stall is dead! WOO HOO! As funny as this may sound, I worked hard to not freak out during this stall and then slight gain. I didn't want to fall into old destructive routines. I really feel successful for this and on top of the world now that losing is happening again. I need to update my ticker... I am now 203. Three pounds from onederland. I can't wait!

Coming up to 8 months post op and life feels better than I remember it being. This week has been a week for NSV's : * completed my first fun run, 8 kms in just on 1 hour * I fit into a size of jeans that I have not worn since I was 14 * feeling great and positive about the direction and the people in my life * am even planing a glamour shoot to show how far I have come. Even the scale is co-operating a bit.

Wondering if anyone else is like me. I have almost every size clothes in my closets. Seriously from size 8 jeans that I wore for about a minute when I lost weight ten years ago to the size 24 that I was wearing before my surgery, and every size in between. Although I am over 6 months out, and really feel like I have done great, I'm still nervous about getting rid of all my plus size clothes. At first, it was so exciting donating all the 3X tops that I never really liked but had to buy to cover myself. I did ok getting ride of the 2X clothes too, even though I had some really nice things for work. But now that I am wearing a regular size Large or X-Large, I feel nerv…

My FIL is in a critical condition at the hospital. Could you all say a prayer for him. He's 92 years young and just had second surgery for neck fracture. Please help by saying a few prayers. Thank you

I'm 5.5 weeks out and have been bummed because I've been on a stall. Well, last night I bought a pair of pants to give me short term motivation and they already fit! Actually, they are a bit loose and I could probably get into one size smaller. I am so stoked and just can't believe it. I've spent so many years trying on clothes only to have them not even fit on my body or be way too tight to wear. It felt so great to buy a size 4 sizes smaller than I have been wearing and have them slip right on. Inspired! Just what a I needed!

So as of today I am 1 month and 2 days Post Op. Here are some photos. Have lost only 17 pounds since surgery and total 36 pounds to include pre surgery. I know I should be happy but for some reason I thought I'd lose more than that.Been at a stall lately. My co-workers said it looks like I'm losing inches faster than pounds and can definitely see a difference. On a good note my size 28 LB jeans are super baggy and I just slipped on my Right Fit size 6 LB Jeans (have no idea what a size 6 equivs to) today that I haven't worn in a year woohooooooo. Hoping to see more pounds come off before my big trip in August!

Ok experienced Sleevers..... I have a few Questions.. 1) does your back and you feet really stop hurting after losing weight? 2) does exercising get easier because you actually feel lighter or is it mental motivation that gets you moving? 3) does the snoring stop? 4) does spicy foods (jalapenos, hot sauces, etc.) affect our tiny tummies?

1year surgiversary Today May 10th is one year from my surgery. Like many have said in their surgiversary post its hard to believe a year has past. A year ago I was in Mexico in surgery with Dr. Almanza right now. Starting this new life. Here a year later I am below goal, feeling great, look alright I suppose, running in half marathons, no health issues, playing with my Kids, enjoying so many rhings in life that were beyond my reach. It truly is a new life. Filled with awe and adventure. I was thinking yesterday about my new eating habits and style. I found myself wondering in 10 years how it will be. Who knows. What I do know is my life has been changed, enriched, …

I saw my surgeon for a follow up and fill tonight. I was the only one in the waiting room when he came out and called me name, then looked around for me. "Oh, I didn't recognise you!" he said, "You look great!" Needless to say I was pretty pumped by that, but then he mentioned his information seminars and said I would be a model patient to speak at them. And then when I went out to reception, his receptionist pointed out that he hadn't recognised me! He also remembered that I had my son's wedding and was pleased that I had brought photos in to show him. (I've tried to attach a pic, so hope that it works.) Only small negative of the appointment was that my port may…

Control Freaks unite! So I got this sleeve thing 4 years ago. Hit near enough goal weight to be happy. I mean really - to weigh what I did in highschool was good enough. I regained to 20 pounds above that perfect weight for me. SO now I had a little panic, which has sent me flying back into the arms of on line chat forums. Since I signed up here again and started participating and reading I am back down 5 pounds. And seriously - have not made any exceptional efforts. What I realize is that I had gotten out of the habit of doing has been the exceptional food planning that I did in the earlier days. I NEVER used to let myself get to a place where I needed to eat and did…

I'm sitting up watching TV. Taking walks whenever possible, siping water & chicken broth. All in all feeling Better than OK. Have a little discomfort with gas---but I'm working diligently to get the gas moving around and out. Gas X strips are my best friend & the heating pad. Best of luck to all you new sleeves.

I am still a good way off from my overall goal weight of 215, but I am a little over 5 months post op and have met many goals so far. I am off my blood pressure medicine, off my cholesterol meds, free of joint (knee) pain, a little more energy than I had before and my strength is coming back to where it was pre-sleeve. One of my main concerns about the surgery and weight loss was my overall strength. If I had ANY real reservations about having the sleeve, it was due to my concern about a loss of muscle/strength, particularly a loss that I wouldn't be able to get back. I've lifted my whole life and have enjoyed what weightlifting (resistance training) has given back to…

Hello Fellow VSG'rs ok its been a while since I was on here , but I am happy to say I am currently down to 178lbs , thats 75 lbs from where I began this journey !!!!!! As a result of losing what I consider to be a whole child off of my 5'2" frame , I can do so many more activities including running!!! Running has been an activity I absolutely hated unless it was moving me away from immediate and immenant danger, but to do so created an inferno in my chest and made me sweat like a race horse!!!! My new NSV is that I am now running because I actually like it ..... what ????? did I just say that ??? Oh yes I did , it allows me thinking time to myself it kicks up my endo…

I cannot believe 3 months ago this time I was in my hospital room in major pain, but it was all worth it. To date I have lost 62 pounds! It sounds like allot but I have 100 pounds left to go, so I still have a long journey ahead to reach my goal. I work out about 4-5 times a week. Did my first 2 mile marathon 2 weeks ago. I still have not had any bread or pizza since surgery; I did have cake on my Birthday. I think the hardest part, has been with me being opposed with the scale, I weight everyday some days twice just to see. I get mad at the scale when it doesn’t move because I’m thinking, I only had 700 calories today, and it should move everyday lol. The sleeve has…

Thank you all so much for voting for me and helping me to win the Progresso Souper You makeover. I am still in shock that I actually won and was able to have such an awesome experience We flew in Sunday night and stayed in a really nice hotel in Beverly Hills. We found an amazing "swag bag" full of goodies including two Biggest Loser cookbooks, once of which was signed by Dolvett! There were even Snacks and Water in the bags and a duffle bag to get all the goodies home in, they really thought of everything Monday morning we were up bright and early for Breakfast and shopping. The other two winners and their guests were wonderful, and the ladies from General Mill…

It's been an awesome past two months. Major life changes that never would have happened 50 pounds ago. I had my surgery last August, and the weight loss has been SLOW. But I'm hanging in there and the rewards have started rolling in. I decided to try online dating in March, after I was able to get some pictures of myself that I felt ok with. Two weeks later, I met an awesome guy and we're so happy together. Right about the same time, some networking paid off and I landed a job interview. The company was pretty slow with the interview process, but last week I was offered the job! The company is really dynamic and high-energy, and I know I wouldn't have been an …

I know we Sleevers start walking immediately after surgery and its a good idea before surgery but how long until the surgeon usually releases us for more vigorous excercise like weight training and jogging?

I had my surgery 10 months ago today. If you would have told me then that I'd be writing this post today celebrating 122.6 pounds down i would have said you were crazy - that would be way too good to be true! So, I had the sleeve in August of 2011. The BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE IN MY LIFE. I lost a lot of lbs, as well as a lot of hair, in the first 6 months after the surgery. I struggled getting in enough calories, but mostly I made sure to hit the gym anywhere from 4-6 times a week. Every night I would go to the gym for 1.5-3 hours doing mostly cardio work (eliptical cross training to be exact) but also a lot of weight lifting on weight machines. I began to love life again and other people began to treat me better than they EVER had in my life. Since having the surgery, I have dumped my fiance (who wasn't supportive of my losing weight), graduated from college, line…

I rarely get on the scale, because the scale can be discouraging. However, my clothes are falling off of me, that is how I know that I am losing. I bought a pair of capri pants in a size 12, and they fit for minute. I told myself, I know that this 12 is not loose, and they sure were, on my way to a size 10. Wow, I am shrinking, and I am excited. Went walking about 2 miles today and it felt great! I don't know whether I am stalling or not, I stay off the scale until I know that I have went down a size.

Today is my 1 year bandiversary and I am 100 pounds from where I was a year ago. I never thought I could lose that much weight in one year, even with the band. I thought I would be successful and feel better if I could lose just 50 pounds, and when I lost 50 pounds I DID feel like a million bucks. I still have a lot of weight to lose to reach the state of not being obese, but honestly if I stay at this weight that I am currently, I am ok with that. I started this journey as a size 28 in tops, size 30 in bottoms and could barely walk a flight of stairs without becoming winded. I am currently in a size 16 top/ size 18 bottom. I haven't been in those sizes since …

I went to Walmart the other day and I tried on a pair of 36" jeans and they for perfect.... I remember trying to squeeze into 48-50's just last year and it seems so surreal!!! Here are my 8 month post-op pics, along with a new pre-op picture of me I discovered tonight. I have to say that I feel like a whole new person... and, just for reference, I've probably lost almost as much as the bride in the picture weighs!!

Happy Friday, everyone! I had surgery on 4/20/12. I was 260 when I started my pre-op diet and 10 days later on day of surgery I weighed 246. Now I'm 2 weeks out and have lost another 16 pounds. Current weight is 230.5. The picture was about 5 pounds ago but I thought I'd post to show the difference that just 25 pounds has made. I was wearing a 20 pants and am now fitting comfortably into my 18's. I've still got a long way to go but the small changes already feel so great!

Here is me the day before op and today 63lbs lighter

Ok...I finally am posting before/after pics..First pic was in 2007 I weighed 190lbs...at surgery I weighed 199lbs. Surgery date was 8/1/11. After pic is 138lbs in March 2012 and now I weigh 132lbs! So very happy I did VSG. It has been such a blessing.

Obviously very nervous and stressed out, the only thing that is keeping me feel good is all the great success stories I read, see, and hear over the Internet. I have a lot of friends who think it's the wrong thing to do, especially when they tell me about the people they know whome the band wasn't a success I just feel I don't want to be with these friends anymore, and I'm waiting for the day we'll meet again to see the new me, and prove to all of them I took the right decision. Wish me all good luck!

Hope you all don't mind my posting something that might not fall under a "success story" or "NSV"... but I just can't help but want to share! I have been with my significant other, Mike, for nearly a year now. He is the most wonderful man, and we've talked about getting married some time in the near future. The other night, Mike, and I took his four young boys on a Polar Express train. I don't know if you all are familiar with the story, but it's one of my favorites. They have an old train near Flagstaff, AZ, that you can take. All the children wear their pj's and bathrobes and they serve hot cocoa and Cookies. Well, as we're chugging along, Santa makes his way…
