Slow Start

Hi there! Anyone successful have a slow start? I was banded 12/19/11 and I've only lost 35lbs. I know, I know, I know I'm so happy to be 35lbs thinner but I wanted to be 50lbs by now. Anyone have a slow start and now is successful? Just need some motivation.

I was banded jan 4th and have only lost 26 lbs. I was hoping for 10 lbs a month and I'm disappointed but at least we are moving in the right direction!! We just need to keep motivated and positive!!!

Slow start? What are you talking about? You are right on target. Go to Lapband Complication forum under Struggling and read about people who lose nothing or actually gain weight. Typical weight loss is one pound a week. You're halfway through the year and have already beaten that!

Be happy with yourself!

Don't forget that it all adds up. I was banded July 2010 and I hit the 100 lb weight loss yesterday. I feel awesome!! Slow and steady wins the race right! Keep working on yourself, keep learning about nutrition and exersice, plus challenge and push yourself. I have changed and learned so much in the past 2 years all for the better and all permanent lifestyle changes.

You are doing great! Don't get discouraged. I was at about the same pace as you and then things started going a bit faster. I had my surgery February 2011 and was down 100 lbs the day after Thanksgiving. Just keep at it. :)
