  1. I stayed the same this week! I'm good with that, I had a defill this week as well.
  2. I know I 100% need a defill, but I'm a little freaked out about it. I'm only 10lbs away from onderland!!! They are going to take .5cc's out this afternoon. It kind of seems like a lot. It will be so nice to eat solid foods again. It all began with a case of gastro in May but this heat has done me in. I'm scared!!!
  3. The heat does affect the band! I actually have to go for my first defill today. I know I need it 100% but I'm still nervous about losing control. Yikes!!!
  4. Thrilled to report I'm 210, down 5lbs this week :D !!!
  5. I do tons of mini goals along the way. I do something small like a mani, pedi, fitness magazine subscription, or earings every 5 lbs. For hitting 100lbs lost my hubby took me to a spa for a day then a night at a hotel in a beautiful suite. For onderland (only 13lbs away) we are going on a shopping trip to the Mall of America. (I'm in Canada). I LOVE the idea of a ring for hitting my goal! What a beautiful idea! I'm SO going to do that!
  6. Here's a stumper. I had my last fill in February and thought I was in the green zone until I got gastro in May. Since then I've been very tight and I now understand why the nurse at my clinic always reminds me to take pinky nail sized bites and chew chew chew. For the first time since surgery I don't think of food AT ALL. I'm amazed how I just eat a few bites and I'm satisfied. Its great and the weight is falling off fast again.
  7. Very exciting times! Keep us posted!!
  8. I'm a paramedic and I was off for 2 weeks then right back to normal duties!
  9. July 8th was my 2 year band anniversary!!! July 1 - 216 July 8 - 215 Sorry I posted late I was away!
  10. When I look at a picture of myself I expect to be disgusted and now I'm always plesantly surprised. I wonder if I'll ever get used to that?
  11. I have had one for a few months now and I love it to. It really reminds me to move as much as I can. To park a little farther from the building and to take the stairs. Its great motivation!! It is super frustrating though when you forget to put it on - grrrrr!
  12. Pollywogg - I'm so happy you are doing this!! Goal weight for July 31st~ 208 Weight on July 1st~ 216 Age~ 39 Dietary goal for July~ Eat clean!! Exercise goal for July~ Do some exercise everyday Personal goal for July~ Don't feel bad for not "working out" Date banded~ July 8th, 2010 Total weight loss since banding/pre op diet~ 105lbs What is your favorite 4th of July activity~ Canadian
  13. I've lost over 100lbs. 105 so far and 48 to go!! :)
  14. I am seriously considering getting a reduction as well. I'm waiting till I'm in onderland though just in case I end up with nothing.
  15. I had been doing intense circuit training and running from Jan - May and they hit a plateau. I had an opportunity to have a trainer for a month and he told me NOT to do the same type of exercise for more than 6 weeks, to shake it up. So he had me do standard slow weight lifting with 1-2 mins inbetween sets and he put my cardio target heart rate much slower then I had been doing. I lost 17 lbs in the month I had with him!!! Who would have thought!!! So now my plan it to do something different (swimming, biking, yoga, etc) for only 6 weeks then switch it up. I'm looking forward to it.
  16. I was banded July 8, 2010 so I'm just approaching my 2 year bandversery. I expected to loose weight after being banded and I generally followed the rules. That took practice though. You don't have to start off perfect. I expected to loose a little quicker than I have but I gained so much more that I never bargained for. First of all there is a bounce in my step everyday, I love getting dressed in the morning, I am confident when meeting new people and no longer embarrassed of myself. I finally have gone through and used that closet full of too small clothes that I accumulated over years. I am down 12 pant sizes and shop in regular clothing stores. I have tons of energy! Other than NSV's though I have leaned so much about exercise and nutrition. I have changed my lifestyle in SO many little ways. I love the new me and I love to learn more and more about healthy living. I have averaged 1 lb a week but that sure does add up! My next big goal is onderland! I have dreamed of that for 17 years, since my first child was born. I didn't imagine I would be THIS happy!!!
  17. Don't forget that it all adds up. I was banded July 2010 and I hit the 100 lb weight loss yesterday. I feel awesome!! Slow and steady wins the race right! Keep working on yourself, keep learning about nutrition and exersice, plus challenge and push yourself. I have changed and learned so much in the past 2 years all for the better and all permanent lifestyle changes.
  18. I'm so excited for you! I hope to be in your shoes in the next week or so !!
  19. It was a really big deal to me when people started to notice! Such a big success!! WTG!!!
  20. Constantly sip water and use lots of gasX strips. I hope your Dr. can help you out!! The first few days were rough for me but then I saw dramatic improvement daily.
  21. The first week or so it may be hard to sleep flat but other than that you have nothing to worry about, I promise!!
  22. WAY TO GO!! You are an inspiration! I only have 15lbs to go till I also hit -100lbs. I hope to get there before my 2 year bandiversary in July!!
  23. You can still do this! I was banded the exact same time as you and although it is slower I'm still losing. Talk to your clinic, see if you need a fill and go back to following the basic band rules. Your clinic is there for support too. Another thing is to start an exercise plan. I joined Jillian Michaels site on line and I've been doing her workouts for a couple of months, they are hard but you see a quick physical difference! Work your band and it will work for you!!!
  24. Somehow try not to think of candy as a forbidden food just like you shouldn't consider yourself on a diet. You are changing your lifestyle and you need to allow these things into your life in moderation. Some have a sweet once a week, others try to fit in into their daily intake. This is your new life and you need to try things until you find what works for you. I do want chocolate quite often so I buy really rich types and have just a few squares and I really savour them too like the other ladies. It works for me! Another approach is to go sugar free for one week and your craving for it should diminish.
  25. I lost weight faster at the beginning than I am now but I'm actualy doing better now. As time goes on I'm working my band better, learning to follow the rules and I'm improving my life constantly in regards to nutrition and exercise. Your band is a tool to help make weight loss easier, you still have to work at it. If you continue to loose a pound a week, just think of where you will be in a year from now. Work on yourself and follow the band rules and you'll get there in no time!!!
