Hello all I had surgery on Jan 7 and have been following my plan, which seems a bit different than most but in the past 3 days I've gained 3 of the 6 lbs I lost after surgery so far back? Am I going crazy or do I need to take a step backwards with my diet progression ? Anyone have a similar problem ? Thanks

I had my lap and surgery 3 yrs ago and was very successful. I went from a size 22, to a size 14 and was loving it. It wasn't always easy, but I felt good about myself, my progress, and my habits. Then I started traveling with my job. The altitude and elevations didn't work. I started to also notice changes in tightness with my menstrual cycle. These are things that I didn't know before and things that really took me off guard. I had several unfill/refill/unfill/refills. I gained almost all the weight back. Then decided to start over. A fresh start. New outlook, knowing the sensitivity and how things bounced for me, I became more aware of my intake and tried to m…

They gave me some Tylenol in my IV which was good enough. I started my clears at 6:15 which went well but now the vomiting has begun. Let me tell you that SUCKS!!!!!!! I am using muscles that I would rather not use at this moment lol. I can honestly say that so far it's not as bad as I was expecting.

I still have the desire to eat tons of food but I am not able and that is good. I enjoy having the brakes put on my eating when I could not put them on by myself. I have lost 40 pounds to date. Sometimes I get frustrated because I want to eat garlic bread or pizza but I am happy that I have help with the hard foods. Sometimes I have a hard time with raw veggies and fruits and that is perplexing because that is what I want most of my diet to be made up of. I have been experimenting with different ways to make those go down easier. I am happ…

Hello everyone my name is Jessica and I am sure that my story can relate to many others. I've been having my entire life coming from a family that is also very overweight and I wanted to make a difference in my life. I love being active and working out and trying to do different weightlifting and things like that but I found that because of my weight I would get injured often. I ended up getting a tear in my meniscus which sent me to physical therapy for an extended period of time and then occasionally it would still hurt when trying to work out on it. I started my journey to get WLS three years ago. I was just 18. But I never made an appointment, I just did research and tried to lose weight on my own. I had successful points, like dropping 20 lbs but nothing ever stuck. It wasn't until August 2013 I gained the courage to call the number in my phone, I saw the commercials but I was always so overwhelmed with a sense of failure, nervousness and just plain being told no. I got to my heaviest 266, IN August. I was fresh out of a long term relationship and wanted to make an attempt to find myself. I found myself on the phone with a lovely woman, scheduling my free consultation with True Results, now I had to wait for Septem…

Losing weight so fast plays some serious mind-games with you... Last night's one was really shocking (for me) yet funny: My husband and I were laying in bed (this doesn't get dirty, sorry), and he was running his hand along my side and back. I could feel his hand going over lumps. So I was like, "your hand's getting caught on my fat rolls." Him- "um, no honey, those are your ribs. MY RIBS!!!! LOL Of course, I surely thought he was wrong and I kept putting my hand in the same spot where my back fat used to hang-- yep, ribs.

I'm 6 wks + a few days post-VSG; 30 pounds down (including a week of stall). Last night for the first time, I went to a restaurant for a sit-down dinner. I usually ordered an appetizer, entree, wine and maybe a dessert. So this was different: 1) holding off on my Water to save room for my food; 2) passing up on ordering any wine/martini; 3) do I just get an appetizer, knowing that that amount is all I'd likely be able to eat?; 4) do I get the entree only? 5) do I tell the waitress why 'no' to this/'no' to that? I ended up only ordering an entree (which, early-bird included a soup; I picked the black bean soup). The Soup came in a rather large bowl containing maybe ~8-10…

The day following my band I tried to drink all my fluids. I couldn't get half of them down. I finally knew what it felt like to be full. It took me 2 years to get the weight off. I feel so much more energetic. I feel like I have been given a gift. I have been able to maintain my weight loss for 10 years. I wish everyone the best of luck in their journey. Mona

I wasn't completely numbed when the nurse stuck the big needle in, but I was ok once she started adjusting the needle and my port to get it in. I am excited to see what this adjustment will do to my eating. I can't believe it's been 5 weeks since my surgery! My workout. Let me start out by saying that I HATE the heat, so it's crazy that I even went. I started going to Bikram yoga and I LOVE it. I am planning to go at least 3 times a week. I'm so glad I found something low impact that is still challenging and will give me a good workout. Check out my blog @ http://adventuresinlapba…

I contemplated having the gastric bypass off and on for about 10 years and ultimately decided against it. The surgery seemed so drastic and back then you really couldn't get solid research on how long a person lived post-op. The interesting thing is the same thing can be said for the gastric sleeve but it did not matter any more. It was time for me to make a change. My highest weight measured was 402 lbs. I lost about 20 lbs and lingered there for nearly a year until I started preparing for surgery. My weight at surgery on December 2, 2013 was 368 lbs and I am 5'3". Fortunately I was never immobile or using assistive devices but life was/is hard at 300lbs. There is no…

I saw my brother's serious girlfriend for the first time since she had lap band surgery. I was amazed at how healthy she looked-- she glowed! After our vacation, I texted her a tonnnn of questions asking about surgery and everything. I ended up researching it like crazy but found out I have a bariatric exception in my insurance policy so I stopped researching for a couple days. I started looking into self pay band and was turned off bc of having to pay at each fill plus the surgery. I also did not like the idea of having a foreign object in me for life and rea…

I like going to the gym. I like walking on the treadmill and then working my target areas-- butt, abs and arms. This is just a reminder to warm up before pushing yourself. I didn't and I hurt my knee and have been out of the gym for a week and limping. Sigh. I know better than this. Best thing for me is to walk kind of slow for five minutes. Stop the tread mill and stretch. Then continue on the treadmill, increasing speed as I feel my legs warming up.

I am married to wonderful and supportive man and I have two teenagers ages 13 (girl) and 15 (boy). I am the only person in my family that is overweight. The foods that process the easiest are those that have the least to offer - sugar free pudding and Jello...and a very small amount of light Greek yogurt. After taking eight months of prep and all the hospital stuff, I figured you'd look all sickly and in agony" Ya know, that's my feelings too. I think it's all a scam. the so-called "hole-scars" are burn marks. The shakes are meds to make us feel full and gassy. Our spouses are in on it too. They put drops of that stuff to make you puke in all the food over 3 bites. They cater to you so you'll feel needy & whinny. It's just a sham. There was no surgery. Yea......that's the ticket.....you can't fool me. Then again......maybe not.
