I was very nervous about this surgery at first I kept saying I can do this on my own. I loved food I loved sweets starches and soda those things that I would be giving up for a lifetime, even know 2 weeks post op what I wouldn't do for a Dr. Pepper but I knew something had to change. I was 30lbs shy of being 300 who wants to weigh 300lbs I was tired of getting my clothes in 3x's my doctor told me I had Hypertension in February of 2013 and put me on medication and then in October of 2013 she said I was pre diabetic that did it for me. I went on with my surgery it's all a mind thing if you make up in your mind you don't want to live uncomfortable anymore then you will be ready. As a employee in a big hospital in the recovery room I knew a little as to what the surgery recovery would be like in recovery room. My hospital visit was horrible with pain nasuea and the first week at home was a living hell but tomorrow I will be 2 weeks out and I am about 70% myself I am now on soft foods. No the recovery is not easy but if you have a strong support system you will do fine. My husband kids and friends have been great. I now weigh 235 a total lost of 35lbs in two weeks it's amazing my husband says he sleeps better at night now because I don't snore anymore it was all the weight and I am so glad it's gone and still leaving. I ate eggs today it's the little things that make you smile.
