Scared, nervous, excited all at the same time

Well, I started my journey today so I thought now might be a good time to finally stop reading everything here and join in the talk. I attended a seminar in December and today was my first meeting with the surgeon. He's going to be awesome during this ride, I can tell already. He answered all my questions open and honestly. He said my insurance BCBS IL thru my husbands union doesn't have any managed diet restrictions, all I need to do is some pretesting. Mine will be a bit more extensive then some due to a family history of heart disease, he want's to make sure all is good with that which I'm totally fine with. According to him I'll be having the surgery inside of 2 months and off meds in probably 3 (hypertension, high cholesterol and diabetes) and in "much" smaller cloths this summer. I'm fortunate to have the support of my husband, kids and my 2 best friends, all of which will be my support system. Not sure about telling the rest of the family and friends yet. I don't want to hear negative thoughts or opinions, not that I think they'll have any. I also don't want to see their uncomfortable expressions when they feel they have to somehow comment on my weight. We all know it's not what it should be right??? So, I'll take all the encouragement I can get and I'll be more then happy to supply encouragement and support to anyone who needs it.

Let the games begin.

(Hunger Games is my favorite movie - Kind of ironic)

Thank you Cupcake. Where are you at in the process? I see you have January listed at your surgery date - when is that?

Sugarfreeme Hi it was January until we discovered that my Primary doctor sent my information to the wrong place resulting in a two month delayment. The referral he was to complete for his approval for my surgery was not sent in the 3rd month as requested but the fifth month as soon as my insurance company received it within two days I recieved their approval to meet with the syrgeon, he is so back up I can not meet with him until March. So now I have to wait until March to see the surgeon so I am hoping that I will have my surgery the end of March. I am using this time to loose additional weight. And remain positive.
