I want to know if any post sleevers drink green juice and if you do when did you start? I drink everyday a green juice made of lemon, ginger, cilantro, cucumber, romaine lettuce and celery. If you drink something like this please tell me when you could go back to it and if you are still able to drink it. It is very good and healthy and I hope I am able to still drink it after I am sleeved. thanks!

I am about 7 weeks out and i started eating salad this week. It is wonderful and its like the only thing i eat that i dont have a weird feeling after. However, i also feel like i can eat a lot more of it than anything else, maybe a cup of greens. I wanted to see if you guys think its normal or that it wont stretch my stomach if im having more than the normal 2 ounces. Thanks!! Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

My husband says he is being supportive but this whole week he's done nothing but eat in front of me. I'm not talking normal meals, I'm talking snacking constantly, in addition to the normal meals. I was sleeved on Monday so I'm not even a full week post op and I'm ready for him to go back out on the road again. I know this is a mental thing for me and I need to figure out how to be stronger but shouldn't he be a bit more sensitive to my feelings? I've told him more than once that it bothers me.

I was using an app called Protein-Tracker to track my protein. After updating my phone I can no longer use it since the developer hasn't updated the app. I found the app to be very good in tracking my proteins. Can anyone recommend an app that I can use to track my proteins? A big mahalo in advance.

I am cleaning out my cabinet and found a fairly new bottle of MCT Oil (I dont want to throw it out...). In the past, I used it mostly for bulletproof coffee but since I am pre-surgery I am weaning off coffee for a while. I plan on saving this (expensive) stuff and want to know how I would use it post-op, several months out once I start eating again. Can I even use it? I am soaking in all of the information I can pre-op so I will be prepared for this huge lifestyle change- I know I need to learn a whole new way of thinking towards food and the way I eat and this is the time to do it! Yes, there are lots of posts and books and websites about this but I cannot fin…

How are you guys counting sugar alcohols in macros? I like Dr. Johns hard candies. 4 pieces count as 18 carbs, 16 of which are sugar alcohols. Would you count 18 carbs. would you count 2 carbs? What’s your thoughts?

I am starting my twelfth week out. Keeping regular foods down good! Since we need to stay away from fried foods, I bought an air fryer a couple weeks ago. It is awesome! Everything so far has turned out nice and crisp and good! The best investment I have made for a long time! I got the smallest size and it is perfe ct for two people. The others are way too big!

Did anyone bring or take GasX thin strips to the hospital? Do they work? I hear about a lot of people taking that for Gas pains but I can't seem to find them anywhere. So far wherever I checked they only had the chewables or the gels. Does anyone know where someone can get these from? I am getting sleeved tomorrow and would like to have them on hand in case I need them. Thank you!

How should I expect to feel immediately after surgery while in the recovery room? Also, what is the leak test and what will I be required to drink while in the hospital? Will I literally feel full after a few sips of water? I've read all kinds of material, but I want real stories. Thank you! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using BariatricPal mobile app

Surgery this morning seem to go fine. But my blood pressure started to drop, so since I have heart thing they checked all that out and didn't find anything. Next likely culprit was a bleed, they went back in found it cleaned everything up inspected everything again so hit me back up and sent me upstairs with two units of blood. Doing great no pain ice chips. Planning on going home tomorrow. Even with all that it was not a bad surgery. Sent from my XT1575 using BariatricPal mobile app

I am curious if anyone knows the science/biology of how stalls work from a physiological standpoint. This is really more just idle curiosity than anything but it got be wondering how our amazing bodies work in a weight loss phase. I am 19 weeks out and have lost 89 lbs since my 10 day pre-op diet. There is a consistent pattern of 0 loss for 2-4 days then a loss off 1-2 lbs. not including the first 2 weeks I average a pretty consistent 2-3 lbs a week. Last week I only lost .6 lbs which was a first. Then in 2 days I have lost 3 lbs. I have no complaints or worries but this does make me curious about what my body is doing while it’s processing this stored fat. Any scien…

I am almost two weeks out and I am having a ripping burning pain in my largest incision. It doesn't hurt all the time just when I make certain movements like stand from sitting, lay on my side or bend over on my right side ( which is where the incision is). It's the weekend so I can't reach my surgeon yet and I wanted to see if any one else has experienced this. I just took some pain medication so I don't know if it will help. I did take my son to the zoo two days ago which was pretty intense exercise considering there are a lot of inclines; maybe I over exerted myself I have no idea...Please help me I'm in pain and can't sleep comfortably.

Hi! I have had two appointments so far for weight loss surgery and I'm still not 100% sure which surgery I want to have, the sleeve or the bypass. I have Aetna in Ohio for my surgery (I work for the State) and was wondering if anyone here had bypass surgery and could share with me what their out of pocket was for the surgery? Thanks! Taking a lot of things into consideration with this process. Second question: what are you realistically able to eat? Is this going to be a funeral to food once this surgery is done? I've heard of people a year out eating a handful of almonds and a water for lunch and being so full. Is that the extent of the eating experience I will have…

I called my doctors office, and per their instructions I tried benadryl and calamine lotion. Unfortunately neither one has helped. So I have someone become addicted to researching the nutritional values and several of the food items that I want to eat. But I just looked up red grapes and did not realize they have 12 grams of sugar in them and 23 g of carbs. And that is for one cup of grapes my mother says I should just have the cup if I really want some what does everyone else think? Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Just found out I was approved and will be sleeved in November. Now I'm wondering: is this an insane thing to do? Before I was approved I was sure this surgery is the right step for me. I am really done with being miserably fat. I see this surgery as the first step toward a healthier me. But now I have these sneaking doubts (and a little fear). I'm still having the surgery but I wish I felt as sure as I did before approval. Did anyone else feel this way? When did you feel that this surgery was the right choice for you?

UPDATE: So I'm 3 weeks post op I'm on my second stage which is textured and soft foods. I basically have been eating normal but healthy of coarse. So salads, Greek yogurt, grilled chicken and sometimes nuts. I've even tried the kind protein bars. I'm doing great the trick is to eat slow and I'm doing ok with that. I'm still doing 1 protein shake a day and that's ok too I'm learning to add bananas and peanut butter protein to make them taste different I've even tried mango from the Bariatric pal website. So far I've lost 22 lbs total I started at 306 and I'm now 284 as of tonight. I feel like I need to start incorporating some cardio and weights into my routine. I can feel…

I am 15 days post OP sleeve and over the last 5 days I haven't lost any more Weight! I did look it up and it seems it's a normal thing around this time, but I wanted to hear your opinions or if anyone has experienced this as well? If it matters, I'm up to about 59 oz of fluids a day and soft foods (eggs, low-fat cottage cheese, protein shakes, etc). What are your experiences? I was just sleeved last week and am excited for this transformation that is about to begin. I have lost quite a bit this past week, walking 1.5-2 miles a day what is the best exercise routine- once I start going back to the gym to lose more weight and gain muscles...... I figure muscles will somewhat cover the loose skin

Hello! I'm 9 months post op and lost a total of 148 lbs since surgery! Starting weight 345 and current weight is 197. Super happy with my progress thus far but for the past 2 weeks I've been at a stand still at 197? Goal weight is somewhere near the 180's! I'm concerned because I don't know if I've hit my plateau at 9 months already? Any advice!?!

We went to Mexico and it went great. Wonderful care! I have no discomfort really at this point. Getting all my liquid but only about 50 g protein at this point. Woke up day after I got back and now I have a nasty chest cold. So I do feel crappy. I felt great from the day after till Sunday, plenty of energy, etc. But I'm afraid to take anything. I have essential oil going to help me breath better, but that's it. Anyone experience this? Should I be concerned?

Thusday 9/5 they performed gastric bypass on me. Two hours later I was walking and the pain was controlled by me with a PCA. I arrived home on 9/7 after I drank at the hospital 21 oz in 9 hours. No nausea, no vomit, no pain. I am drinking water relatively easily and I tolerate it pretty well. Around 4-5 oz in 15-20 minutes. But then I have to stop and rest for 30-40 minutes. Proteins is more difficult. I can have 1 oz in 15 minutes and then I am full (I guess it is "fullness" it is a more sensation of pressure, very light pain on the left upper quadrant of the abdomen) So I barely reach 35oz a day and I don't reach 20g of proteins. So far no poop, just gas. Little pee bu…

Has anyone experienced any issues staying asleep after surgery? I fall asleep pretty quickly, thanks to an Ambien, but I tend to wake up several times a night and need to listen to music or something to help me fall back asleep. Before surgery, I had problems falling asleep but then slept pretty soundly. The sleep interruptions make it very difficult to wake up, and then I'm tired all day. Any advice? I don't know if this is related to WLS, but I'm five weeks out and I don't know if my body is changing too quickly which makes it uncomfortable at night. Just thought I'd ask.
