Post op weight gain

Had surgery yesterday (10-4-17) and I gained 8 lbs from the time I was admitted and discharged. Is that normal?

Also have waves pains in my abdomen that is relieved by standing up. Is it gas?

Yes it's very normal, its all of the IVFluids and swelling. Give it a couple of days and the scale will go down. The scale didn't go down until 5 days for me.
