Hi all, Tomorrow I go for my nutrition and pshyc consult. I've been eating like crazy these past two weeks. I'm ready for my new life to begin. Tonight I'm taking the dreaded pre surgery pic, this will keep me motivated for sure. Feb 4th won't come soon enough. I found out 3 weeks after surgery, I have a business trip scheduled. I'm nervous about that, the food, the social nights with drinking (I love to drink). Well, fellow Feb bandsters, our time is quickly approaching!

I get asked "what do you eat?" a lot. I know it seriously disappoints people when I respond "nothing special, just healthier versions of old favorites". So, I'm posting one of the old favorites that I changed up. This is what I'm making my family for dinner tonight, mostaccioli. It's one of my family's favorites and despite changing it up to be healthier, they still absolutely love it. I bolded the items I changed from the original recipe to healthier, lower fat versions. Mostaccioli Ingredients • 8 ounces uncooked WHOLE WHEAT mostaccioli • 1-1/2 pounds 93% LEAN ground beef • 1/2 cup chopped onion • 1 garlic clove, minced • 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes…

My weight watches friends only take the veggie bistro box. I was wondering if the Protein bistro boxes are good for bandsters, if a person tracks the calories in their daily intake. For those of you not familiar they are pre packaged (which I like to grab on hectic days), includes natural peanutbutter (80 calories), a hard boiled peeled egg, 2 triangles of cheese, grapes, apples and a small pita (I think whole wheat). I think 240 calories total. Maybe 340. I can check on myfitness pal or on the box the next time I see one. Here are the questions I was wondering others opinions... Are they high in sodium? Would once a week be too often to have one? How would…

I know- crazy question. I was banded on 12/19/12 and I often ask myself if I am really banded. I know it sounds strange but I have not had a fill so I don't have much restriction. To quote some of you, I am going off of want power right now. I feel like I can eat a larger portion than what is on my plate. I feel like I get hungry a lot quicker than I used to. I don't have a problem getting anything down, or have the symptoms most of you have with your banded lifestyles. I actually told my husband that I really don't feel any different. Is it just me? I am slowly losing and I don't have a problem with that. I am happy to be losing at all. I cut my calories/portions back in…

For those who don't know. I am 12 days banded, 11 pounds down. I am starting as of Tuesday to eat normal foods. I'm still on soft foods currently. Ive been able to keep everything down (knock on wood) while feeling full and satisfied. Tomorrow I'm going to Olive Garden with a friend and I really want my favorite, baked ziti, but I get angel hair instead of ziti. Is eating pasta a good idea? Anyone have problems/success with pasta? Ps I am planning on getting the kids meal version... Not sure weather to get a more solid pasta like ziti or something stringy like angel hair. Comments/suggestions?

Terry posted a link on another forum to Dr. Paul O'Brien on YouTube detailing the 8 band rules. I loved finally finding out how the food actually gets pass the band (I've been thinking the food moves through like sand in an hour glass--it doesn't). After watching all of his videos, I saw a link to an actual lapband surgery (Dr. Massy? I think). I was fascinated by all that went into putting the band in me. How can I take this wonderful tool for granted?! Someone on this forum (sorry, don't remember who) said something along the lines of "act so as to be worthy of the band.". Wow!

So I ate light yesterday and I still had some discomfort today so I decided to go back to liquids today and I'm still really uncomfortable. What could have happened? Do I need to go to my Lapband doc and get checked out?

Doc told me to go back to regular eating. Didnt work. I had my last fill in March of 2012 and had no problem with it. Now here we are today. I am able to keep liquids down with no problem. I am tring to eat regular foods and I'm throwing up everything except soup. Its crazy. I dont know what to do. Do I go back and get a little unfilled? She said she filled me 1.4 CC's,, and whats with the Hic-ups after I eat? Please reply if you can help! Thanks!

Hey All, Almost 2 months banded and about to get my 2nd fill. I have a question about Protein. I've been drinking Muscle Milk brand because it tastes good. I've tried others and they are nauseating. Is this good protein? The only problem is that my doctor said I should replace a meal for these? When I drink a muscle milk I'm full but only for like 20 mins. What Protein shakes do you drink? Which are better tasting and satisfying?

Well that was no fun! 5 weeks post op and no fill yet. Was in Sunday school and was eating a sausage link. Ate too fast/didn't chew good enough. Chest pain then felt it needed to come up. Went to bathroom and puked it up. Not my usual violent vomiting though thank goodness. Followed by some burping. After that felt much better! Scary but lesson learned!

While there is no cure for the cold or flu, despite what mom says about her soup, over-the-counter (OTC) medications can provide relief for the most common symptoms.
