I was banded June 3rd 2010 I have lost 120 lbs to date how is everyone else doing! I had a minor set back when I had port revision surgery in July to place a smaller low profile port. I'm finally back on track and losing weight again!

Alright fellow bandsters give it to me straight.... what should I expect on my first fill? Is my food going to get stuck? Is it going to be painful? I just want to know what to be prepared for. Thanks y'all!

I am 41 years old and my entire adult life has yielded approximately 1 small burp per year. It is a family joke - when I irk one out I hear "whoa - was that the yearly burp?!" I recently had a fill that was too tight. I had it corrected, but since then I am a burping machine!! Sometimes more than once a day! Did anyone else notice a change like this?

I ate to much today ...... I went to Chinese restaurant with my parents and ordered a small chicken broccoli no rice ..... I ate most of the chicken and half the broccoli ... Came home and snacked on some corn chips and source ... Then later drank some crystal light and a water... Jesus!!! I was feeling the guilt already then I was fixing dinner and ate 1/2 cup of beans and cheese ..... Now I'm feeling really guilty I hadn't done this scenes before banded I was feeling so good with all the weight I have lost .... Now I feel like I lost it!! Anyway I know I shouldn't blame this on none but my self....but I think it has a lot to do with the fact that my parents are moving…

I was sitting at work today and one of the ladies came up to me and asked me if my band would rupture if i ate too much.....i told her what the signs were of eating too much and she then told me that when i go back to the doctor i needed to talk to him about how much i ate and it really made me mad. I am not able to eat breakfast so i have a protien shake or some light yougart because my band is tight in the mornings then the only thing i eat for lunch is maybe a 3oz grilled chicken breast or tuna fish and some steamed carrots or other veggies and she thought that was too much and concerned about me. I thought i was doing well and my doctor told me i should be able to ea…

Rain, Sleet, Snow and cold weather...... They say your band gets tighter with weather/barometric changes.... I am having the toughest time getting my morning smoothie in....been over 30 minutes and not finished yet...one time I had to stand over the sink thinking it was coming back up.... Between you and me...I LOVE IT! This will pass, always does, usually as the day goes on, BUT it is assuring the band is still there functioning....I would be more alarmed if I felt nothing! I learn to adjust and deal with it......

My surgeon did my fill last week and told me my port was tilted. I asked why it would be that way and he says that some ports do this as weight is coming off ( so close to the end). He didn't seem concerned. Should I? What does this mean?

Well, I'm frustrated to say that I've only lost 6 pounds since November. Up until now the band really has done all the work for me and I've been losing steadily getting to -50 with very little effort... But now that I'm at reasonable restriction (yes, I could probably be a little tighter, but I'm pretty tight) I decided to rejoin Weight Watchers and see if that helps. WAKEUP CALL!!! OMG I had no idea I've been eating this badly!!!!! I had a 50 point day over the weekend with absolutely no effort at all. I'm hoping that having a few weeks of conscious eating will get me back in the groove where I don't have to try as hard again, because I badly don't want to be on Wei…

I'm just about to crawl in bed at the end of day 8 of my pre-op diet. All in all, it hasn't been too bad. Day 6 was my hardest. Tonight I baked a pizza for the family, and sat there and drank a protein shake and ate carrots while they enjoyed their pizza. Later they wanted pumpkin bread. I honestly made it through the past few hours of cooking and sitting with the family while they were eating, and it didn't bother me. I was able to keep my resolve to not cheat. That is real progress. I was real concerned about eating sugar free jello. The thought of that just turned me off. On my diet I can have any liquid that is 15 calories or less per serving. SF Jello meet…

I'm just wondering when I read these posts that some of you guys get .2 cc or .3 cc fill or unfill it makes a huge difference. My Dr does not fill like this he only does a full 1cc or 2cc at a time. I'm a nurse and when I look at .1cc its such a small amt so I'm just curious how that makes a difference in the band? By no means am I saying this in a negative way I'm just wondering if I shld suggest maybe a half cc next time I need a fill.

My last filling was in November and its pretty tight. I've been ok until the last 2 weeks where I've had to keep a cup of water on my bed side and sleep at a propped up angle because ill wake up coughing and choking on spit. What could it be? Also, because I paid out of pocket for the surgery, I'm worried if there is a complication that my insurance won't cover anything I might need to get done to fix it. Any suggestions?

Why did you have this WLS? Did you do your research before hand? Maybe I should say, "What do you expect the band to do for you?" You went through all the preperation, anxiety, hassle, and perhaps out of pocket $$.... All that, and to what end?? There can be 1000's of people on this forum at any one time...and as you read all (many) of the posts you can read just as any different "Opinions" I have read: **You should be able to eat anything anytime, the band should not stop you from eating, and should not take away certain foods... **You need to measure/weigh your portions, food passes through the band quickly and does not prevent over eating **Hunger is norma…

Banded in Sept 2012. I have not had the success I dreamed of as stuck at the 30lb mark since November. Could be I need to come out of hibernation. I think Wiarton willie (Feb 2nd- if you are not a ground hog day fan) predicts 6 more weeks. I really need to move before then but just hate the cold.

I ws banded on 12/3/12 and have lost 36lbs. Went for a fill and they discovered that my band may be faulty. They believe scar tissue is causing a kink in the tubing. So I have to undergo sugery this Friday for a revision to the port, however if the band still isnt working properly they have to replace it and basically starting at square 1 again. I have been following the rules and trying to be optimistic but a little discouraged about having to have surgery again.

Hi everyone. I posted a month or so ago about the troubles I was having with healing around my port site and the difficulties that my surgeon has had getting fills into my band. I have been to get my second fill and apparently due to the excess scar tissue surrounding my port, it has forced the port to actually flip completely over making it practically impossible to manipulate from over the skin to get my fills in. He did however after about 30 minutes of extremely uncomfortable poking and prodding did manage to get some liquid in, but has requested a fairly urgent surgery date next week to replace my port from the new style back to the older version.... I have every…

Hi all, Is anyone interested in hiking on the weekends? I have been hiking alone for a while now, mostly in the Gorge and Mt. Hood and aside from giving my friends and family constant heart attacks as they wait for a call from search and rescue...I probably should find a hiking pal. My brother got me a geocaching kit for Christmas and I am dying to go do some. But I would love a hiking buddy. I am slow as hell (no understatement) but I love love love being out in the early mornings for hiking (and by God, I can do it!). If anyone is interesting in hiking it would be great!!! Chris
