  1. Started by Lori Voss Green,

I had a doctor's visit yesterday. It had been 4 weeks since my last visit. Now, at my last visit....I had lost 11 lbs in 4 weeks. At my visit yesterday? A whopping 0.4 lbs in 4 weeks. I was disappointed and frustrated. I am ok with it now, I mean, it's still a loss and not a gain, right? It was just frustrating because it is the first time since surgery that there hasn't been any real weight loss. The last 4 weeks have been rough. I've been suffering from migraines almost daily. I have felt like crap. I have not been monitoring my eating as much as I have and as much as I should. I did not get a fill at the appointment prior to this one because we felt there was no need…

I remember seeing from my WW days that spicy food tends to satisfy more, and you tend to concentrate more closely on what you are eating. Now, I know that there are a lot of people on this board that consider catsup spicy, but this is like eating with smaller plates, tricking your mind into thinking that what you are eating is more than it is. So, stretch yourself try to spice things up just a little bit (Spicing things up isn't just for the bedroom any more). This mornings breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled 1 ounce diced ham 1/2 c mushrooms sautéed in 1 tsp olive oil 1 oz part skim mozzarella. The hot part, I put a liberal splash of Franks Hot Buffalo Wing sauce, altho…

  3. I had my surgery June 12, 2012. Since then I have lost 65-69 pounds, of which I very happy and very thankful. However, for the past 2 weeks I have been losing and GAINING the same 4-5 pounds and it's driving me nuts! I can handle staying the same for a little while, but I can't handle gaining!! I'm working out and watching what I eat, so I'm completely at a loss.... Sent from my MB865 using LapBandTalk

I have a skinny ten year old who weighs sixty pounds. He's hard to pick up, let alone carry around. As of this morning--sixty pounds is now gone from my body! I have been excitedly waiting for this because he is a walking milestone. Any time I want to see what it felt like at my heaviest, I just have to pick him up and walk around with him. It's so weird to think of the idea that I used to have to "carry him" upstairs, to work, every single step, etc.

So this is my first thread. I have been considering doing lap band for a few months now. I finally took the first step and made a doctors appointment. All costs will be paid out of pocket. I think my biggest worry is that I am not "fat" enough. I have been yo yo dieting since I turned 18. I was always a chubby kid. With heart disease that runs in my family and diabetes as well as high blood pressure I am susceptible to getting very sick early on as I age. I am now 25 years old I am 5 foot 7 and I weigh 215 pounds. My doctors appointment is in two weeks. I am nervous I will get declined. Is there any advice you guys can give me? Thank you all would be appreciated.

So I bought a big bag of spinach at Costco the other night, I usually have it mixed with scrambled eggs. Tonight I put some olive oil and garlic in a skillet, then threw in a big handful of leaves and and sautéed them until they were wilted. It was fantastic!

I m seeing surgeon tomorrow per my request to talk abt getting slight fill. Last fill November I'm at 7cc. Im at goal. Just want to maintain at this point. So why do I want a fill? I can eat more than a cup sometimes cup and a half no more than that. I don't have to chew chew chew or put down fork. I chew like before sx when I'm not feeling restriction. I can go usually three to four hrs before I'm hungry. I guess I'm looking for the greenzone. I don't feel I'm there. It's more my head telling me stop than my band and its worked for me so far. I want that feeling of that I don't think of food and let my band tell me I'm full like I have after a fill.

  14. Hi, my name is Suzanne and I had my surgery 12/28/2012. I am looking for a mentor and buddies who are near to the Tampa, Florida area. I live in Winter Haven, Florida. I am new to lap band and new to "forums" so I hope I am doing this correctly. My doctor has me on clear liquids for a week. i was wondering if it is ok to put some crackers in a cup of broth and drink them down when the crackers become really soft? Also, is it normal to have some gas after drinking liquid or having some jello? Does this go away? Looking forward to making some new and lasting friendships.

OK so I have to start my 7 day liquid diet Monday. I did NOT do well the first time around and fortunately was not turned back in surgery. but I really, really struggle with liquids only. I'm very much attached to solid food. I've been starting to cut down my portions and get back into low fat land this week, but last night I flipped out. I bought bad food. I am eating it. I know with my head that I'm emotionally reacting to "losing" food, but I feel a little helpless at the moment. I intend to go the entire 7 days next week on liquids. I have great shakes (www.shakeology.com) and they are thick and filling. I just know I'm going to need support by day 3 or 4. And the…

  30. I was watching a program on PBS called "Depression: Out of the Shadows". Anywho, as one who has struggled with anxiety/depression and obesity for many years I have also struggled with the fact that having anxiety and depression contribute to my weight gain and vise versa and also the drugs that I take may also play a part in my weight issues. Back to the PBS show, there was a man on the show who had been profoundly depressed for a while and took a large cocktail of drugs that seemed to be working for him. He also took some medications that were to counteract some of the side effects of these drugs. He took a drug that I wasn't familiar with to counteract the weight…

I am not sure if this has been discussed in the past, but my surgeons' office told me about a food delivery service in Ontario that will deliver pureed & regular healthy frozen foods. Their prices are reasonable and they have a variety of entrees for just about any type of diet. The name is Copper County Foods and they have on-line ordering. I haven't had my surgery yet so I can't comment of the taste. I'll let you know.

Will I ever b able to stop eating because I can't eat any more or will I always feel like I could have eaten another cup of food? I feel satisfied with what I'm eating n can last a long time without eating again. So what's the problem? Why do I feel like I'm still dieting?

Hi everyone. I am young and social and so a lot of going out means times spent at bars. I know alcohol is full of empty calories and all that. I know carbonation is out of the picture and I'd like some cocktail ideas to be able to drink if I go out other than alcohol on the rocks, wine or cranberry vodka. Hopefully nothing too fancy because a lot of these places are more like sports bars than fancy places so something reasonable. Any ideas?

Saturday morning I tried my Cereal and it was a really slow go, then lunch of tuna didn't want to go down - not a major stuck, just a little pressure, so I went back to liquids. Sunday morning I did liquids, for lunch I was at my mom's and she fixed some tuna cakes and soft cooked greenbeans- it went fine, just ate slow. Mom sent a tuna cake and some greenbeans home for my dinner and it didn't want to go down at dinner time. I haven't lost any in 3-4 weeks! I have been eating 1300-1400 calories on days I work out and around 1200 on days I don't. I work out 5 days/ week burning 700-800 calories per workout. I eat 40-60g of protein a day and drink 4 to 5 16oz bottles of water per day. This is my second plateau since my surgery on oct. 15, 2012. I went 6 weeks with no loss about 4 weeks ago.
