I had surgery 3 years ago and my belly button still bleads not alot but when I clean it it will bleed has anyone had this problem and should I go to the hospital

Hi everyone I'm 13 weeks out today and have lost 19 kg in total. Experiencing my 2nd stall nowadays. When did you guys have the 2nd stall? How long did it last and what helped you to break it? Thanx in advance x

So it's day 13 since my surgery. I have lost 21lbs while on the full liquids. I have now lost 60lbs from my high. Just curious, will my weight loss slow down on soft foods? I started walking each day around the block from my house. .75 miles. Did that for about 4 days, then reversed and did two laps. With the exception of the belly button blowing continually and having to be drained due to the umbilical hernia, the surgery so far has went without any pain except for the gas pain the day of the surgery. I feel good. Tired, but good. Not that I felt bad at my high of 417. Wierd thing is, I haven't eaten anything since 1/28 and I'm not the least bit hungr…

I've been a long time lurker on this site, but it's my first time posting. I know everyone is going to say that everyone experiences a stall, but I'm frustrated and need to share my experience with a community of people who, hopefully, understand what I'm going through. I'm 4.5 weeks post op VSG and haven't lost any weight in 12 days and I'm really struggling with that mentally. I've been tracking consistently and for the last two weeks I've been at 600-800 calories a day and have been getting at least 60+ gr of protein a day. 2 pounds up this morning on the 3 week anniversary of surgery. No change in diet of course... I heard about a dreaded stall, but weight gain? And how long did your stall last?

I went to the ER today, 3 weeks post op (sleeve). I have had left side and back pain since day 5 but last night it was awful and Tylenol wasn’t helping. I was Dx with a splenic infarction, no infection, no abscess, no leaks. The pain is miserable but the dr said all they can do is give me pain meds and that the pain will go away in a few days to a week. I’ve already been dealing with this pain for 16-17 days. has anyone dealt with this and if so, how are you now? I’d like to hear other peoples stories who went through this same thing. I called my surgeon’s office to let them know and got a cd of my ct scan to send to them. Should I be under more care with a doctor? I d…

New to the group, just joined scheduled for 3/1 I’ve found this whole process very overwhelming and have a million questions but one I am not sure on I’d thought those that went thru it Could answer. I’ve never had to stay in hospital I’ve been told it’s a one night stay what would you suggest bringing with you? Due to covid I am being dropped off and I am not being allowed a visitor so if I don’t bring I won’t have. My sleeve surgery went really well! My surgeon said it only took him about an hour. He’d told me it could be up to three. I had a hiatal hernia that he took care of. That probably explains my occasional reflux. He also took a liver biopsy because I’d been diagnosed with a fatty liver. Biopsy is Just so we can tell how much it had progressed. The worst part was waking up with shoulder/chest pain from the gas. Heating pads and walking helped. I’ve been able to slowly sip some water and protein water. The hospital broth and jello was yucky and I didn’t eat them. slept horribly at the hospital though, so I’m headed to bed now. Will check in later.

I was originally scheduled for surgery on 12/16 but postponed due to Covid cases escalating at the time. I was 4 days into my liquid diet when I got the call. On the positive side I was able to enjoy the holidays but ready to get this show on the road! I am having this useless lap band taken out at the same time. I got up to 315 and currently at 303, I am a 6 ft tall 63 yr old male. Has anyone had trouble with hair loss? I am taking Biotin,Keratin, B1, propecia, and rogaine. I would like to lose about 100 pounds. I think 210-215 is a good weight for me. I am wondering how long it will take to lose 100 pounds. Also what vitamins are you guys taking?

My BMI is lower than 40 but higher than 30. After yo-yo dieting all my life and menopause wreaking more havoc, I have decided to make a permanent change. I tried the gastric balloon and while initially successful, the weight returned. Change of life has meant even more weight gain. My sleeve is scheduled for 2/23. This is my third month after gastric sleeve total weight loss till now 40 pounds I started at 248 I’m stuck I don’t lose weight anymore and gaining one pound and losing it the following day this pattern been for two weeks I don’t eat sugar or carbs only focusing on protein I drink my water also some days I feel I can’t eat nothing at all but other days I eat up to 800 calories but most days 500 calories I’m so stressed I wonder if I’m going to lose the rest or what am I doing wrong could you please help me and provide me with what you eat in your day thank you

Hey guys, I am new here! I recently found out that I have what is called a complete heart block, where by electric signals are working as they should in my heart. I am over weight with a BMI of 38.4, I have high blood pressure, i am pre-diabetic, high triglycerides and cholesterol (hereditary), fatty liver, acid reflux and I am getting a sleep study done for sleep apnea. My heart doctor said it is 100% nessesary for me to lose weight or I won't make it to see my kids grow up. My insurance is United healthcare choice plus and my employer doesn't have weight loss surgery on our plan and my HR said they never have and won't add it to our plans, so it is obviously going …

So, a week since my surgery. One, you gain about 10lbs in water weight from all the iv fluids they pump in ya, but you pee them out quickly. Two, The pain from the hernia surgery far outweighs the pain from the sleeve surgery. Three, Getting fluids in is rough, because it seems there isn't enough time in the day. Four, ZERO Hunger, but every time a commercial for pizza or burgers comes on tv I want one. Five, So far so good. Can't wait to get to soft foods in a week, because the protein shakes, protein water, and yogurt is getting old. Six, Down 10lbs since the day of the surgery Not including the 10lbs of fluids, 50lb mark overall. Not so bad …

Hello, I was sleeved on 12/7/2020. Have anyone experienced cramping while swallowing like the food is having a hard time passing?

I'm a little over 4 weeks post gastric sleeve. My stomach ALWAYS feels like it is growling/gnawing/gurgling or something. I've been on omeprazole daily since surgery. Is this common? Anyone else have this?

I was just idly wondering if anyone else had an extreme amount of pain after their sleeve (or any weight loss) surgery? I don't mean to scare anyone away from having their surgery because my situation is pretty unique in this regard. I am a recovering heroin addict so at the time of my surgery (August 2016) I was taking a medicine called Suboxone. Suboxone blocks pretty much all other opioid painkillers from working. I told my surgeon and anesthesiologist that I was on this medication and I was concerned that it would make the post-surgery painkillers not work so I brought my prescription to the hospital with me so I could give it to them so they could administer it…

Hello sleevers. it has been a while since I have posted anything, I think since my sleeve in 2019. Surgery is done!!! Feel good. Worse pain was the IV’s going in (one hand and one forearm). Surgery was at 10:30 - up and walking by 2:30. Walking every hour as much as I can. Some heaviness in my chest - air from surgery - going to keep walking. No problem sipping on the water every hour. I’m outta here tomorrow and so excited to start my best life!!!!

I had a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in August of 2018 and have had amazing results, from 346 lbs to 172 lbs. Since November of last year I have been vomiting in my sleep sometimes and waking myself up. Also, I have always gagged after eating no matter the amount that I ate, even two ounces. I recently relocated to Florida and saw a surgeon here to establish care and he reviewed a recent CT that I had for a hospital visit for flank pain and discovered that my sleeve healed in a hourglass shape at the suture line and now my esophagus is narrowing from working so hard to push down food. I’m guessing the last step is to see the psychiatrist. I heard this was the hardest part. And actually determines if your insurance will approve you or not. Can anyone give me any advice on this?

Hi Guys, I had a gastric sleeve around 6 and a half months ago and have lost 87lbs so far which I’m delighted with as I am now only 7lbs from target. My issue is that the all the weight has come off everywhere apart from my belly! I’ve tried everything (exercising, healthy eating etc) but it just will not shift and I’m becoming a bit disheartened. Does anyone have any tips or ideas to start shifting some of this blubber?!

Hi i had surgery more then a year and half. I still feel hunger all the time. And then when it comes to wanting to drink I feel to full like I going to make myself sick. Some foods still make me throw up unfortunately so i learned to stay away from acidic foods which is hard I love anything pasta and pizza. And no I make it the healthy way. lol. Now I make the sauce with more diced tomatoes. I have fainting spells. Sometimes my body feels heavy. I am wondering if this is normal to still have symptoms. I haven't gone to my yearly appointment this july due to the pandemic and now there booked for awhile.

I’ve been researching wls for years and am finally scheduled to get a sleeve next month. Today I had a checkup with my PCP and mentioned I was having the surgery and he told me I absolutely shouldn’t. He said that while I would lose weight initially my stomach would stretch back and undo the surgery because I would keep eating how I’m eating (I actually eat very healthy, he has no idea about my diet, he was just guessing because I’m obese). I feel like I need to share my experience with others, as I wish someone would have shared the same with me years ago. My weight loss started over 20 years ago, never stopped since, culminating with a gastric sleeve in 2017 (SW 360, CW 250, GW<200). After the WLS I've lost about 70 lbs and hit the plateau which lasted a few months. I tried breaking it with intensive gym, calories counting, but no real impact. Hi! My names Jason, or Kai. I am transgender (MtF) and I am getting Gastric Sleeve soon. In about 2 years is when i’d be scheduled to see a surgeon about reassignment surgery. Id have to get my BMI down to 30, or at my height (6’1), 225 pounds. I am 18, CW/SW 460, Male, etc (can provide any info). I was wondering if, with the sleeve, can I reach my GW of 225 in 2 years? I know this is a tool, i’m planning on treating it as such. I plan not to stray from my diet and spend 10+ hours in the gym a week. I was just wondering if that was possible.

Just got home from my sleeve surgery. I was in the operating room at 7:30 am yesterday. Turns out I also had a small hiatal hernia so they repaired that while they were in there. The pain in my chest from the gas when I woke up in recovery was excruciating. Most of my stay wasn't too bad but I definitely didn't move much. Getting dressed and getting in the car were quite painful. I am home now and took a pain pill so I am feeling a bit better. All the nurses at Hackensack Medical Center in NJ were amazing! I am a bit congested (I think from the anesthesia) and it really hurts to try and cough. I'll check back in a few days and let you know how it is going.

Ok everyone I have questions!! My program requires me to take * Bariatric Multivitamin * Calcium Citrate * Vitamin B12 * Probiotic * Iron * Vitamin D Where does everyone buy their vitamins? Specifically the Multivitamin and Calcium?? Also, had anyone tried the Nectar fruity flavors? What do they taste like?? I read somewhere on here that they taste like juice rather than milky protein shakes. Can anyone confirm this?? I am so over milky chalky protein shakes.

Hello everyone. Im in the process of getting approved for gastric sleeve. On 02/16/2021 I complete my nutrition class. I was told I was only required to complete 1 class. So once I complete the class I will be done with everything for pre approval. However, I heard I will have to do a supervised diet. So when does this start and can i get an early start on it? I have Cigna so how long do they require you to do the supervised diet? I heard it can be anywhere from 3 months to a year.

Hi there, I am scheduled for VSG on 12/31 but I am having a very hard time deciding if I want to go through with it and am a nervous wreck! I have been dealing with high blood pressure for the past 5 years and am now pre-diabetic. Just wanted to see if anyone had any regrets of getting the surgery or second guessed it in the beginning. Had my gastric sleeve yesterday, Friday the 29th. They did the gastric sleeve and fixed an umbillical hernia. They did the sleeve with the davinci, and the hernia he had to make an inscision because the hole in my abdomal wall was too big. Drinking liquids is so strange, because you feel it drop to the bottom. When i came out of surgery the gas pain in my chest was horrible. Now, a day later the hernia pain feels worse than the sleeve, except when I drink sips, then the stomach feels raw. 6 inscision sites for the davinci for the sleeve, and 1 cut for the hernia. I’m getting a sleeve in a few weeks. I know we’re supposed to be low carb while losing weight but once you’re in maintenance can you have pasta at all? I have celiac disease so I don’t eat any kind of bread, I’m not a big rice or potatoes person in general, but since my celiac diagnosis a year ago I’ve loved making homemade pasta from brown rice flour and chickpeas. It’s soooo good and I don’t want to give it up, especially since it took me so long to find a recipe I liked. Right now I probably have it once maybe twice a week. If I make sure I stay under my carbs/calorie limit for the day is there a problem with having pasta regularly? I just feel guilty since it’s a food…

I had gastric sleeve surgery about a year and a half ago. For the past year I have had constant seeping flatulence which has just about ruined my life. I've had every test there is and the docs can't help me. I eat low fodmap and have taken so many pills that haven't helped. Anyone having this same experience? It's suspicious that this all started after my surgery. Just trying to see if this is happening to others and if you've found any help.

Hi, My sleeve was done about 9 days ago. Initially, I slept for 3 days with very minimal oral intake. Ended up 9.8 lbs DOWN when I woke up post-op day #4. I assume that wasn't fat loss since it had only been 3 days - probably just loss of water weight from no food/ limited water intake in those first few days when I wasn't awake enough yet, which I know is temporary artificial weight loss.
