Oh my gosh. So many things that all those appointments before surgery never touched on!!! I had surgery on Monday (Nov 24th) came home Tuesday. I am a pretty tough cookie but I haven't had any real pain?? Is that normal??? Smells are overwhelming and make me a little nauseous, doing dishes isn't physically demanding but the smells are hard ??? I love to sleep, sleeping was my favorite hobby now I am like a bunny on crack!! I lay in bed at night at have tried the sound machines, dark room, a little sleepy tea but if I sleep 5 hours a night its a lot???? Its just my husband and I (and the dog) at home and I we farm, I have all winter off and planned on r…

I’m so confused why scrambled eggs is on my week 2 ? I don’t have my post op nutrition visits until the 14th

Hello, this is my first post here. The reason for this post is because I am starting to feel really concerned that I stopped losing weight ever since the first week after surgery. During the first week I lost 20 lbs, but then I started gaining weight back (3-5 lbs, depending on the day). I had surgery about a month ago (Oct 5). I also noticed that I can eat a lot more than it seems like I should be able to. I did overeat a couple times, but it's because I can't really tell when I am feeling full until it's stuck in my throat and such, even when I eat very slowly. I know my food intake is a lot less than before the surgery, but it still seems like too much and I'm concerne…

Hi everyone. I'm so glad I came across this site as I have been desperate to talk to people to see how others have coled with their weight loss since surgery. I am really struggling and have found old bad eating habits have crept in again. I am 18 months post surgery and lost 7 stone 7lbs. Most of that ca.e off in the first year but the last 6 months nothing is coming off. It just stopped. I have mobility problems and walk with crutches and if I go out have to use an electric wheelchair. Because of this the surgeons said I would possibly lose 3 stone if I was lucky so in their terms I've.more than doubled my weight loss. But due to only being 5'1" I'm still…

Hi there, Does anyone here take stimulant medications for ADD/ADHD after getting sleeved? I have ADHD and have gone on and off medications since childhood. I currently take Vyvanse (an extended release stimulant medication) once a day and have been trying to find out whether or not I should talk to my doctor about changing to another medication after my sleeve surgery. I'm hoping someone who has had experience with this can help shed some light on managing ADHD after surgery. I'm still new so forgive me if this topic has already been posted. I really appreciate any and all suggestions, advice, and wisdom anyone can pass along!

I was sleeved almost a week ago. My Week 1 plan says I can have decaf coffee. I love the taste of coffee and decided to try it with adding my protein shake to it. I went to Starbucks and they suggested I get a ice Americano decaf. They guaranteed they didn’t put in classic syrup or anything additional. Came home to mix my protein shake and Decided to look up info. Google says decaf does not mean No Caffeine ? especially from Starbucks. I am struggling with dehydration. Has anybody had any issues with this combination end of week 1? I really need to get my protein in and was looking forward to this ?

Just wondering how my fellow female's cycles are going. I got an IUD about 2 years ago, haven't had a cycle until a month post op(about 3 months ago). I had 2 and now I missed my cycle this month. How crazy has your cycle been since weight loss? Did it ever go back to normal and if when how long did it take? Thanks.

Was sleeved on 11/10, and got to come home yesterday (11/12). I’m feeling great and working on getting in my liquids and protein, but I’m hurting in one incision. The largest incision that my doctor told me he pulled the excess stomach from is giving me a fit. I can’t even bend over to pull on a pair of leggings or socks. It gives me a sharp, shooting, burning pain all through that area. I know he had to cut muscle to get the excess out, but how long will it hurt like that? Like, it’s about to be cold here in TN y’all. ? Also, gas pain. I’ve been walking and walking, but I still feel like I have gas trapped in my upper chest and I can’t burp! Like, I’ve even tried …

Hello! I am currently 7 months pregnant and have wanted to get sleeve surgery for some time, but then I got pregnant! I see a lot of posts about getting pregnant post-sleeve but my question is how long after delivering my baby would I be able to get the sleeve done? Has anyone done it soon after giving birth? Thanks so much!

It seems as though just recently my stomach has been been rumbling, tumbling, and grumbling. I'm 2 years post-op sleeve. It's not hurting and I am certain nothing is wrong but I wondered if this is a permanent WLS thing or if it's because I'm drinking TONS of water after getting back on a healthy eating plan 3 weeks ago. Does your tummy grumble a lot?

Any Australians being sleeved in December? I'm on the 15th. My birthday's the 16th, so this will be the most expensive birthday present ever.

  24. I just got sleeved on the 9th. So far i am still on liquids post op. What does full feel like post sleeve surgery? so far, even when drinking shakes I don't feel much. I still drink them slowly....but only thing I ever feel is what I would pre-surgery call gas pain.....but I feel it randomly through out the day anyway, so I can't tell what full feels like anymore.

From the Debbie Downers all the way up to the Positive Peters... you all give advice and knowledge on a topic that you can't just talk to anyone about. We are all in the trenches TOGETHER. In a way we become a unit/family that relies on each other. We don't always say what people want to hear...we go one step further and say what people NEED TO HEAR!!! I think that is the most important thing. We all know that because we are rowing in the same direction....we will have a support system to lean on when things get tough. I go in on Wednesday. I had my gastric sleeve 3 weeks ago, and at first I had a bunch of issues getting my liquids in, but that is no longer the issue. I tried mashed potatoes and cottage cheese and both came right back up, but scrambled eggs and yogurt went down fine. Well, I was stupid and i take full responsibility for what i did. My family made some Spanish rice and i had some, not a huge amount, probably slightly over a quarter of a cup and it stayed down. But ever since then, anytime I eat anything, it wants to come up. Tonight I pureed some refried beans, which is allowed by my diet and I barely got a spoonful in and it started coming back up. The same thing happened earlier when I had…

Hi everyone! I’m having my sleeve surgery tomorrow at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles and I am so excited! I’m a bit nervous about the recovery process, so I was just wondering what tips or tricks you all may have for getting through the post op pain? I’m going to stay positive and strong but sometimes pain is pain. I’ve been on a pre-op mainly liquids diet for almost a month now and have dropped 25 lbs! So my weight going into surgery tomorrow is going to be 322 lbs. I’m a 6’1 31 year old male. I’m not sure what my goal weight should be, but ideally I’d love to get down to 225 lbs and in a dream world, be 200 lbs but I have a large frame so not sure if that’s doable…

I’m looking to get a revision to the sleeve. I start my nutrition appointments tomorrow and have a pyshch evaluation next Monday. They plan to remove the band in January hoping to move through the six months and become sleeved. Excited to begin this journey.

I am having outpatient surgery next Tuesday for Sleeve which is starting to set in and I’m freaking out. They told me I will be there only for 3 to 4 hours..... depending how I do on recovering from the Anesthesia. Doesn’t that seem too little of time? For some reason I am most scared of a Blood Clots. ( I am a hypochondriac) I have high blood pressure and they may also correct a small hiatus hernia in my stomach. Did everybody get blood thinners post op form home? My Dr only prescribed the pain medication and nausea medication. Is blood thinners usually only prescribed for people with previous blood clot issues? I’m also scared of getting COVID while recovering.…

So for the first time since probably middle school (30 years ago! (Omg that hurt)) I’m not technically obese per BMI charts! Broke below 240 this morning which puts me at 29. I have a friend who’s a pro body builder and he’s technically obese too without a lick of fat on him so I don’t really give much credit to those charts but I’ll take the little wins wherever I can!

Hello all, I am just over a week post op. My migraines have been coming back full swing. I am trying to figure out if I am still allowed Tylenol and if so at what dose? I used to take 2-3 500mg tablets. Doctor has not been able to advise.

A little over 2 weeks out, I went out and was on my feet for about 30 minutes, I felt like my legs might give way on me, had to go back to bed when I got home. I’m trying to get enough water and protein, does anyone know if a lack of either would make you feel this way? Took a walk last week and felt the same way. Frustrated.

  42. Hello all, I am diagnosed bipolar and was recently cleared by psychiatrist for gastric sleeve. My surgery date is 11-24 and I start diet tomorrow. I’m not sure if I should postpone this. I found out my husband had been cheating on me, my chronic pain has worsened, and I’ve been feeling extremely sad and hopeless. My bariatric team has been really, really horrible. A medical error was made for prescribing meds to clear H Pylori and I suffered a terrible allergic reaction. The doctors office is not very supportive, either. Has anyone been at a low point in their mental illness before going through surgery? If so, did you decide to proceed or delay surgery?

My sleeve surgery is scheduled for the end of January. I understand the importance of a high protein / low carb diet after the surgery. Are there any foods that I wont be able to ever eat again (bread, ice cream, etc.)? I am confident I can handle the high protein / low carb diet but would like to understand if there is anything that I need to give up forever. If I can eat bread, ice cream, etc. to some extent, will I have to be very careful given the risk of them making me sick? Thank you in advance for your response!

I deliver propane to peoples houses in metal cylinders weighing between 5kg to 40kg How long did you all have to wait before heavy lifting ? I still have 2 holes not sealed (2 went goopy under the scabs) I'm kind of scared I'm going to hurt my self

Well here's the story, I've been doing good but my weight loss has stalled for the past couple of weeks. Pretty consistently staying the same. We had to go out of town for a weekend. So friday I was good until dinner then I ate some BBQ ribs, coleshow, mac and cheese and two margaritas at Applebee's. In the hotel the next morning I ate two danishes for breakfast (basically all sugar and carbs) For lunch we ate at KFC. I had two wings and two biscuits and for dinner that night I eat the 2nd half of my ribs and the other two wings from lunch. Sunday I was afraid to step on the scale, so I didn't and I was good all day Sunday. This morning I got on the scale expecting the wo…

I have a question. According to my plan I’m not meant to have snacks (just 3 meals a day) and I need protein shakes to meet my daily protein requirements. So my meals contain food and a protein shake. E.g. breakfast is an egg and a Formulite shake, dinner a small piece of fish and a protein shake etc. Can I have my breakfast/meal in one hit or do I need to leave 30min between the solid and the fluid part of the meal?
