Hello everyone. Im in the process of getting approved for gastric sleeve. On 02/16/2021 I complete my nutrition class. I was told I was only required to complete 1 class. So once I complete the class I will be done with everything for pre approval. However, I heard I will have to do a supervised diet. So when does this start and can i get an early start on it? I have Cigna so how long do they require you to do the supervised diet? I heard it can be anywhere from 3 months to a year.

I'd just call the customer service line at Cigna and ask them. Or check your policy - it's probably written somewhere. Many policies seem to require six months, but not all.

All programs and policies vary. Some require six months supervised diet, meaning you check in and weigh/chart progress/get feedback at least once every month (6 times).
