I was banded on June 25th. I was excited about being banded but since having the procedure must of my excitement has died. Now there's just a lot of fear. All of the "what ifs" are taking over and the constant thought is what if I don't lose the weight or what if I do and I hate my new body because of loose skin. Sheesh. I wanna be positive but it's still a struggle. I had so many bad habits before surgery and they don't just go away with the band. Although I know I can't eat certain things I still crave them. I'm a sweet lover so I'm going through withdrawal in a sense. I just don't know. I'm in search a weird space emotionally and this just isn't what I expected after s…

Sometimes its a bit frustrating but for the most part I kinda like the routine (though its tricky fitting it all in and moving from stage to stage). I've lost about 22lbs and am fairly active, looking forward to the gym this week! Glad I found this forum!

  16. Hello all! I have been a member for a couple of months but have been a little shy about posting. I was sleeved April 19, 2012. I went to a free seminar that the surgeon had back in July of 2011. After much prayer and thought I decided to go through with the surgery. I had to do a 6 month supervised diet and at the time I was annoyed at the fact that I had to wait. Now that I am post op I am so glad that I had the 6 months to prepare. I think that if I hadn't had the 6 months I would be completely lost now. The day finally came for surgery. I wasn't nervous at all. My post op course has been uneventful. I have been truly blessed. I just joined this forum because I was so excited today when I finally got my date for surgery which will be Friday April 13. My top weight was 509.8 and I am down to about 440 now.. I had been closer to getting into the 300's last year but when they increased my insulin, the pounds followed me back! I am ready to get healthy! I have type II diabetes, lymphedema, COPD, arthritis, sleep apnea and of course I am super morbidly obese. This will all be changing soon, one pound at a time!

I honestly do not want to wait 18 months for this. I am feeling discouraged with the whole procedure and feel like it will never get started. Any help. I'm from California Los Angeles

I do 45 mins. of aerobics everyday followed by 2 miles on the treadmill. I'm not losing anything! My family says that I am tightening up but I don't feel it in my clothes. I watch what I eat and I just don't get it. I really need some support. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I'm still on my 2 weeks liquids which I'm doing but they want you to do 60oz of water and 60oz of protein shake and I'm not anywhere near that yet. I'm sipping as much as I can but my mouth still feels dry all the time. I know it will get easier but just the wait of it and when is killing me. If you have any suggestions or tips I'm all ears! Thanks everyone! Good luck to all and let me know if I can be of any help. I will be covering this support group in my prayers!

I am now at 243 at one month. My surgery was performed due to me having been in an accident that damaged my back and the weight is putting too much pressure on everything. I guess part of it is natural right? Food is at the core of our necessities but when did a nice fishing trip, stroll thru the park or anything else become about where I am going to eat before or after. Everything was going GREAT!! I wasn't havering any issues, complications, and I was dropping in weight. Until at about 4 weeks post op. I started to introduce really soft foods into my diet, and it went well for the first two days. Then after a meal, I found myself hugging the toilet. New goal will be to get to my goal weight of 120. I definitely don't regret this surgery. It has saved my life.

I am excited and scared for this as I have watched my weight increase by 75 pounds in the last 4 years. I have tried everything it seems. But I just can't stop eating and getting larger and larger. I have always struggled with my weight and my parents started me on diets when I was 12 years old. It has consumed more than half of my life.
