Discouraged ..

I am trying to get a referral from my normal doctor to go see a surgeon for wls. Which my normal doctor does not like wls. I called the office and they said that from past experiences my medical group usually has patients do an 18 month program before they can be referred. I honestly do not want to wait 18 months for this. I am feeling discouraged with the whole procedure and feel like it will never get started. Any help. I'm from California Los Angeles

Do you have a *** or PPO? Can you switch PCP? If so, I would do that. First find out if it's covered by your insurance and then get what their qualifications are. Once you have that info take it from there and find a PCP that will refer you. I'm sure everything will work out for you just don't give up.
