  1. I am very excited about my upcoming date for banding. I am 3 weeks from the "BD" . This past week just drug by. I am trying to increase my water intake and cut out soda's and coffee out of my diet this week. Next week I will drop all the bread and pasta's from my diet. I am adding protein shakes next week. Anyone else getting banded by Lap Band VIP in Southern California?

Hi , I just had my vertical sleeve just 2 weeks ago.I think that I am doing fine. Still home recovering and will be for 2 more weeks.Luckily I had a really good experience and great surgeon and hospital care. I am learning lots of things about my " new stomach". I am learning how to use my kitchen in new ways now. But if I follow my diet instructions exactly as written then I feel like things will go as well as they have. My pain level is really pretty good now. I still have a "catch" where all the "big" stuff happened . But that is moving along pretty well also. I just learn to listen to my body and rest when I need to. Got a rash from the tape over the in…

It seems incredible to me that I have actually done this! I just returned from Tijuana, Mexico where I had my Gastric Sleeve done by Dr Fernando Garcia at the Hospital Mi Doctor. My sister drove me down to San Ysidro (right before entering Mexico) and a driver (Samuel) was arranged to pick us up to drive us across the border and then to the Marriott for the first night. Rosie greeted us after we were checked in and then gave a basic loose schedule for the next day. The next day a shuttle took us to the Hospital and all the preliminary stuff happened... blood tests, visits by all the doctors that would follow up and then the IV was administered. Shortly after that it …

  13. Hi. I was sleeved Feb.19. In the hospital 2 days no complications. Went back to work in a week. Everythig seems to be going well. I have lost 26lbs. I am a very impatient person and want this to happen like yesturday. I know it takes time though. I have been overweight for most of my adult life. I love this site. Everyone has great advice and when I am feeling like this is going to take forever I read everyones post and I seem to be where I should be. I do get hungry especially at night (I work nights) at around 9pm. I just drink my crystal light and suck it up. Well I guess I am done. Just wanted to introduce myself.

I had the sleeve done on March 5th. With the one week liquid diet before surgery and one week after surgery I lost 14 pounds. However I have only lost 1 pound in the past week. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I get all my liquids in and can eat soft foods. Mostly fish, green beans, yogart and oatmeals are my food intake. Thoughts?

Some observations from the past two weeks. Wardrobe - For those who are starting their weight loss journey, I cannot stress the importance of an accessory you will need in the recent future. Belts! Yes belts. If you have a body type like mine, Scottish no ass syndrome, then a belt is a necessary evil. Why? Well the world around us is not as understanding as it once was. I was in Wal-Mart last week walking through the home goods section and almost lost my pants. Fortunately for me no …

Hi all Ok so I'm kinda new to this forum and new to using forums in general so be nice lol. I was approved for lap RNY a few weeks ago (took long enough lol) and for some reason I have a distinct lack of excitement. Is this normal? I guess I still believe it's not going to happen. My family keeps trying to reassure me, but for some reason its still not sinking in. It's strange, I even have a date and everything (June 18th, 2013). Maybe I'll be more excited when the date gets closer... Despite this, I was worried about some things. The number one that scares me about this surgery is being left with great billowing folds of skin afterwards. I saw pics on google and now …

I just had two amazing interviews for a job I think I will LOVE and could stay at for years. Insurance package hasn't been presented to me yet except that it is BCBS. Here's some background. I am currently employed as a homecare RN case manager. I travel up to 150 miles per day doing patient care. I make about 63,000/year. Lots of sedentary car sitting, bad food choices being made, really really don't like what I do but if I can put up with it for 6 months I can transfer out into the ER where I love …

A friend of mine got banded years ago....and she wanted me to follow suit. No way would I ever have WLS, there was no reason medically, I was healthy as a horse. I did feel down after I HAD to go shopping when I HAD to have something new. I did always feel like the biggest girl in the room, I did hate to have my picture taken....but I was healthy, I had a husband who loved me big or small. No way, hell would freeze over first. Well three years passed and my friend had lost 60 lbs and she had not died. Ok, positive things, but still. At 2 o'clock one morning, I got up to go to the bathroom and my tummy was in my lap.....right then and there, I made the decision to…

Pain, burning, constant reflux, draining of Fluid gave relief, putting back in never got to right restriction again. Gained 40 lbs back in year playing around w stupid piece of plastic. Could not tolerate the reflux and constant vomiting any more as of summer 2012.
