Okay so I know through this whole process I have had ups and downs and I know I'm not the only one!! And right now I'm on an extremely good place but I sometimes feel bad for going on about my progress and how great I feel with my friends, so I thought I would do a post and let everyone share their victories big or small that they want to brag about... A little back ground on me, I had my surgery July 25, 2014, in Mexico! My starting weight was 336 and my weight today is 226! So like I said I'm extremely happy with my progress and yesterday I had a check up with my family doctor and he is as well.. My blood pressure has gone way down, my aches and pains are gone, and be…

had my sleeve on april 23rd 2015. surgery went fine and i was up and walking later on the same evening of the surgery. had a little gas issues but nothing major. went home the next day after surgery stayed focused on the clear liquids. 2 days post op, i went to the gym and walked a mile before running of of energy. then the next day, i was able to go 2 miles, and my energy level is slowly coming back. im sure it will take time to regain all my strength but im actually shocked at how great i feel so far! looking forward to the next few weeks of my journey!

  3. My name is Corinne and I had gastric bypass surgery right before new years eve Dec. 30, 2014. My starting weight at the beginning of this process was 314. I am 5'7 and have always been a curvy girl but my "come to Jesus" moment was when I found myself exhausted just from playing with my niece for only 10 minutes. I have never been insecure about my weight but I knew that I wanted to be around for my family and have a family of my own someday. Add to that taking blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, and dealing with joint pain after a knee injury I knew it was time to make a real change to save my own life! I am 32 years old and want to start fresh. I also am motivated by…

I became overweight at 10 or 11 y/o. Since high school I've tried losing weight & failed. I gave up back when I was 23 y/o & ended up in the icu for 5 days due to pneumonia & breathing problems. I lost 15 lbs during my visit, came home & continued to eat healthy with my family. But somehow I fell off the wagon a year later, oh and I never lost more weight. Until mid-August 2014 to now I have lost 45 lbs. I'm happy to have lost that much weight & not put it back on. I've been trying to eat less & slowly getting rid of my favorite soda, Dt Dr Pepper. Lol! That's my cryptonite. Some days I splurge & eat til I can't anymore. Which is part of why I…

I am home from my surgery! It was so much better than I expected. I am so happy and amazed I feel so good. It could be that I'm still full of pain meds. Lol I did opt for the pain block from my anesthesiologist...Highly recommended! I was up walking around 15 minutes after coming back to my room. I did not have to stay the night in the hospital. I had a successful swallow test, which allowed me to see my new smaller stomach. So far everything is great! I hope everyone feels this good! Stats: 258 start start 244 surgery day (10 day liquid diet)

Hi gang. I'm new to the forum. I'm currently in the process of getting my gastric sleeve. I must say this is an extremely scary process. Especially since I don't have anybody to talk to about it. Of course I have my family but my mom is so afraid of the doctor she's always bringing up the worst. Any insight to this will be helpful. Thanks all

So I had heard that the process goes fast then slow then fast again. Well its true! I was so excited when I went for my consult on January 29th of this year and began the journey to surgery. I went to do my required pre-op and psych evaluation. I retrieved all my paperwork from my pcp and get everything turned in. Then disaster happened, the person handling my pre-cert went out on maternity leave early and the person taking over dropped the ball every way it could be dropped. My wonderful husband took up the baton and went to the insurance company and got them to overturn their denial due to lack of information and now I am approved!! I am so excited again and t…

Hey there, I had my surgery on the 23rd of April ... At weigh in I lost 23lbs. Was released from hospital on the 24th. I got up and walked right away since I was terrified of getting blood clots in my legs.. Little to no gas in hospital but home I've been burping and passing gas a ton.. Still on liquid until the 30th and sugar free but I have a feeling that sugar free is really bothering my new stomach. Anyway I feel great ... My question is when did you all start to see weight loss did it take a few weeks? Or was it right away I've stepped on the scale a couple times since being home and no change.

Hello everyone, I am new here and I am having gastric bypass this Friday, May 1, 2015! I am excited and nervous all at once. I'll give a bit of background: I have always been big. I have also always been tall. I was usually the tallest/biggest in my class throughout school. I played sports so that helped keep some weight off but I have been in plus sizes for as long as I can remember. I struggled with an eating disorder (binge-eating) for several years but went through an amazing program and have been binge-free for 10 months now. I tried so many different diets and ways to lose weight with no success. I finally decided in October 2014 to begin the process of gett…

I've been using it lately I snore and wake up snore and wake up, and on it goes.I'm not able to tell if I quit breathing, but I have heard silence after I snore. I've got some health issues and I believe silly depression is setting in. I don't get out much or have a lot of friends. I want to like a duck when I walk in…

So I am having a rough few days. I was sleeved 3/23 and lost 20 pounds in just over 2 weeks. I had lost 30 pounds prior to surgery. Since then, I have only lost another 5 pounds. I find this very discouraging. I know what I need to do and am doing it. I weigh my portions and log everything. I will be starting the soft foods stage on Monday and a looking forward to having some more options. I have logged every little bite that I have eaten on myfitnesspal. I work out at least 5 times per week. I even did a spin class last week. (I rocked it, by the way.) The weight is just not coming off. 32. I'm confused. I see people on this forum talking about eating hard-ish foods very soon after surgery. Things like meat, cheese, fast food. Also, drinking sweet milks, pop, etc. I was under the distinct impression you're on liquids for weeks to help heal and not damage the sutures/staples. I intend on doing the four phases of food consistencies. But why, or how do people get away with going off their plans and seriously risk damage or dumping? Am I missing the boat here?

It's been an emotional week.......1st of all I got a go ahead from a clinic and put finance in place for my surgery, then I got a phone call from the surgeons secretary to say he wouldn't do it. I was devastated, after hrs of crying and disappointment I spoke to the clinic again and spoke to a different lady. She couldn't understand why I had been refused and she approached a different Dr at a different hospital. Finally today I get a yes and an appointment for an initial consultation on the 2nd May.....just 7 days away. I have passed all the health questions so at the moment there is no reason to think it won't happen!!!! Fingers crossed!
