I was sleeved on April 23rd down 20 lbs pre op and 14 lbs so far post op. I know it's not going to be over night but it's getting really depressing my family isn't being as supportive as I thought they would be. My family eats fast food almost every night while I enjoy broth (hooray for purée, started today) it's really getting on my nerves. I think I'm more on edge than ever ... Please tell me I'm not the only one has had a down moment through this process... I'm feeling like I shouldn't have done this having a lot of regrets.

I am little overwhelmed because I don't know which hospital are safe or what doctor to really use. I been in contact with three different ones the first I found was Dr. Mario Almanza @ weight loss agent at Jerusalem hospital and that's a no deal for me, I'm scared of Jerusalem hospital. So I was sleeved 1/8/15 (Sw:277 Cw:238) and for the whole month of April I was stuck at 242lbs it looks like I knocked a few more pounds off since May has started but what do I do about my very slow weight loss? I'm in the gym for 5-6 hours a week! And I'm on a 0 carb 1,000 calorie diet As directed! Oh and maybe I should add that I was on depo-provera shot which my last shot I received in February so it should be wearing off any day now.. But has this happen to anyone? does anyone know where this stall came from!! S.o.s!!

Today is T minus 10 days to surgery and Day 1 of the pre op diet. My Doc prescribed a low carb max 1000 calories pre op diet with the suggestion of protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and a light dinner. I had to take the scouts camping tonight so I did my best to adhere to the diet. I did the protien shake for breakfast and lunch. For dinner we cooked beef and potato burritos. I only had one, which is very challenging for me. They tasted delicious but I was also hungry. I also packed some veggies and has them as a snack. I tracked it all in myfitnesspal and came out at 747 calories. Not to shabby. Day 1 down, onto Day 2.

I'm not new here but this is my first post. I've been a lurker since 2012 when I first decided I wanted to research weight loss surgery. I had just finished completing my first half marathon and felt great so why not. I was ready for a change. At that time I weighted 244 lbs. My physician sent a referral and I started a 12 week program with a nutritionist and a behaviorist. All I kept hearing during those 12 weeks was how I wasn't going to be able to eat "normal" foods again. I remember thinking I'm not going to be able to eat in a few months I'll eat now. (How silly of me). I had to keep a food and exercise journal during the 12 weeks. All I kept thinking was w…

I had my long awaited surgery on Thursday. I am still in the hospital 2 days later and I want so badly to go home. Uhhh! My surgery went well except I lost more blood than expected during the surgery. My surgeon told me that when they moved my spleen out of the way, the capsule that covers it is very fragile so it started to bleed. I didn't need a blood transfusion, thank God because they stopped the blood in time. Other than that, I feel great. I'm walking, feeling no pain, just minor discomfort. My appetite is non existent. They have given me a breakfast, lunch and dinner of chicken broth, jello, decaf tea, crystal light and water. After a few sips of b each,…

HAVE YOU GAINED WEIGHT AFTER YOUR SLEEVE. Hello everyone. I haven been on this forum for quite a while. I was sleeved back in June 2012. I had the lapband revision to sleeve. So far I've lost 45lbs give or take. My starting weight was 216. I lost my first 20 very quickly but from there on its was like pulling teeth.LOL. Anyhow a year to the day I had emergency gallbladder surgery and had to stop working out for a few month, gained a couple of pounds I was able to loose them again. For the past year and half I had endured Iron infusion for my low iron and hemoglobin. In December my OB/GYN decided I needed a total hysterectomy had the surgery done December 19 again…

Hello everyone, my name is Free. I had gastric bypass surgery April 6th. So far I've lost 31lbs & I'm feeling pretty good. My surgery was actually a revision from lapband surgery that I had back in 2009. My band slipped and I had it removed back in February. It's good to be able to join this group. Glad to meet, share and support you all on this journey. Good luck and congrats to you all.

I am proud to say that I have officially lost 138.7 lbs since my journey began! I couldn't be more happier with my decisions and would not change a thing... I've had my struggles (obviously) but pushed through and am succeeding I still have another 40lbs to go and I am hoping that I will hit that by August... Very excited to finally be in ONEderland!! Has anyone ever thought of taking Protein tablets? I don't feel like drinking Protein shakes, or the protein Water... I can eat chicken and fish but the extra protein with shakes doesn't help, hate the taste. I am 2 months post op and I need the 70gms of protein without fail, I m so sure I m not meeting the needs. And In case you don't have enough protein, your body takes protein from the muscles and we become frail. I don't wanna become frail, just wanna lose the fat. If anyone has taken them please gimme your reviews, if not anyone else facing the same problem as me?

  30. Hi guys, I've struggled with my weight since childhood. I was put on meds in high school for attention deficit and lost a bunch of weight. I felt great about myself, boys were noticing me for the first time, I was pretty happy with life. Sometime in college I went off the meds because I couldn't stay awake without them and I didn't like that my body depended on them. Slowly the weight crept back on and it's been here ever since. The only minor health issues I have are PCOS and a mild case of sleep apnea. I'm super excited to dive into this sight and read on all these specific topics I've been wondering about. I found the first few days in hospital after surgery relatively fine however I have had severe heartburn since day one. I haven't been able to take any pain medication without finding myself in pain trying to get it down. It feels as though I have something lodged in my chest and I feel like I need to drink Water to get it down, but that just makes it worse! Hello everyone - I actually started my WLS journey over a year and a half ago. I had a very difficult time losing the required weight for my program. Anyway, I was heart-set on having the sleeve but when I finally met with my surgeon on April 30th he told me that my upper GI scan showed that I have reflux, which the sleeve can actually make worse. So, after much consideration, I decided to switch to the bypass, because after all, I am having this surgery to try and help me fix problems, not create new ones. But I do have to admit I am a bit apprehensive. I chose the sleeve originally because it is a more straightforward surgery without any rerouting of intestines. I would…

On February 28th of this year I weighed 350 lbs, on a 5'8" frame. This is the heaviest I have ever been. That's when I contacted another surgeon's office. So far, I've had my first nutrition appt, psych eval completed and approved!, And I was told I would have 3 more nutrition appts, last one being 6/29. Surgery could be as early as July! As soon as I saw 350 on the scale (BMI 51), I made some nutritional changes. As of yesterday, I am now 314.8. I'll still be eligible for surgery, just want to be the…

  39. So pre-sleeve days whenever I would wake up, be it a 5 minute nap or 9 hour all nighter, I would wake up and eat mindlessly. It didn't matter what I ate, just so long as I could shovel something in my mouth. Also, often during the night I would wake and eat. It's now one week past my surgery and I'm struggling with waking and not heading straight to the kitchen. I wake and try to eat something that dissolves to a smooth paste, eat too much, start sliming or being miserable and uncomfortable. This is hard. I suspect you all know this.
