  3. Hi there - I live in Boise and had the sleeve surgery back in June. I am sure it'll go great, just remember to sip that Water afterward and move around as much as you can to work out any gas. You got this!
  4. Hi Sharon - I'm a big fan of Syntrax nectar protein powders. My favorites are chocolate, vanilla, and orange dreamsicle. My other big favorite is a brand called Javapro - I use the espresso flavor and make coffee drinks with sugar-free syrup flavors. Gotta keep it interesting! I mix mine with unsweetened soy milk and Water. Hope this helps.

  7. I'm on pureed food now and I've been eating egg salad, tuna salad, SF pudding with unflavored Protein powder mixed in, and always a Protein shake in the morning (either one of my go-to Syntrax flavors, or a Premier pre-made one). Tonight I tried pureed ground turkey with a wedge of laughing cow cheese and some mustard mixed in. It wasn't half bad. My fave so far is refried Beans, chicken, cheese and salsa all blended up. Good luck.
  8. Yes, we flew back (two legs with a layover in San Francisco) a few days after, and honestly, the pain was not a big deal for me. I know everyone is different, but as long as I wasn't engaging my core muscles (because yes, your abs will hurt!) I was really in no pain. I feel lucky that I had no vomiting or sickness going home (I was concerned about that). Really, after the first few days, the nausea was gone for me and I felt a lot better.

  10. Yes! I was sleeved by Dr. Ortiz on June 4. Great care before, during and after. The facility is top-notch and everything rolled just as I expected it to. He's clearly very skilled and while there are many great choices, Dr. Ariel Ortiz is certainly one of them. Best wishes.

  15. Hi Gaelsmom - yes, I'm going to OCC. My surgery is next Thurs. June 4th. Can't believe it's almost here....
  16. Hi Julie - yes, I will see you there! You'll be one day ahead of me. My husband and I are coming from Idaho. Would be great to keep in touch.
  17. @@FancyCakes are you going to OCC? My surgery is June 4, so if you are, we'll definitely be there at the same time.

  24. Hello @@jenn1 @@DesWill @@Tweety208 @@Babbs I just wanted to say hello - I am getting sleeved June 4 but will be doing so outside of Boise, as I am self-pay. I really want to attend a support group at St. Luke's but I'm not sure that's Kosher if I'm not a patient of Drs. Korn or Valentine? Hope you all enjoyed the sunshine today.
  25. @ we are surgery pals! My date is 6/4 also, and I will be in TJ with OCC (the "other" Dr. Ortiz). I am pretty anxious and getting started with pre-op diet, exercise, and getting into the right mindset.
