Hey! Had surgery On 4/28 with no real issues. Have the premier shakes and they are too strong and taste gross. Trying to do at least 1 a day but have been leaning to Greek yogurt. Took my time, no problems. This morning had 1 scrambled egg and a piece of well chewed bacon. Took 15 minutes to eat it. Feel so much better that I'm eating real food. Anyone else not tolerate the liquid stage? I wanna be successful but can't be miserable the whole time.

Hi. I had the sleeve on May 7th. Things have been running smoothly so far. I came home from the hospital yesterday and today is the first day I can eat puréed foods. My biggest question this far is, "How do I know when I'm full?" Im having "soreness" when swallowing liquids or puréed food. I'm assuming that will go away eventually.

I'm 5 weeks post-op VGS. I love my surgeon and the PA, but I'm simply fed up with the office staff. I been lied too so many times and they think I'm stupid. I all about basic questions to. Today, I finally snapped and I don't plan on going back. I have my 6wk post op on 5/15, but I'm canceling it. I deserve better treatment. What type of doctor should I continue my post surgery care with? Both bariatric clinics are 1.5 hours away and since I've had my surgery, I don't believe I need to see a surgeon. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I am almost 1 month to my surgery date, less than two weeks away from my pre-op class, 7 lbs away from the weight I have to be for pre-op, and I am in distress! There is so much pulling on me that I am completely overwhelmed! As a self-confessed emotional eater, the first thought is to comfort myself with food. However, that can no longer be an option. I am hard on myself a lot. I know I need to relax, but I'm heading towards a life-changing moment here and life doesn't care. I have to pay almost half out-of-pocket for this surgery because of a pitiful insurance. I don't want to put my family in financial strain because of my choice. I feel bad. I feel guilty. I feel scar…

I finally turned a corner after the first week of throwing up every 5 seconds. I am almost able to get in my water and protein! Yeah me! Today I started pureed foods. I had cottage cheese for lunch and a scrambled egg with cheese for dinner. My doc wants me to get 600 calories a day and wants me to eat 3 meals with no snacks. I'm sort of confused because without snacks I can't get 600 calories? So what was everyone's favorite pureed food at this point? And snack? Oh and protein? Everything is so sweet it kind of grosses me out...which is weird since I used to love sweets. How are all you other April sleevers doing? Btw...I've lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks! Yeah me!

I am so frustrated! I'm four & half weeks out and have felt pretty miserable for as many weeks. I developed reflux and had to tame that. I am still pretty nauseous all the time. I have had bronchitis since having the surgery. Coughing is the most miserable thing right after surgery—and I've been doing it for 4 weeks! I finally saw my PCP and got a round of antibiotics (liquid-yuck!) but not sure they actually worked as the cough and yuckiness that comes up with it are still there. The liquid and puréed phases were truly difficult especially since the smell of whey protein powders made me sick. Nevertheless, I've still been able to get in most of my proteins on most …

Hi! My story begins as far back as I can remember. I have always been fat and felt horrible about it. Even as a 3 and 4 year old child, I can remember hating being bigger than my friends. That has continued to be the theme of my life, but only on the inside. I never let anyone know what is truly going with me, not even the people that I am closest to. Saying these things on here now is the equivalent of running through the halls of my work naked. I don't know why I can't express myself openly. I have a wonderful husband of 21 years and three awesome daughters. They all think I'm the most confident and outgoing person but really on the inside I feel anything but that. I …

Today is my 7 days post the surgery. While the weight loss is not significant I had a small victory of sorts today. My doctor has just informed me that starting now I can stop all diabetes medications. pills and insulin that had kept me company twice a day are to be gone from now. Just this has made the surgery worth the effort. Of course, I need to monitor the sugar levels which i plan to do twice a day with the home machine. Warm regards, Nagaraj

It has been a month today and for the last two weeks I wake up every morning with the aches and pains of a head cold. During the day it gets a little better but I keep a runny nose. I hear that others have runny nose as a sign that they have ate too much. But my nose runs all day before I eat. Has anyone else experience The Head Cold Syndrome ?

Im a 30 year old Mother of two, and I recently had my surgery on Jan 19th, 2015. My family warned me not to do it, but I did it anyway. I am now 6 weeks out and everyday is a rollarcoaster of emotions and sadness. I have a great support system, but I am always depressed. I feel like its taking its toll on my family, my love life and my career. I am also a full time student, and my grades are slipping. If I do not keep them above a C, i wont get my funding. The main reason for my depression is I always feel weak and tired, I cant get enough Protein and Water in. All smells repulse me and i cant eat. On top of it all, I always have a tummy ache. I am also very constipated w…

Hello everyone, my name is Dominique! I am 19 years old! I'm from Boston Mass, though I currently live in Florida. I'm studying to become a veterinarian and currently have my Vet assistant license issued to me by the state of Florida. I work part time as a Junior processor at a mortgage company and got to college full time! I'm 5'0 and weighed 195 prior to my gastric sleeve surgery. I had the sleeve done April 29 in Tijuana, Mexico. I am about 2 weeks in and have already lost 16 pounds! So far I have had a lot of ups and down from the surgery, and sometimes wonder if I got it too young or jumped into it too soon, but I've been getting a lot of support from family members …

Greetings from Thailand. After several months of thinking finally did the Sleeve to Bypass on April 30, 2015. Having gone through the sleeve process once, I am excieted about the results that I am yet to see at the same time bing realistic. Weight loss is minimal as of now but I know what to expect in the next few months. Have a few boxes of clothes that I plan to fit into. On the other side, my diabetes seems to be going too low with my old medication, almost had a blackout with low sugar yesterday. With the support of all the wellwishers here I will soon be on on the way to being fine again. Warm regards, Nagaraj

Hello everybody, I hope this post finds you all well. Firstly, I am unsure how to update my information on my profile so any advice would be greatly appreciated. My name is Adele, I am 31 and started off my journey at 266lbs. I had my sleeve 27th April 2015 so am still recovering and finding it very difficult. I am not as sore as what I was but am still very sore all the same, especially from the stomach drain incision which has leaked a few times from the force of me being sick several times. I find it very hard to drink water, it's uncomfortable to swallow and instead I find thicker drinks like Slim fast go down easier. I feel like I am hungry... Is that normal? I ha…

Now I'm 3 weeks post op as of today. I'm down 17 lbs and I know that's a big deal, but when family tells me you look a little smaller. I don't believe them and I think that their just being nice because they know about the surgery, and I don't see any changes. So when they say that I answer by saying, "whatever." I hope you understand and can relate to what I'm saying.

Hi, My names Sarah and I had my sleeve surgery on April 5th. It was a realy quick surgery, only half an hour! Seems sticking to my pre op diet paid off. Worst part to be honest, was the gas trapped under my rib cage. First few days were awful, would go for my walks around the ward and still feel awful but in the long run it could have been much worse. Was discharged after 2 nights and took the full two weeks from work to recover. Started on mushed foods this week with mixed results, having issues with heartburn and knowing when I'm full, couple of vomiting moments already. So far I've lost 15kg including my pre op diet drop, which I'm pleased about. Im pretty happy …

I am 19 days post op. The first 13 days I lost 19 lbs. I feel great! I had my post op last Tuesday and started my 1/4-1/2 cup of soft protein once a day since then. I am following my doctors directions exactly, 2 shakes and my "meal." I drink my water, I'm active, I walk, I am doing everything right...BUT I have not lost a pound since adding my food. Not a pound in a week! What am I doing wrong? Anyone else?

Not much to report at the 15 week 105 day mark after surgery..down to 204 from 260! .. Eating fine, walking 10k steps a day, lots of energy as well as motovation, that was missing before the surgery. I find myself in perpetual motion lately, unable or willing to slow down. Maybe that is a direct effect of actually sleeping so much better every night with the 55lb weight loss. This is an unexpected benefit I only recently realized. Weight loss over the last month has been steady but slow....averaging 1.5 to 2.5lbs a week. This is ok with me, with only the last 25 or so pounds to go, I seem to be getting into a good routine now that gets me enough Water and Protein a…

Hi everyone. I'm having a sleeve done in a couple hours. I need to be at the hospital by 6:30 am to have my sleeve. I'm super nervous. I have been reading all the stories on this app and it's not helping my nerves. I know what to expect but that doesn't mean it will be my reality because in actuality everybody is different. I'm just relying on God to make sure that everything from my surgery to recovery goes better than expected!
