  7. I am 3.5 weeks post op and my birthday was July 3rd. My family and friends all joined me at the drive-in movie theater that night. People brought their own food, and I happily watched Terminator and San Andreas with my turkey and cheese roll ups. Everyone had a great time.

  9. I am in "the stall" right now, as well. I'm not worried about it in the least because my body has always been rebellious to the process. Why would I expect anything less now? LOL! Just continue doing what you are supposed to do. Follow your doctor's plan. There is no way I am not losing weight only eating 1/2 cup at a time...roughly 600-650 calories a day (on a good day) and walking. It's the same for you. Look for other ways to monitor your progress (like inches lost or clothes fitting better) and be patient. It doesn't have a choice but to come off eventually. I am at 3.5 weeks post op. Be encouraged.

  12. Hi, Erato! I'm doing really well. I'm getting my protein and liquids in and walking as much as I can handle. The gas!!! Yikes! Is it still as bad 4 weeks out? How are you doing?

  14. I can 1000% relate to your concern about losing weight. I struggle with that right now. However, what I know for sure is that I am not going to give up until I reach my goal. Attitude is everything. The surgery allows us a "reset." I'm learning to eat all over again as if I was a baby. I consider that a gift, not a prison sentence. Even on my worst day, I have to remember that. We can do it.
  15. I am four days post-op in San Antonio with no complications so far. I'm so excited to be on the other side of this now. God's blessings on those headed in! I'm cheering for you!
  16. got2bslim4me.. How is the mental preparation going for you?? What are you specifically worried about? grace, I decided to trust the process, trust my research, trust my surgeon, and most importantly trust God. The day before surgery I was focused on cleaning out, packing up, and spending the evening with my family. The morning of surgery, I went in confident and by the time they finished my IV, I was meeting the anesthesiologist and getting on the table. It still feels like a dream, but they made sure that I left with all questions answered.
  17. rgodfrey09, Surgery went great. I was the first one on the table on Wednesday morning and in a room by noon. I was discharged the very next day after finishing close to 50% of two trays. I'm really blessed. The gas has been manageable, but I have been in some pain. My doc wouldn't give me anything other than Tylenol 3, and it is honestly useless. Each day I am feeling stronger and stronger. I had guests for the first time, and they said that they couldn't even tell I had had surgery. How did it go for you? Are you home yet?

  19. JCrumm, Thank you! I need to lose 212 lbs to make it to my goal weight, so I know you will be a great resource for me. I have done lots of research, but there are still things that are remain gray areas for me. So, I will definitely have some questions. I have sent you a friend request so we can remain in touch.

  21. Jody48, My surgeon is Dr. Patel. I go in for surgery on June 10.
  22. That's awesome! What a coincidence. I would rather be at North Central Baptist, but my surgeon uses Southwest General. Although you cannot be a mentor just yet, I would love to keep in touch as we share this journey at the same time. Please add me as a friend and God bless! Six days!
  23. I am literally one week away from surgery, and I am all over the place mentally and physically. I would love to pair up with someone 1+ years post-op. I can use all of the motivation and support I can get!
  24. I am exactly one week away from surgery! I don't know what to do with myself lately. I'm all over the place! Anyone else have surgery scheduled on or near June 10?

  26. You can do it! I actually have been doing my pre-op diet to lose the 27lbs I needed to lose and didn't even realize! LOL Are you on 2 shakes a day/1 meal, all liquids or something else?

  28. Thank you so much for your advice. I am happy to report that not only was I 25 lbs down, I was actually 31 lbs down by weigh-in. I need to throw my home scale in the trash!!! LOL! I am SO relieved!
