Though I have not had my surgery yet, I was looking to get my Vitamins ahead of time. Problem is, I have no idea what to get. Brand wise, price wise, what is the best? Those of you that are Post-OP....what are you taking? Where did you get them? My doctor can't burn it into my brain enough that after my surgery I need to take VITAMINS VITAMINS VITAMINS!

Hi everyone, I had my records submitted a month ago and am awaiting approval, it is so stressful waiting! I have been on pre diabetic high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I am on medication for all of those. I chose the gastric bypass because it has the best co-morbidity rate according to my doctor. I will be honest, I am afraid of the surgery and complications especially with regards to the high blood pressure and my asthma. I have faith I will come through but just scared. I cannot wait to feel better!!! I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in my journey and I wish you all good health and well being!! Julie

  5. The past two weeks I've been getting fuller quicker at mealtimes but then feel ravenous in between. I'm starting to get concerned the surgery is not working but I feel this is more to do with my response. The surgery is working as is my exercise routine: I've lost 78 pounds but then I got on the scales this morning and found I'd put on 4 pounds! It's normal at this time in the month for me as I have fibroids and fluid retention is a nightmare. However, once my period is over I can lose 8-10 pounds straight away. So why am I not taking it in my stride as I have done since I got sleeved in November? My mood over the past few weeks has dipped; I don't feel as brightly opt…

Hello all new here to the site and the sleeve. I was at the doc for a yearly check up and he brought up wls to me and I immediately said no way but when I got home I started reading and reading, I even read the big book on the gastric sleeve. Now I am going back to the doc this month for my test results and to ask for a referral to see a bariatric doctor. What are some questions you recommend asking the bariatric doctor on the first visit?

Currently i'm at 78 kilo's. Pre pregnancy i was at 72 and my goal weight in life is 60. Will i ever get there. Is there any advice any one who has been in my position can give me?

The next morning they take me down to drink that nasty liquid and watch pass through well mine didn't pass it would stop. So no liquids for me that day, the next morning they send me down again and this time it seems to be going through just really slow so they ok me to have water. That 2nd night I woke up screaming in pain it felt like someone was stabbing me in the chest so the nurses dope me up and I fell asleep. 21. Hi everyone! New here. I have been very much a lurker since my bypass surgery on the 23rd of March, figured it was time I actually participate and share my struggles and of course my successes. I had a lap band placed in January 2011 after being denied for the sleeve, despite having uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension, and other medical issues. I didn't want the band, but I was desperate to get rid of the weight. I lost over 40 pounds and really changed many of my bad habits, but to no avail my diabetes remained an issue. After much thought, and having to change Dr.'s I finally decided to get the gastric bypass to get even better control of my eating habits, health …

I am 3 years out this May and have gained back all of my weight plus some. The sleeve is a tool. I got so sick of eating shakes, Protein and other repititious stuff that I finally had a piece of chocolate cake. Then discovering that it slid right on down I added more and more. I am back into a size 3x and worse than ever. I try to go back but the sugar is everywhere. I emotionally eat and did not get enough counselling or support to help me through this. I am so sorry I ever wasted my money and time. Make sure you are aware of what you are doing .....If I felt like a failure before I sure am feeling double now.

  26. I had my surgery on 2/23/15 and since I've had very little problems. Very little pain and discomfort and I was able to return to work after only 4 weeks but the issues I've been having for about a week is an insatiable feeling of hunger and emptiness in my stomach as well as a slight headache. I will eat a meal(consisting of mostly protein) and maybe 15-30 minutes after eating I have this incredible feeling of hunger. I was under the impression that with this kind of surgery that the 'starving' feeling was going to be near nil and that it gets to the point that I need to remind myself to eat but what I'm feeling is the exact opposite. the feeling is like I haven't eaten i…

I made up my mind on having surgery because I have medical problems that would actually be helped by me losing weight and getting healthy. So I made a list of those reasons. Lower Blood pressure. Reduce diabetes medications. Less pressure on my joints two of which I have had replaced they are in my toes. Reduce other medications. I also have had people bullying me for being obese for many years.

  29. Hi! I felt the need to share my story because when I began this journey I relied on these forms to provided me with hope, advice and courage. First my surgery was through Ready4Achange with Dr. Fernando Garcia in Mexico. With the flight to San Diego it cost me around 5,000 US. Starting I was 230 pounds and a size 16-18 and I was 25 years old. I wanted this surgery more then anything, I worked two jobs for six months to save up. My surgery date was November 18th 2013. So its been a little more then a year. Today March 31st 2015 I am 165 and a size 10. I would have the surgery again in a heart beat. I feel healthier today. So I've gotten the exercise bug recently and have been curating a playlist of songs that are good for working out to. Really just about anything with a fast beat will do it, but I have my own personal preferences. I grew in the 80s and 90s listening to The Clash, Tom Petty, They Might Be Giants, and Nirvana so that's where I'm coming from. I thought it might be fun to have a thread where people can post the favorite workout mixtape--i.e. 8 to 12 songs that get them motivated in the gym. So here's mine to start: Nirvana Breed Hamilton Leithauser Alexandra Tom Petty Fault Lines Gary Clarke Jr. Don't Owe You a Thing Yeah Yeah Yeahs Tick Franz Ferdinand Come on Home I…

I wouldn't be were I am had I not been banded. I did it for my health. I remember the day after the surgery telling my family I probably added 15 years to my life. There have been some fun victories. No seat belt extender on plane! Fit in booth! Lost 11" from waist! But today it happened. Went to endocrinologist for follow up. I'm no longer diabetic! Six months before surgery, my A1c was 10.1. I choose to get the surgery because I have dealt with my weight all my life. I tried taking diet pills, did weight watchers and so on. But I always seemed to gain the weight back. What really hit me and made me choose to get the surgery would be my doctor telling me I was at a high risk for a heart attack. It made me think do I want to have a heart attack at the age of 19? So from then on I decided to change my life to a healthier life style than what I was use to. My highest weight was 265 pounds. The day of …
