Hi guys! I just bought some Life Choice “healthy” chicken hotdogs that are made out of chicken breast and thighs. The fat and sugar was below what I’m allowed to eat so I was wondering if it was okay? I attached a pic so you guys can see. I’m clearly confused lol. Thanks in advance.

Hello (for some reason my profile won't allow me to edit some info) but I am post op, had my sleeve done 4/7/18. I'm 25 yrs old, 5'6 and my current weight is 197. I started at 241. I am miserable and seriously regretting that I even had this surgery done. I have not had a solid meal in the last 3 weeks and am losing weight entirely too fast. I am constantly, severely nauseated 24/7. It prevents me from sleeping, eating and doing the basic things I need to do to care for myself. I realize on this forum that there are others with this issue but it seems like their nausea and vomiting is after eating and perhaps they have an underlying surgery issue, I can assure you I…

Good Day BariatricPal denizens! I've got an odd issue, I've got a follow up with my surgeon here in 2 weeks, but I figured I'd Poll the Audience in the mean time. Since shortly after my surgery, I don't recall exactly when I noticed, but about a month now I figure, I've had this spot on my leg (Right leg, on the front/outside area of my shin not far below the knee) that I've lost sensation in, I can feel pressure, but that's about it. And it's ONLY on the outside and only a small circular area, about an inch or 2 across or so. Originally the tissue underneath was giving me issues, it was painful to put pressure on, so certain exercise machines would be painful to u…

*I have contacted my surgeon and am awaiting a response* I am 5 days post op of having my lap and removed, gall bladder removed and sleeve done in one surgery. When I’m sitting I’m ok but when I stand up it feels like all of my organs drop down and are just hanging heavy and then as I take steps(just to the bathroom) it feels like my stomach is getting tighter and tighter the more I walk. Just wondering if anyone has had this sensation.

What is the longest stall you've had and at what months after post op were they until you finally dropped? My stall started at 8 weeks out and I'm still the same weight at 14 weeks. I've list inches just hoping the scale will drop some day soon.

Hi! My surgery was yesterday and I only started sipping water and watered down juice today. My dr made me drink from medicine cups. I feel it goes down very weird. It like bubles or something, I can’t explain it but it hurts a bit. I had to take liquid norco a few hours ago for my headache and that really hurt as it was going down:( anyone else have or had this problem when they first started sipping liquids? Also, on top of all my gas my stomach keeps growling as if it is hungry lol. My head isn’t hungry at all though??♀️??♀️??♀️

For years I had the Ninja Kitchen System and used the blender and food processor religiously. I loved it! Except for the noise level. I didn't like that people in China could hear when I was making a smoothie so I gave it away. Now I'm in the market for a new one for all the pureed and protein shakes in my future. I'm considering going back to a Ninja, but wanted to hear other's reviews in what you guys use and recommend. So - what do you guys use and love?

So far I am stocked up on vitamins, protein shakes, all the foods allowed post -op. I bought paper plates, one ounce measuring cups for measuring fluids and food. We already have a ninja and food processor along with blender Bottles. We also have food scales galore from the years of dieting. What else do we need? Surgery is on Monday and for those who have gone through it what did you wish you had or glad you had. What made your meal prep easier? Any kitchen tools?

Hi all, Not sure if it’s right to post here but I can get the advice. I am post op 6 months. It was a smooth journey so far. I measured my weight daily , I know it’s not advised but it keeps me on track. I walk Everyday for 2 miles and until recently I found I gained 1 pound within a day even on a normal routine so I increased to 5 miles a day and initially it showed very good results where I lost 1 pound a day until today morning when I weight I gained 1 pound. Walking 5 miles a day is really taking a toll on my body at this point. XI strained my back and my knees become weak. I am quite depressed because if the current exercise that I have is enough to maintain my weig…

I just can’t keep this to myself.. for everyone who weighs themselves everyday and often wonder at what rate they are losing and in how long will they be at any given goal weight, well there’s an app for that. There’s this App called “Happy Scale” and it will track your weight and set everything up for you into milestones and it’s so easy to read and track. This app has totally changed how I track my weightloss, I wake up in the morning and can’t wait to weigh myself and enter my numbers in. Let me know how you guys like it. I want to thank everyone for the wonderful advice regarding depression and anxiety. Just reading your answers helped lift my mood. I am glad we are going through this together and we can talk to each other. I have good moments and bad moments. When I feel a bad moment coming on I just try to keep my mind occupied or start working on a project. It helps to know that these are typical feelings and not out of the ordinary. I keep concentrating on the fact that one day I will look back on all of this and realize it was the smartest thing I ever did for myself. I already notice that I can sleep through the night without my sleep apnea (snoring) waking me up every hour. …

A lot of people on the forum say that it's taken them weeks or months to reach 64 oz of water in a day, but I'm four days post-op and I'm having no problem reaching it. Is this normal? I guess I'm just going through the phase where I'm paranoid about stretching my stomach out, but I just want some reassurance!

Hi all! I must admit I've taken a bit of a hiatus from this Site for awhile, as work got busy and the school year got more involved. Pleased to say that I have survived my first year on a new job and also my one year surgiversary is coming up next week, so I feel like I have become comfortable with this "new journey" and the "new me" has become the only me I can really remember! My weight loss has slowed over the past several months, and although I had an emotional reaction to this at first (addiction to the scale moving can be as severe as our former addiction to the food was) I've really come to peace with it. I also see my body changing and am getting a lot of com…

I am today 5 days post op, surgery was early AM Friday June 1st: and what I've heard is how hard it is to get water in. Sunday I was able to get 12oz in, Monday 14oz in, and yesterday Tuesday I got 18oz in. I'm not drinking these amounts all at once it's from the moment I wake to just before bed but I'm concerned I'm drinking too much? I'm not in pain Etc. Just trying to get my water in like I was told.

I had my surgery on the 15th and I am still not managing nearly enough water and i am barely getting down an ounce and a half of babyfood beans or peas. I am starting to worry that something is wrong i can't drink more than maybe 3 ounces of water without feeling super full and forget protein in the water I feel stuffed instantly. Some advice would be welcome.

Hi all, I am having gastric bypass on June 27th (YAY!!!). Friends asked us to a Keith Urban concert on July 8th. The venue is a 30 minute drive from our house. We’d be getting “lawn seats” so basically sitting on blankets watching the sunset and listening to good music... Do you think this is do-able, 10 days post op? Thanks for your input [emoji175]

Hi I am married to a man who has been on some kind of diet since I met him over 30 years ago. Pills, calorie restriction etc have never worked. At 310lbs he and he is at risk healthwise. So tommorow is his surgery. I will be his caretaker and I am also an RN but have no experience at all with bariatric patients. I know the textbook versions but I am wondering about the TRUE patient experience that might help me anticipate his needs and post op feelings. If Im prepared I can soothe him and look for anything that needs to be addressed. You are all brave people and I admire your courage! I am from the opposite camp and once had anorexia before anyone knew what it was. It was…

So yesterday I woke up to a raging headache that only got worse as the day went on. I was dizzy and had no energy. I was so lethargic and thought something was really wrong. I could barely walk. It wasn’t until dinner time that I thought to check my sugar levels (I have diabetes 2 but stopped my meds after surgery). I had a low blood sugar reading at 4.0. I gave myself the dex chewables and it increased my levels to 5.0. Today my headache returned mid afternoon. Now as it’s nighttime, it has only gotten worse. My blood sugar tested at 5.1 so I’m not sure why I have this annoying headache. Does anyone else get headaches and what do you do? I tried crushing the Ty…

I can only tolerate Stevia. Everything sugar free seems to be made with Sucralose ( splenda ) I get violently ill. This has made my journey more difficult as I was limited in the protein shake options ( I used a Plant Based Protein Powder from Six Starr and added Fairlife skim milk . I cannot have sugarfee jello or popsicles . I have recommendations for others who may have similar issues. I did a lot of trial and error. Feel free to inquire

Hey everyone I’m in the purée stage of my gastric sleeve diet and I was wondering how long should it take me to eat 2oz of chicken salad? Since I’ve had my surgery, my stomach only felt swollen for a couple of days and now I’m able to eat yogurt way faster. Apparently it takes some people a couple of hours to finish such small amounts, but not me. Is that normal? I also can gulp liquids just fine and it doesn’t give me much discomfort (maybe a few burps) is it possible my surgeon left too much stomach, or is this normal?

Hey guys! I am super grateful for the surgery and the opportunity to get my life back but today I just feel sad for some reason. I have been moody and emotional (poor kids lol). I starting questioning if I did the right thing or if I made a mistake with the surgery. I was feeling sad that I would never be able to eat certain things again and almost bitter. I know it’s these foods that got me to 340lbs in the first place but I always thought that I could have everything back but just in much smaller portions. I’m not even talking about junk food or soda or anything like that. Good riddance to those things. I feel like I’m never gonna be able to eat my mom’s special di…

I’m just more than 5 months post-op (sleeve) and I’ve plateaued for a solid month now: I haven’t been gaining but my weight fluctuates within 3 lbs of 276-279. So far 65lbs down since surgery in later December and I’m not complaining! But I’m revisiting what I was taught beforehand. I know I’ve strayed a bit eating a sweet good here and there, but ALWAYS getting my protein, water, and vitamins in. I’ve been having this irrational fear that my stomach is stretching too because I feel like my portions - although not as big as they used to be - are bigger than what I’m supposed to be taking in. For instance I just ate 2 stand n stuff taco shells with reduced shredded che…

Hi guys. Sorry I haven't been around for ages but I've had nothing to say. Now after several months, I have my second opinion as to why my bypass didn't work (no restriction). Well, it seems there are 2 surgical errors. One is that the stoma is indeed too large (15-20mm) and is ineffective, there's no hold up of food at the site. And secondly, I have what they call an extra limb that comes off the pouch and looks like a hockey stick or candy cane. Has anyone else had experience with either of these problems? xx

Hey guys! So you guys are amazing and always reassure me and answer my millions of questions lol so here’s another one for you.... When did you start losing weight after your gastric bypass surgery? I’m 5 days post op and have not lost any weight yet. I actually am heavier than I was on my surgery date but only by a pound or two. I know they pump you up with things and I’m still crazy bloated BUT I’m just nervous that I’m doing something wrong. How long until I should start seeing some progress? When do I worry? Are there any cases where you don’t lose significant weight after the surgery even if you follow the meal plans? I guess I have a lot of time…

My doctor said to not eat/drink at least one hour before bedtime in order to lessen any possibility of having reflux. My reflux used to be horrible but it's very minimal now. My issue is I get really parched at night and like to have water next to me to drink before bed or if I wake up in the middle of the night thirsty. I don't want to feel so thirsty all night, but I also don't want reflux poking me while I sleep. Will this go away over time? Will I be able to have some sips of water throughout the night without having to sit up and wait an hour to go back to sleep? I do try and get as much water in as possible before I start getting ready for bed, but since childhood I…

I need to fly for work, all day 2 long flights unfortunately. Any ideas on good travel foods? My layovers aren't long enough to even try to get something healthy in an airport. I grabbed some protein packets to make shakes on the go. But at this stage I do need a little food to not be hungry, especially for an entire day. . . . I am 3.5 weeks and have tolerated most foods I have tried. Any bright ideas?
