Would love to meet some people on Fort Riley who would like to start a support group! Maybe start walking or going to Gym on post. I was banded Oct 26th, 2010 my husband is now deployed so I need all the help I can get!

So I've been banded for about four months now, since September 2014, and I've only lost 5kg! I go to the gym three times a week, and I have 14.5ml in a 20ml band. I'm still hungry all the time, and I hardly ever feel full, is there something wrong with my band, or is it just me?

I had 3cc removed from my band yesterday because I had been vomiting everything for a couple of months. Last night was great - no vomiting but today I'm having some discomfort in my upper stomach. Is this normal? Could the discomfort be from over eating last night or just sore from the band being so tight before?

This morning I found a jar of opened Peanut Butter on the table. I asked everyone in my house who got into the peanut butter and left the lid off, when I asked my husband he said he got up to get some Water last night around 4 am and I was eating it off a spoon. I used to sleep walk when I was little, and have done all kinds of things in my sleep, killed spiders, looked for lost baseballs, read invisible books, had entire conversations, as far as I know I have never eaten in my sleep, and of special concern to me, I am not supposed to eat peanut butter, my NUT says its not very band friendly. Wonder why I can't just get on the treadmill in my sleep, I must not be doing…

I can't believe that today marks 10 weeks since my Lap-Band Surgery. The time has just flown by and I am feeling better than ever. This week sees another .5kg loss for me bringing my total weight loss so far to 14.5kg. Again it is another fairly small one but I am okay with it... I have clocked up another year on the calendar of life this week as well (42!!) and although I haven't over-eaten, I haven't counted calories either. I have one more celebration (and my Mum's birthday as well) this weekend and I don't intend to count those calories either. After all, that's what life is all about - we still need to enjoy these times. I also had my first 'stuck' episode l…

Had a check up today, I am not feeling my best, due to my aunt Flo arriving 5 days early. I have lost 6lbs in 3wks, the Dr. said that I was retaining Water, and probably have actually lost a little bit more, he showed me how the scales knew that, cause I was amazed he could tell I was retaining, I can feel it but I had no idea the scales measure it. He filled the band 0.75cc today because for the last 3 days I have been feeling tighter and he said that was likely due to the water retention which around that time of the month presses on the band, again I learned something new so I have 3.75cc in my band right now I just ate 2 eggs, I don't feel stuffed like he says I wil…

Hospital and doctors were great. Sleeping on and off and walking around every two hours. They ended up fixing a hernia while they were in there. Stomach especially sore around the port. Pretty uncomfortable but manageable still. Drinking a Special K protein drink only 5 calories but not hungry at all still.

I had a fill a few weeks ago. 1 whole cc which brings me to 7.2 cc's in my 10cc band. I hadn't had a whole cc in a while. I normally get .5 or some other fraction and not having a lot of restriction so the np decided to give me a full cc which I thought would be fine. my band felt tight for a few days then it was fine, then TOM rolled around so it was tight again. Now TOM is over and I can still feel my band. It doesn't hurt, but when I move in certain ways I can feel it. I have no problem eating or drinking. I have not had any stuck episodes I'm just concerned that I can still feel my band. Is this normal, or should I have a few tenths taken out? I have had my …

My band was unfilled February 2014. I started getting fills in May 2014. My weight has slowly creeped up since my unfill. I'm at 7cc with a 10 cc band . My band slipped at 7cc and that's why I needed an unfill . Last month when I went to 7cc , I was able to fill some restriction . My ability to eat more was limited . However, my weight did not change from my last visit . The doctor did not give me another fill, which was a bit disappointing to me. I was banded 2/29/2012. Started at 262 lbs now I'm 217 lbs .......lowest weight was 173 lbs before my unfill. At the lowest weight I was a loose size 12 leaning towards a size 10 . Now I'm a semi-tight size 12 and mid loose size…

Has anyone ever heard of your body rejecting the Band? I have a history of GI problems (pre/post band.) I have battled colitis, been diagnosed with IBS and latest episode of gastritis treated with 2 weeks of super strong antibiotics for h. pylori bacteria. I have been having pain since November, usually under my left rib area. I have not had any vomiting or pb's. My reflux has subsided since taking the anitbiotics and a month of Prevacid. My GI doc says it is unrelated to my band. Scoping shows band is in correct position since banding 05/06. Barium in Dec showed slight dilation. Was completely unfilled for 6 weeks, recked, looked good and refilled slightly less than bef…

I was banded about a year ago and am only half way to my goal weight. I struggle a lot with what kinds of food I have been eating and that is why I believe that my weighloss has been slow. I recently found out that I am expecting. This is my 5th child but 1st since being banded. Does anyone have any suggestions or stories on how their pregnancy went after they got banded? I am wondering if I should get my band loosened although I feel fine with where it is at and do not want to gain extra weight if I get it loosened. Any suggestions and comments help. Thanks.

So I totally failed at eating today I know I ate way too much. This was pretty much my first time in a big group setting and well I guess I was wondering.... How do you handle these kind of occasions? I am usually really good about measuring my food etc and I guess I'm a little freaked out that I was able to eat A LOT more than I usually allow myself... Has this happened to anyone? I'm freaking out just a little because now that it's done I'm questioning if I ruined my pouch or aided in a slippage lol I know it might sound silly but just being honest

This is a question - topic I read here everyday. What is, and how did you determine your weight goal? Well, I can only share what I know from my own experience....whether sound or not, it's what I went through and live by. First of all, BMI's mean absolutely nothing to me! Very unscientific. It's ok to use in general, but it is by no means accurate. What is accurate is how much of your total weight is comprised of lean muscle, Water, bone density, etc, and % of BODY FAT. We, as weight loss people, should be concerned with how much body fat our body is comprised of, and not so much what we weigh. (although it is nice) According to BMI charts, I am still 15 lbs ov…

I was always under the impression that as I lose weight, my band would get looser, and I would have to have it tightened to continue to lose weight. However, the opposite seems to be happening to me. Back in March I was having trouble drinking fluids and my doctor had to take some fluid out. Everything was fine for a couple of months. But now again...having trouble sipping tomato soup. I mean, I'm pleased that I continue to lose weight. But I'm afraid it's not healthy for my body....I can't eat any solids, and so have trouble getting protein in. Drinking is not very comfortable either anymore...especially for the first couple of hours in the morning.

  29. Hi. I was banded july 2013 and was really successful. I lost 170 lbs in just over 11 months and felt incredible. I embraced exercise in a huge way and lived and totally loved my life. I then choose to have a full TT. I had lots of stretch marks and an over hang. Had my band fully deflated for my op. Not sure but they may of left in a cc or two. I got necrosis (when the flesh dies around the incisions) was in agony. Had to have further surgery and a wound vac. My recovery took months instead of weeks. I was informed inadequate diet was to blame for my healing difficulties 4 weeks post op and I was to eat more. So I did. And gained 30lbs over 4 months. I was on a total ex…

In the long history of my own diabetic onset, often I noted strange compulsions to eat certain things, crave ever moreMoreMORE and OVER eat them despite attempts to moderate. During the 70s/80s/90s I became certain high fructose corn syrup had virtually unrecognized, unreported, unstudied & often denied, effects on some people. And try as I might, ingesting 'just a little' was WAY too much. Not blaming anyone/thing and accept ~I~ was the one bending my elbow to stuff that wretched concoction in my pie-hole....yet looking back it certainly resembles some form of addictive process. Hi everyone and Happy New Year! I am so frustrated, had surgery in Feb and the last few times I have been to the doc haven't lost a thing, If I remember right I only have around 3.5cc in my band. When I go to get a fill I lay down he puts the needle in then has me sit up, when he goes to put in more liquid, when he gets to around 3.5cc it starts pushing back. He then tells me the band won't take anymore. I really thought by now I would have lost more than I have, around 30lbs. Anyway I go to the doc tomorrow for my last fill of the year. Am going to ask him to let me stay laying down while he puts the liquid in and hopefully I will end up with more. I feel as though I ca…

So the poll that was posted yesterday about whether or not you feel offended when people call you skinny got me to thinking about something else that DOES offend me. The thought actually was triggered later when my photographer posted some pics on facebook of me and my family. Several people have liked and commented on the pics, which is great. What bugs the crap out of me is that every time a new picture is posted of me now, someone has to respond with "You look great. How did you do it? Can you help me?" and what really gets to me is that the people who do that are usually people who would have never commented on anything I posted to my facebook page before. This also h…

I got my band in July 2013. I lost 25 lbs during the pre-surgery liquid diet, but only 10 additional lbs in the following year. I had issues with the band once I started getting fills. I had a hard time keeping food down and threw up almost every time I ate solid food. My surgeon then started the fill/unfill game. I went back and forth so many times. While this was going on, I continued to have unrelenting port pain. It was unbearable from the day I had surgery. My surgeon said that I'd get used to it, but I never did. It just hurt all the time. It prevented me from exercising, sleeping, and I couldn't even sit in a chair in the same position for too long. In May 2014, …

It's typical for my band to be tighter with stress and she actually feels it as well. And now she had a fill a couple of weeks ago and I feel like I had one too. I'm not complaining at all because I love the extra restriction here and there, just wanted to know if anyone else has the same feelings.
